MU: Slinky & Sequins sounds pretty lovely Reine!

blossoming · 11/10/2011 21:16

Hi everyone. Long day. Am collapsed in a heap. Hope the full moon buggers off soon.
No s&b as have large spot on nose (kindly pointed out by dsis). Too much MAC?
marsha, your MU boots were divine on Saturday.

MarshaBrady · 11/10/2011 21:18

Oh no Ollie! MrOllie o-ho. Not a good idea.

rufus101 · 11/10/2011 21:27

Poor Red and Ollie, what a day you've had.
I am interested to see how you will disinvite you MIL Ollie! (Sits back and prepares to take notes!)
this is the In Wear pencil skirt I was talking about. It's now been reduced to 50 euro, which is very good value. I wear it a lot for work.quite like this in plum I would wear with olive green j brand skinnies and my kurt geiger suede ankle boots. Also like this polo neck
Lastly, I am veering away from the down coat, as they all make me look quite bulky, and have been thinking that really, what I need is something waterproof. (Well this is Ireland) So I came across this Helly Hansen waterproof coat in charcoal If you look at the navy one, you can see that is is fitted at the waist, which I prefer to the sac like usual one!
I also tried on this Merrell Down coat today It was nice, and lightweight, but BORING. (I mean, people a little fur around the hood would have lifted it just a little)
Anyway I shall await your comments on the Helly Hansen, I am itching to give it a go, and I have a 20% off code!

Yes to slinky and sequin meet-up!!!

marsha How could you have felt underdressed on Saturday? That dress/boots combo looked so chic and cool on you!

Speaking of boots: I saw a lovely pair of black (also available in choc brown) riding boots in R&B on Sunday. Were ££ but so gorgeous! Obviously cannot link, grrr.

blossoming · 11/10/2011 21:55

rufus, is that red's HH coat?
I am not one to ask as have been in my craghopper all day, with the hood tied tight. We had one of those drizzly days where the drizzle goes everywhere, like a blizzard. Great coat though.
I am trying not to click onto any pencil skirt links. Don't want to think how much I spent last week. Ouch!
Thankyou Fritzi. Sis was having a bad day. hasbecomeagran. What does that make me?

rufus101 · 11/10/2011 22:03

Goodness! That makes you a great aunt Bloss. Does happen though. My DDad was a great uncle when I was a small child, and it is a bit odd having your cousins children the same age as yourself!
That will be great if it is the same coat Red has, she can give me a proper review. Funny the way we can pick the same things isnt' it? I tried on your coat today, but it swamps my frame. Needs a taller lady than me.

Fabulous marsha slinky and sequins it is Smile

notyummy · 11/10/2011 22:18

M and S shoes not pointy Annie.

You could invest on the more expensive ones in the colour that you think you will get the most wear out of and then buy a couple of cheaper M and S ones in different colours. I will admit to ordering the nude!! Fritzi- you can order them to be delivered into a store on a specific day- usually from about 2 days after placing your order onwards.

Not the same coat Rufus - this is mine but in a slate grey. DH managed to find it in an XS and it fits perfectly - flattering and the sleeves are the right length in a coat for the first time. Would recommend.

She coped well Reine - so passive aggressive. DH and i were talking about households where no-one ever shouts recently. Maybe people are just calmer than us but all that simmering tension with no outlet. How do people do it?!

Pickled you're a star. Imagine you know of all sorts of avenues to explore.

annie haven't watched this week's episode, but had to.nip in there on Saturday pre-MU and was thrilled to see the womenswear manager swanning around.

Congratulations Bloss..!

Tried on a nice Navy pea-coat in h&m today that really tempted me, but couldn't decide if it was too itchy when on.

Yes to Christmas lists Amber - so far have some cosmetics bits and nice knickers in mind. Your thoughts?

MarshaBrady · 11/10/2011 22:40

Thank you Fritzi! I was on the edge of some sort of mu frenzy where I keep trying to find a good outfit. You have saved me! I love the multiple shoe purchase.

Thanks Bloss and Anniemac. Although Anniemac you may have convinced me to keep the black one, if good.

Crazy, ds2 has just gone to sleep. We are in no mans should he nap or not in the day land.

FritziGreenEyes · 11/10/2011 22:41

Thanks notyummy!

I can only do Strictly Annie. But often watch things as a one-off 'just to see'.

Don't get me wrong - we don't shout loads but accept that shouting comes within the realms of normal human expression - along with laughing, crying, whispering etc and we are an expressive and articulate family. I know there are people who never shout - where does the frustration go?? Or are we the exception to the rule?

Like your HH Red, must have a look around for it.
Annie the pencil skirt comes in black, which is the one I have.
Bloss, you don't have a single wrinkle (you witch!).
Re shouty houses. My name is Rufus and I'm a shouty mum. DH is much calmer person than me, yet when he gets home (after a long day), I must admit to getting somewhat amused at how frustrated he can get in a short space of time. I by then am in serene mode saying breezily "it's been like that for hours here, I don't know what you are getting so worked up about". (Makes me feel better) I am so calm and collected at work, and have great patience. Your own children though have a way of finding the last nerve you have and prancing on it till it's jangling.

OllieinOrange · 12/10/2011 07:34

For those that like a lower heel, M&S has these in the same colour ways.

OllieinOrange · 12/10/2011 08:09

Red I've seen that H&M jacket too and liked it a lot. They often have half price coat sales during Oct/Nov too?
Reine wow to those sequin trousers - could never get away wearing them but admire that sort of thing on others. A big yes from me to slinky and sequins for next MU - will need a completely new outfit tho!
Annie I agree with the others, you should get that grey dress. Having met you now, I can really see it on you!
Fritzi I think we should hire a German DJ for our party then - DH wants lots of 80s and 90s classics and put in a special request for Abba and Right Said Fred Hmm!!! I just said to limit the Dutch easy listening stuff!
Pickled thats the sort of coat but need one in grey or navy.

Book Club this evening - discussing How To Be A Woman - my choice. Am a bit disappointed as a few of the group haven't finished it and then said they are not coming. Get so frustrated when that happens - goes against being part of a Book Club imo.
Am re-reading The Memory Keepers Daughter - just a wonderful, heart wrenching book. Who was that was asking about the Smell of Lemons book Ants/Petit??? - its on my wish list but sounds a v good read.

I hope I dont sound like a complete b*h over the MIL coming to the party thing. She can be very sweet but in social situations can talk and talk - mostly about really uninteresting random topics like the history of the city wall of the town in which she lives. I would feel responsible for her for the time she was there (DH's sisters cannot come). Will have a chat to DH.
Have a good day all.
