Aaargh, in taxi on way home after purse was nicked whilst i put DD in her buggy. What was it you were saying about bubbles bursting pickled?! Had driving license and everything else in, even my bloody birth certificate. What a moron i am. Thank god i didn't have my Mulberry with me.

FritziGreenEyes · 10/10/2011 17:41

red Poor you!!! But at least the Mulberry is safe...

FritziGreenEyes · 10/10/2011 17:45

annie Can't remember whether you got the Ebay coat you linked to the other day. Just saw this on M&S website. It's not MaxMara glam but might be worth a try?

FritziGreenEyes · 10/10/2011 18:07

ollie Here is my watch.

blossoming · 10/10/2011 18:37

fritzi that is just gorgeous. I missed that on Saturday.

red, how dreadful about your purse, and the inconvenience of it all. Glass of wine for you too tonight I reckon.

Have put dd in bed already, and am about to shred while ds has computer time. Seeing you all on Saturday has made me doubly keen to re-establish my shred pattern!

wideawakenurse · 10/10/2011 18:57

red, how awful. Its such a pain to have to re order cards etc.

carciofi what a nightmare day for you. Agree a least one glass of wine is in order for you.

annie, your comments about your DD's always make me smile.

Agree about Whistles website, models always look anaemic and hungover to me. It really doesn't do the clothes much justice. I'd say it's the main shop I go to on the High Street though. Bloss, Grazia tend to do 20% Whistles at the start of a season, now you are a convert!

Striped Janice is turning into a useful maternity outfit, although I am finding it really hard to put a outfit together for work everyday with such a limited wardrobe. I'll be pleased when my tents maternity uniforms turn up.

notyummy · 10/10/2011 19:12

Red and carciofi - so sorry to hear about your woes....however perhaps I can brighten your day in a shallow way with cheap yet excellent footwear....?!

Feast your eyes ladies...the famous patent heels are now in a range of colours, including nude, metallic and show stopping red. Happy days!

carciofi · 10/10/2011 19:24

Ooooh, NY, they are lovely, I may have to get a red pair.

Fritzi, what a gorgeous watch.

I bet the top is much nicer on you, Bloss. I like Whistles a lot but the website is bad. At least they have a website though (are you listening, Russell and Bromley?). The Me and Em model also looks a bit odd, very pretty but some very bizarre poses.

Red, sorry about your wallet, how annoying. You have reminded me to clear my wallet out a bit as I have my driving license, etc in there and also some passport photos of my mother as a teenager, which I would be so upset if I lost.

Wan, how are you feeling?

Wine open, kitchen finally cleaned and DD1 about to go to bed, phew. And, amazingly, DH is on the way home.

OllieinOrange · 10/10/2011 19:36

Oooh exciting news about the shoes NY - they had one pair of the navy ones in the Marble Arch store in a small size and they looked lovely. Are they on the website now - couldn't see how to buy some! They will be best sellers Im sure!

redllamayellowllama · 10/10/2011 19:46

Ooh they are glorious shoes NY, like the pewter pair the most I think. Your description of the Whistles model is spot-on. The poses that she pulls don't even make the clothes look good - all that jutting out of the hips. A complete nonsense.

Am annoyed that the Grazia promotion expires tomorrow and I have no sodding cards with which to purchase things.

Good shout on the removal of bits from your purse Carciofi - am kicking myself now. I had a couple of pictures of the DC larking around in a photo booth that I'm really sad about losing.

MarshaBrady · 10/10/2011 19:55

What a shame Red. I would hate that too.

Funny today. Still using the bag from Saturday and a big ol' cheque fluttered out in the wind (yes still walking around with it open, but not anymore). And lovely neighbour found it rang the school and I was able to get it back. AND it was a person who was friends with someone whose ££ I had found fluttering on the street months ago and I had given it the lollipop lady and it made it's way back to the owner. The stars aligned or something!

blossoming · 10/10/2011 20:40

That was lucky marsha.
Great shoes notyummy! Also love the red ones.
It must feel like a Friday in your place carciofi! Hope you have a lovely evening.

annie hope you have a better day today. I too am a stress head, though it tends to be DH who bears the brunt of it. You're under a lot of pressure so be kind to yourself, sounds to me like you're fab with your DDs.

OP posts:
Emo76 · 11/10/2011 08:13

great spot notyummy

red I am so sorry for you, there are horrible people out there. Obviously I join the others in saying thank goodness your gorgeous Mulberry is safe!

carciofi and annie what a day. very hard to be patient in those circumstances. here's to a better Tuesday.

DD2 has another cold. DH isn't well. The mornings are getting darker and work is quite stressful. More cheerily I ordered those Merrill Oslo boots recommended on another thread - very pleased with them. I am not going to let the snow outfox me this year. I am now looking for some proper gloves (not man's mountinerring ones but stylish waterproof - any ideas?) and pondering that AIGLE coat except I can't remember which one is so heavily recommended. Any kind linkers out there ....?

notyummy · 11/10/2011 08:24

Morning all. Didn't sleep well last night, and as Emo says the darker morning mean that it is nearly dark throughout my drive to work, which makes it harder to get up out of bed and out of the house. Harrumph.

Annie - sorry to hear to about your stressful evening. I am quite well known for how calm I am at work, which DH finds amusing as I often have a very short fuse at home. I don't sulk though, and I like to think I am pretty good at apologising when I am in the wrong.

Have dug out my bargain merino wool jumper from Banana Republic for the first time this season. It is lovely and snuggly....although it's not really that cold here, just blustery. Watched 'The Social Network' last night with DH whch was pretty good. We are in a DVD club where you list all the ones you are interested in and they send you one at a time. Works quite well, but no control over the order so sometimes we see things literally years after they have come out!

Hope you all have good days.

AmberNectarine · 11/10/2011 08:35

DD much better today, thanks to all who asked! An thinking of making the big move into her own cot and room after we get back from centre parcs at the weekend as she hates her Moses basket and is now insisting on a whole side of our double to herself which is not helping DH and I!

Going to pop to the shops later for a browse later. Must be wise though as I spent a large sum on Steps concert tickets yesterday Blush

Am happy today though as tomorrow I have my lovely DH at home with us until the end of the month. Have felt like ships in the night lately, am so looking forward to having lots of cosy evenings in with a DVD. NY have been meaning to see the social network so that may be first on the list!

carciofi glad things are sorted! Not quite the same but DS managed to unscrew the pipes under the sink a couple of weeks ago and I had a flooded kitchen about half an hour before guests were due!

Is it too early to talk Christmas? DH is haranguing me for a wishlist...

pickledsiblings · 11/10/2011 09:46

for you emo, pronounced 'aggilly' Grin

MarshaBrady · 11/10/2011 10:17

Gosh no Amber never too early. List away!

Oh yes dh takes my stress and frustration too. He is calm and content pretty much all the time. The source of my frustration is not being able to do work. But I am getting there as ds2 gets older. And am in production. Very happy about that. Finally.

Emo76 · 11/10/2011 10:31

thanks pickled - am I being dim, but any owners know if it is waterproof? Looks super cosy.

Hi all
I have returned from feeling sorry for myself because I missed the meetup :) It sounds great!!

I would SO love to do a minimeet, and Annie clothes swap could be genius. I have a couple of nice bits I am too lazy to Ebay (or am not sure they would do that well anyway) that would fit the bill perfectly. November is good for me!

red that is very bad news re wallet.

Hope the grumpy days have passed....I had one last week where I stomped about the house for an entire day feeling stompy and cross. Then I got my period and I felt like a bit of an idiot for not realizing the source of my stompiness (even though there were genuine causes I was much grumpier than usual!)

AmberNectarine · 11/10/2011 12:56

roary thanks to a combination of being pregnant and breastfeeding on a loop I have only had to deal with PMT once since Mar 09. Of course it had to be the few days before I got married. The stress of baking my own cakes and that combined to make me seriously consider doing a bunk!

FritziGreenEyes · 11/10/2011 13:10

Lots of edginess and sleeplessness in the fritzi-household too at the moment. Don't want to come over all lentil-weavery but have a look at the right hand top corner of the MN page: It's full moon today! For me it definitely has an effect on sleep and general mood, i.e. being even more sensitive than usual.
