Here we go..

Chanel Rouge Coco Ballet Russe? I love it. It is very dark though, but lighter than Rouge Noir. Otherwise, and possibly not the best option for a windy day, the Mac lipgloss in Popmode.

notyummy · 03/11/2011 20:58

God that sounds scary Red.

Good to see you Portia.

I have also enjoyed/contributed to the GPs thread.

On train after 5 G and (slimline..) tonics... accompanied by fish and chips Grin. Was running at 0615 this morning so figure there must be some benefits!

pickledsiblings · 03/11/2011 22:08

Thanks for the lowdown on the coat Red, looks rather nice. Unfortunately the length wouldn't work on me...or would it? May have to seek it out in-store, definitely love the navy. Shock at your chequebook fiasco.

Ollie (and Red come to think of it Hmm) I'm sure you were wearing navy coats at the MU. What happened to buying clothes to fill a gap in ones wardrobe? I was explaining this concept along with the 'cost per wear one' to my friend at the weekend whilst she stiffled a laugh. It didn't stop her nicking off with my MW 50 Things You Need To Know (or something like that) brochure though.

NY, glad you had a good evening. Loved the sound of your outfit today Smile. I shredded today for the first time in aaages, boy was it hard work.

Enjoy your men Dolcee, Bloss and Marsha and have a great w/e away Portia.

Off to browse the 11+ forum as it is only 2 weeks to the big day for DD - eek!

FritziGreenEyes · 04/11/2011 07:07

The Zara sequin jacket looks all wrong on me. Back it goes! 99 Euros that I can spend on something else saved. Smile

OllieinOrange · 04/11/2011 08:19

Morning. Boys have a random day off school so lazy day at home planned.

Pickled technically the jacket I wore at the MU was indigo blue Wink but I know what you mean! Am keeping the one I got yesterday (with the big wrap collar), refunding H&M one and quietly disposing of the one I brought last year!!! In fact, I wrote a list of all the coats/jackets I own and it was quite shocking especially when I highlighted the ones I never wear. How many knee length, funnel neck coats does one really need - I have them in blue, black, red and cream tho haven't worn the last 3 for years! I need help!

Red thats annoying about your account. Glad it got resolved but still a hassle.
Bloss Flavia was on ITT last night - her hair is amazing. She shakes her head and it just falls back into place. Wonder who cuts it? (I like her even more after hearing that she can't walk past a chocolate muffin without eating one!)

Has anyone see 'I Dont Know How She Does It'' yet? Wondering if its worth seeing?

OllieinOrange · 04/11/2011 08:31

Is it too soon to share some Christmas pressie ideas? Smile

Have ordered this lego ideas book for DS1 here and the new Deadly 60 book (Predators - hmmm).

Also brought this cute pop up advent calendar and the accompanying book for a friends DD as an early gift here

A teacher friend really rates the Brainbox games here - The My First Pictures one is for younger kids but you can tweak the other ones (eg The World one) so they can join in too.

DS1 is also getting the Addictaball which was recommended on this thread last year I think.

AmberNectarine · 04/11/2011 08:37

I've seen it ollie - enjoyable bit of fluff, won't win any Oscars but is relatively true to the book (though a lot of the deeper stuff is cut), was a pleasant enough way to spend an afternoon!

Dismal weather here and my Cocosa Hunters haven't arrived yet - hope they come today!

Have been having a good think about gaps in my wardrobe and have come up with the following

  • smart coat
  • black leather jacket
  • blazer
  • couple of nice day dresses
  • really nice clutch (though suspect this may have been solved by DH in Anya H)
  • really classic court shoe (thinking Louboutin, because it's an investment right?)
  • sparkly jumper (love red's whistles one but ideally not black)

I have a feeling this could be expensive... Might do a wardrobe sort at the weekend to confirm that is all I need.

redllamayellowllama · 04/11/2011 09:40

Hey, coat police - it was a black, belted cape, alright?! WinkYou'd have to try the coat to be sure - is just above/on the top of my hip.

Ooh nice present ideas there Ollie. Shall nick those for DH's nephews. Enjoy your lazy day with the boys.

Amber looks to be a good list, but, yes, an expensive one as they're nearly all 'investement' bits. Good thing your birthday and christmas loom on the horizon!

Trying to pack and organise the DC for weekend away, but we've reached a point where the house is a complete tip and there's no escaping the mess. Both DC are cranky with colds and each time I pack something, one of them unpacks it or jumps into/onto it. Is. Taking. Hours.

My lovely Saab has just passed it's MOT with flying colours. Each year dh and I cross our fingers that it will be ok. I didn't realise it was possible to be so fond of a car Grin.

Pickled oh big huge good luck to your dd! We are entering a phase of assessment with ds1. He has to pass tests for next schools. Now I love the school he is at (it suits him, and even more, me, absolutely) but 7+ tests are... a strain. Still I would choose to go through it all again for the 3 years at his little school.

Anniemac how's life with your dh around? Love the oven.

notyummy · 04/11/2011 10:47

Marsha - I had an old Saab when I was 23/24 that I loved (it was called Gertie.) I wrote off my previous car in a bad accident and luckily my best friend was a car saleperson at a BMW garage who sold me the Saab for £300. It had come in as part exchamge, was 12 years old, but had only done about 80000 miles....and everything worked on it. It had been owned by quite an elderly couple so no one had ever sat in the back seats - they were pristine. It was big and slightly ungainly, but if you put the back seats down you could sleep in it, fully stretched out (which I did at a few music festivals when my tent proved to be not waterproof enough.) I also fitted pretty much all my wordly goods into it when I joined the RAF.

I loved that car!

MarshaBrady · 04/11/2011 10:55

yy ours has loads of miles. It was a huge risk to buy it, but like a puppy at a pound it said buy me. Quite cheap, yet has a walnut dash and leather seats Grin. Big 9-5. I do love it so. Clever thing for passing.

I'm really happy you are coming to the Christmas do. (the mn one, ignore if you meant another one!).

notyummy · 04/11/2011 11:01

Sorry Marsha - meant my work one! It's such a commute that staying over is the only way I can stay out beyond 8 30.

Ladies - thought I would share this site . Have just bought some decorations, but also useful for gift ideas.

Yes someone in the supermarket was wearing a navy pea coat and plaid scarf. Neat and chic young Japanese girl. Should looked really good in it.

OllieinOrange · 04/11/2011 11:31

On my list is pretty much anything from Avoca - which I saw in the JL cataloge - never heard of them before. Their Loopy Love grey throw is wonderful.
JL range here

And found this scarf on their website which has fastenings so you can wear as a scarf or snood. Clever.
snapper scarf

OllieinOrange · 04/11/2011 11:32

Marsha my car is having its MOT today too! Yours sounds a lot more stylish than mine tho!

MarshaBrady · 04/11/2011 12:01

Good luck for MOT!

Yes went for style over a sensible lower miles option. (whispers 170k when we bought it). My father asks how the car is with every phone call.

MarshaBrady · 04/11/2011 12:01

ahem miles not £.

OllieinOrange · 04/11/2011 12:04

Just posted on the Promotions thread - but does anyone here have a 15% code for M&S that they wont be using? Think cardholders have been sent a code that can only be used once - its not linked to your M&S card tho! My basket is groaning!

AntPants1 · 04/11/2011 13:40

Damm just lost post...

Ollie popped into Zara yesterday. Bought this top

www.zara.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/product/uk/en/zara-W2011/122005/563022/STAR-PRINT%2BTOP

saw some great sequin tops which would be a good alternative to the top shop one (I cant do pale pink either...) these tops were more 'peachy' so easier to wear. I cannt find it on the website though. Sorry.

So how are people's Christmas lists shaping up?

So far I am hoping for
