NJC not sure if you like a funnel neck but Wallis has this teal coat which i saw in a concession last week and thought was v nice ?here

ApuskiDusky · 20/10/2011 21:58

Hello hello!

NJC, my colour twin, I've had a quick trawl, see what you think:

might be too bright a teal

is the collar too big?

plum rather than blackberry

blinking bargain

like this colour

Will keep an eye out.

Oh, Emo, has the 'wearing-t-shirts-under-dresses-to-save-on-drycleaning' worked? I've just bought 6 tshirts from Gap for the same purpose.

ApuskiDusky · 20/10/2011 21:59

Lol Ollie, snap!

redllamayellowllama · 20/10/2011 21:59

Missed that important bit of information Icey - congratulations. Also admire your restraint - I couldn't manage it!

OWW You were right on the Zoo front - DS only criteria for the day were that he wanted to see a Gorilla poo. He's just getting into the scatological thing. Had to stifle my laughter today when we were in the busy deli at lunchtime when rather an unpleasant smell arose (not mine, I hasten to add). DS, LOUDLY : Someone needs to go to the toilet, don't they Mummy?

And yes, excellent haul Amber - must get to Bicester.

OllieinOrange · 20/10/2011 22:21

Not for me but this Monsoon dress would look great on someone else here,

Their black lace dress is lovely too.

FritziGreenEyes · 20/10/2011 22:36

njc Love the Whistles teal coat! Will switch my coat radar on and hopefully we'll find something fab for you!

NJC wrong blue?

...one more coming up...

pickledsiblings · 21/10/2011 08:35

I think this navy one meets the brief

redllamayellowllama · 21/10/2011 08:35

Good luck for today NJC. Fingers crossed you don't end up with the full house.

Am exhausted - DD was up every hour howling and screaming in between - combination of teething and the knock-on effect from her injections. She's got a horrible rash all over her torso today and looks like she's not slept a wink. Strangely, is in good spirits this morning. I, on the other hand...

OllieinOrange · 21/10/2011 08:36

All this coat talk reminded me that a Mum from school has the H&M peacoat in red and it looks amazing on her (she really suits red) here.

Its brrrrrr here this morning. Boys are debuting their new (Boden) snowboard jackets!

OllieinOrange · 21/10/2011 08:38

Boden catch of the day includes animal print belts for anyone still debating getting one?

pickledsiblings · 21/10/2011 08:49

Oh red, what a nightmare - sounds like a stay in and watch a DVD kind of day.

notyummy · 21/10/2011 09:15

Oh Red - sympathies! We never had teething and jabs coinciding but they can both be nasty on their own, so I could quite see how a combination would make your DD poorly. Hope she crashes for a long sleep later to give you a break.

I had my Desigual coat out yesterday for it's first airing this season. I do like it! Wore with cobalt blue top and black hitched/Westwood-a-like skirt (but it was from Asda Blush) and felt pretty good. Not as chilly here today although it is windy so feels quite nippy. I went for a 5 mile run at 6 am yesterday and that was freezing!!

So many lovely links for coats!

FritziGreenEyes · 21/10/2011 09:28

red Be kind to yourself today and take it as easy as possible. Hope you don't have any builders in the house today on top of it all.

Cold here today too. Wearing black Agnes, Breton + grey cashmere jumper and will put on grey Pure jacket and Belstaffs when going out later. Need to get winter tyres sorted for the Mini!

redllamayellowllama · 21/10/2011 12:56

Thanks ladies, you are kind. We did the opposite this morning and had some friends over, went to the lovely low-key playgroup at the top of the road and had them back for lunch. We are all knackered, but DD needed distracting from her malaise. As did I.

Everyone asleep now and think I may do likewise - haven't had an afternoon nap for a looooong time.

Outfits sound lovely NY and Fritzi - as always!

Ollie the red pea coat is gorgeous, I must try it on actually. I always fall for buying navy/black and end up feeling drab.

NJC did you end up thinking or even shouting Bingo?
Annie have a wonderful time en familie! Enjoy your time together.
Red saw your thread about Zoe Ball's top, i think she is doing a really good job in ITT and is wearing some great clothes. She has amazing legs so can rock skinny jeans. Hope you had a good nap, i sometimes really miss my two having a sleep, i loved having a quiet house to recharge!

DH out again this evening with an old school friend. Prosecco and nibbles are calling me.

redllamayellowllama · 21/10/2011 19:35

Hhhmm, I suspect DD has chickenpox - rash getting worse, she is more irritable and off her food. Another night of fun...

Yes Ollie she is doing terribly well, I think. A bit awkward at frst but seems to be getting into her stride. Lovely clothes, but she wears more designer stuff (lots of Marant, I worked out in my quest to find the sparkly top), in contrast to Claudia's Topshop/Warehouse garms. I do miss Claudia though.

Annie I hope you're having a wonderful time with yur family.

DH also out tonight at the rugby (London v Bristol). His friend came round and they headed off together in their rugby shirts and hats, all excited. Have got Mildred Pierce to watch and have heard good things, so v excited.

pickledsiblings · 21/10/2011 19:53

red, glad your day worked out well although by the sounds of it you are in for another rough night, poor DD.

Annie, glad you've got your lovely man home. Some time off next week to all spend together sounds wonderful, hope your boss OKs it.

Fritzi, your outfit today sounds cosy, love the black and grey wintry combo.

icey, great news about the scan Smile.

Ollie, I'd love some prosecco and nibbles. Am about to settle down with 'Going the Distance'. I love a good romcom and Drew Barrymore is v. watchable.

Emo76 · 21/10/2011 19:54

hi everyone. DD2 sleeping a bit better ,still no real consistency but we managed 6am a few times this week, progress! I really appreciate the empathy and support you guys are offering on this one.

apuski yes it works - best I've found are GAP body v necks. massive saving on dry cleaning! sometimes get a bit of a line visible but worth it for me.

red hope it isn't chickenpox - but if it is, the best of luck - hope it passes quickly

I need some new jeans - preferably dark but not transferring indigo dye all over the shop. Mid rise skinny or bootcut I think. Link away you clothes fiends!

FritziGreenEyes · 21/10/2011 20:05

Spent the afternoon in softplay hell. DD loved it of course Smile.

Had too much pizza and red wine for dinner and should really go to bed, because I'm so tired. But it is Friday and I was hoping to make it a bit special. Last sentence is actually addressed at DH who is holed up in his study Confused.

Have finished red Stella-like mini scarf for DD. It's gorgeous and so cosy. Wool only cost 15 Euros!

annie Enjoy your time with DH and the DDs! Fingers crossed you can take some time off work.

red Chickenpox must be awful. Hope the sight of your new lace dress hanging in the wardrobe will cheer you up a bit Smile.

Other than Aigle down coat and snow boots, does anybody have any wishlist items for winter?
