Here we go..

OP posts:
notyummy · 21/10/2011 20:05

I have never watched ITT but when dd was a baby DH used to give her a bottle of EBM at that time of night and would always sneakily watch it in the bedroom. He claimed she (at 4 months...) liked all the sparkles and sequins Hmm. On Saturday he would then come over all know-it-all about the Anerican Smooth (or whatever.) I did point out how sad he was getting and he paused and said 'I know, sometimes I hate myself.' Grin

notyummy · 21/10/2011 20:06

Oh yes, chickenpox. Red- it's not always bad. Dd was fine. Sending soothing vibes to your dd.

redllamayellowllama · 21/10/2011 20:23

Thanks for your kind words ladies - it makes me realise what a mellow little soul she is as she's being so clingy and tearful and I'm not used to it from her at all. Poor little thing. We were meant to be seeing some lovely friends who are down for the weekend tomorrow, but she is 8ms pregnant and not sure it is wise? Will check - she is a no-nonsense nurse, so will tell me straight, am sure. Already feeling it was a little inappropriate to take her to a playgroup this morning Blush.

My favourite indigo skinnies are JBrand 912 in Ink Emo - recommended by Bloss, I think.

God I get so obsessed by it all NY - I have constructed a new bedroom routine solely for the purposes of watching ITT where DD is in bed at 6.30 and DS and I watch ITT together before he has his stories. He loves it and is always commenting on the clothes - 'Ooh, that is a beautiful outfit, Mummy' (he knows this kind of comment elicits a response - such a bad mother). I am so desperate for tickets to go.

Hope DH emerges soon Fritzi. DD's scarf sounds completely adorable, very clever Mummy. This scarf is on my winter wishlist (read Christmas list as I refuse to spend that much on a scarf myself, but will happily receive one Grin).

Rio is great NJC- we all laughed! Am taking dd and her friend to see Dolphin Tale. It was either that or The Smurfs... Hmm.

blossoming · 21/10/2011 22:16

Rio is my favourite children's film so far njc.

Best get to bed and come back sober refreshed tomorrow...

blossoming · 22/10/2011 09:11

Morning all!
Today is my big day and night out. I have decided that midnight is a good winter colour to wear with Agnes, so for lunch with the girls I am wearing the sharkskin agnes with the Wrap midnight spot top and the r&b pewter flats with trench. Then tonight I'm wearing what I wore for MU, only with my chanel bag.
The aigle shirt arrived. I cannot send it back. It is beyond cosy, good length (will cover bum in leggings, just!) Maybe should have sized down. I think the consensus is that Aigle sizing is generous.
Hope you all have lovely weekends. Will hopefully have some lovely links later.

pickledsiblings · 22/10/2011 11:21

outfits sound great bloss although you may need something warmer than the trench - does your pure coat work with agnes

have a great day and night Wink

OllieinOrange · 22/10/2011 13:08

I think the Top Shop sequin top has opened up a whole new side to me - I am now like a magpie and drawn to things with glitter on them! I channelled Zoe Ball on ITT and tried this sequin jacket on in Zara and loved it! Looked great with a simple white vest and black skinnies - but just cant bring myself to buy something Id wear twice a year for 80 pounds but it was lovely! Would be good for my party........?

This peacock top was v pretty too.

Red how is DD today?
Bloss have a super day, looking forward to hearing all about it.

FritziGreenEyes · 22/10/2011 14:52

pickled I sometimes wear a cardi as an extra layer under my trench. Pure jacket looks good with Agnes too IMO.

bloss Have a wonderful day today! Your outfits sound spot-on! Smile

ollie Love the Zara sequin jacket and have tried it on too. You are right about cost per wear of course but maybe you can just find more opportunities to wear it Grin. Think it would look casual enough with simple T and jeans for all sorts of events (school or other) in the run up to Christmas. That peacock top is absolutely stunning and 100% silk too! Buy, buy, buy before it's sold out!

njc Glad your parents' visit went well.

Almost everyone seems to have some sort of issues with their parents and I am currently trying to be a bit more relaxed about mine thinking that I'll probably drive DD round the bend in 20 years' time. That doesn't stop me to come up with a bingo list for my Mum Smile

  • organization of my kitchen cupboards
  • food we eat
  • my weight
  • the "long" distance we live away (listening to my Mum talking about it, you get the impression we live on a different continent, not a mere 2 hour journey by car away)
  • DD's lack of a proper haircut
  • my work (either too much or not really worth talking about Hmm)
  • that we never take DD hiking
notyummy · 22/10/2011 15:33

Love that peacock top. Gorgeous!

Glad the visit went ok NJC.

FritziGreenEyes · 22/10/2011 18:02

Like this navy lace dress from Zara

notyummy · 22/10/2011 18:15

Fritzi- that is gorgeous! I am reminding myself sternly that I already have a lace skirt, and I am never successful with Zara dresses in an effort to stop ne clicking.....

Am wearing my Zara silver cable knit (thoroughly approved of by DH) with my COH black skinnies from Vin.

Hope you are having a great day Bloss. That will be me next weekend- day with DH mooching round the shops before retiring to our Michelin starred restaurant with rooms. Can't wait!!

blossoming · 22/10/2011 19:03

Thanks everyone. I am having a lovely day. I am curled up watching Tess and Alex and thinking WTF? Wearing my snuggly plaid shirt, pulling it off because I have fierce smoky eyes again! Must rember to replicate for fear of being picked up by a tractor when I'm home!
Waiting for Part 2, DH and friends. My friend I saw today has a boho style, is single, just been promoted, rocking a brand new oversized alexa. Well deserved.

FritziGreenEyes · 22/10/2011 19:29

Love this little beauty too

notyummy · 22/10/2011 19:42

Had a great haul from the library today:

When God was a rabbit.
How to be a woman.
The hare with amber eyes.

All for 20p!

Fritzi, the whole bingo list idea is a fab way of being a bit more relaxed about it all - was it an Ollie original??

ApuskiDusky · 22/10/2011 21:38

Hi all, still not completely caught up - have been clearing the loft at the old house all day and back for more tomorrow. With a tinge of regret I have taken all baby clothes to the charity shop, and freecycled or ebayed baby gear I don't need any more. Guess I'm not having another one then!

Red, how's DD doing? Hope she's feeling a bit better.

Bloss, glad you're having a lovely day!

redllamayellowllama · 22/10/2011 23:43

Thanks for all your concern; DD still rather poorly but am not convinced it's chickenpox (DS hasn't had it yet - I'd know by now if it was, right?) but more a reaction to the vaccination (the rash) and teething/a cold combined. Another bad night last night and tonight looks set to be similar. Is in entirely good spirits during the day, so am not overly concerned. Just a bit tired.

Apuski I reckon that task would be tinged with regret whether you were a mother of 1 or a mother of 21. Saying goodbye to that baby stage is hard. Hope you get it all finished tomorrow.

Hope you enjoy your evening Bloss.

Very lovely lace dress Fritzi.

Lovely top Ollie and quite wearable for a range of occasions, I think. Am with Fritzi on this one.

We managed to see our friends today who came to us via the Mulberry outlet. I've somehow convinced DH that a trip there this week for a replacement purse is a good idea. Well done me.

DH out for a drink with aforementioned friends tonight and have finished off Mildred Pierce - heartbreaking at points but brilliant overall. Has anyone else seen it?

Mother bingo is really taking off as a concept. Love it.

FritziGreenEyes · 23/10/2011 10:21

Have just decluttered DD's arts and crafts cupboard. School starts again tomorrow and as lovely as it will be to have some childfree time, I think I'll miss our lazy mornings at home. DD just said she misses her teacher though and I take that as a good sign Smile.

apuski I can totally understand how you feel about throwing out all the baby stuff. But if there is going to be a DC3 for you, you can always get new stuff Wink.

red Have fun outlet shopping today!

pickled Yes, mother bingo was ollie's idea Grin.

notyummy Your library sounds fantastic. Ours is always a bit hit and miss. And of course hardly any English books...

wideawakenurse · 23/10/2011 10:23

Hello all.

Had a busy few days with work and DS has been ill so not been able to post or catch up properly. Apologies if I have missed anyone's news.

red - poor you and poor DD. Do hope she is on the mend soon. Sounds like its a combination of jabs and something viral. Nice work on the Mulberry outlet. Can you let me know what the purse situation is like there as I am still on the look out.

I laughed at Mother bingo, mine is something along the lines of:

-why can't DS eat normal foods
-why did I dare leave our home town
-why can't I be like her friends daughters
-don't I love DS enough? Why do I need a DC2?

Painful.

We had a lovely day yesterday, pizza express for lunch and then a long walk in Richmond park. I thought the shopping in Richmond looked excellent, and also would have loved to go to Petersham nurseries but a) had DS with us and b) I would have never got DH in there. Had a dinner of meze food, and I made Baba Ganoush for the first time, and was very pleased with it. Fell asleep by 9.30 though.

I am going to pick up the NY heals this morning, and am looking forward to a coffee alone. Bliss!

pickledsiblings · 23/10/2011 17:52

hope you enjoyed your coffee wan

it's Wine o'clock here and irish stew for tea, dd has returned from spending the w/e at her best friend's new house and i swear she looks different - more grown up

hope you are all having lovely sundays

pickledsiblings · 23/10/2011 18:26

stew is a bit more irish/chinese fusion since the addition of pak choi Grin

FritziGreenEyes · 23/10/2011 18:44

Back from spending afternoon at our friends' house. Cycled there with DD and back. Stopped on way back home for dinner (and wine). Only eight o'clock here and already feels like middle of the night.

Hope everyone had relaxing Sundays!!!
