Here we go..

Gigs on a Wednesday night? fritzi what a glam life you lead! DH and I watched a scary film so I spent the whole evening hiding my face in his chest and refusing to even go to the kitchen to get a drink. The film involved ghostly noises through baby monitors so I kept eyeing our two with great suspicion.

Unwelcome wake up call at 2.30am to discover the baby had had a bit of an explosion and everything in sight needed stripping and soaking. Thank goodness she was, for once, in her Moses basket. Of course after all that she was wide awake and playful. Sigh.

red I have tried on that jacket a few times, like it a lot. Can't see where it would fit in my wardrobe though - I wear biker boots so much I'd look like a Hell's Angel!

May have to jump on the TS top bandwagon. ollie is a bit of a trendsetter - wasn't it you with the Aigle?

wideawakenurse · 20/10/2011 08:08

Sounds very glam fritzi, glad you had good time.

Sympathies Amber on the broken night, much coffee needed I suspect. I too wear bikers and yes, I know exactly what you mean.

Busy day here today, toddler group this morning at which I'll try and get DS to sit at the craft table and he'll be having none of it!

I am feeling sick at the thought of being less then 24 hours away from being back at work. I need to get out of this cycle of dreading going don't I?

Have good days all, I'll be in TS later for your top red.

ReineDeSaba · 20/10/2011 10:34

Thanks all for kind words about my mum..what lovely ladies you are.

Also did an imaginary airpunch and yeah(American styley Smile )when you all 'supported' me on the American chocolate thing.

Only one more day till we fly so not sure if I will make it back before then to post but am already anticipating Xmas outfit chatter when we return..I am going to take yummy's 'never knowingly underdressed mantra' and run with it.

red and mrscb you already have 'The' lace-dress for the festive season.I did snort when I saw your DH's Debbie Gibson comment..it looked promising up to that point!

amber what a drag of a night..hope you have a relatively serene day.

fritzi you are a little hipster aren't you..the only gigs I seem to go to involve artists even older than me!

Wan really can't think of anything to say to help your situation but I hope when I get back things have settled into a happier place with work.

How cool..another mini-meet for rufus and carciofi good thing you have the aigle for blustery pier!

Emo76 · 20/10/2011 10:45

hi posting in a rush but ants if that top is up for grabs please PM me! back later

FritziGreenEyes · 20/10/2011 11:22

wan So sorry you having such a stressful time with work.

amber Get the coffee machine fired up! Hope your little one takes a long nap today and you can catch up on some sleep too.

red The Zara biker is great and will look fab on you!

Although I enjoyed my night out yesterday a lot, I always have last minute doubts before I go out. Arranging a babysitter as DH was working late... Operating the BBH and painting toenails while making sandwiches for DD and her friend... Every time I get ready to go out (which is not that often I have to add), I seriously doubt whether all the faff is worth it and contemplate cancelling it all and flopping down in front of the TV instead Smile.

redllamayellowllama · 20/10/2011 12:38

Thank you WAN - you shouldn't really be having to do me favours on top of all of your work stress and so on Blush. I'm sorry that you're feeling this way about it all - I know the exact feeling of dread you describe and it is horrible.

Fritzi sounds like a fab evening, well down for summoning up the motivation to get ready and out - always worth it in the end.

Amber hope the day has given you opportunities for rest (yeah, right). Hear you on the biker - it won't work with knee-highs or bikers - too much leather on leather. Ballerinas, possibly Jalouse and shoe-boots (I forgot to report back on their performance - I was in no pain whatsoever after the MU - maybe I can wear heels after all!).

Reine have a wonderful time. DH's offensive remarks are often amusing - he is a very, very funny man. TBH, the Debbie Gibson comment only makes me want it more.

wideawakenurse · 20/10/2011 12:47

Not at all red, DS are going out this afternoon for his haircut and then a coffee, so we really will be passing TS. To be honest, I like having something to do on days like this rather than wandering randomly around the town. Wise to be thinking of a potential leather over-kill. You don't want to look like an extra from 'Easy Rider'. Wink

Thank you for you all your nice words. I think I just need to hang on in there for now and then make plans to ensure I don't go back there after my mat leave.

Have a fantastic time Reine and a safe journey.

DS is wearing my R&B flats. Accessorised with a pasta necklace made a toddler group. His beer drinking/football loving/blond appreciating father will not be impressed. Grin

IceCreamCastles · 20/10/2011 15:28

Quick wave to everyone!

Can't keep up but will try to read through the latest at the weekend.

All good here. Had 20 wk scan last week. Everything fine with baby and resisted finding out sex.

AmberNectarine · 20/10/2011 17:02

Well, a reasonably succesful day at Bicester, I have returned with:

a grey cashmere n.peal cable hat
a grey dkny cosy
a green and silver glittery Missoni scarf
anthracite Wolfords

Also suspect DH may have bought me the glittery Anya Hindmarch clutch I made a noise about for my birthday because I saw the black and White stripey bag stuffed in amongst the shirts he bought

tried on some fab Mulberry leopard print jeans but they exacerbated my gave me sausage legs. Also tried on a million coats - why is it so hard to find one?

Thanks to all for your sympathies, as you can see I've taken it easy today!

wan I really sympathise, I am dreading my return to work - really considering the SAHM option now.

reine your trip sounds awesome - enjoy!

icey great news and well done on the restraint! I had early scans with both to find out.

Oh and fritzi I always feel that way before a night out!

blossoming · 20/10/2011 19:44

Good shopping amber!
Sorry you're both feeling down about a return to work wan and red and amber.
Glad you had a good night out fritzi. I need to lie down just thinking about next Saturday. Why does everything have to happen at once? I have make up booked again. Addictive indeed!
Such a lovely day today in my Aigle! What a fabulous coat. It was -1C this morning so I had to wear it as I scraped the windscreen. It comes to the bottom of my skirts, and I felt great in it all day. Like I was wrapped in a sleeping bag, but still stylish.
It is practically half term. Although I have to go in tomorrow, there are no lessons to plan, then a whole week off. Bliss. You don't get the half term feeling, or even the Friday feeling when you're a sahm!
Hope you're DH is feeling better red. Sorry to hear of his loss too. You looked fantastic in the MU, glad your feet didn't complain!

petitdonkey · 20/10/2011 20:08

carciofi I have those CdeC boots in the tan colour and love them. They are great with skinny trousers/jeans but lovely with a dress and opaques. I really want to buy the burgundy colour but can't due to my no shopping bet!! Please get them.... Smile

Shame you weren't at MU to see the lovely display of coloured tights NJC! What a pity about the coat. The purple one looks more like my purple in the photo, like royal purple. But you never know!
So excited for you.

FritziGreenEyes · 20/10/2011 20:42

bloss Your plans for Saturday sound great! I'm a bit addicted to getting my hair blow-dryed for big nights out Smile.

njc My sympathies for the visit tomorrow. Are they going to stay the night or is it "just" for the day? Just got off the phone with my sister. We both had to rant about our Mum for a bit Blush.

It is definitely autumn here but I am still resisting the duvet coat which I need for really cold days! Having red wine, knitting a scarf for DD and watching Wagner's Rheingold on TV. They had people in huge watertanks on the stage with water gushing out. Now there is one guy in a futuristic Star Wars-type costume driving around the stage on a Sedgeway Grin. Love it!

FritziGreenEyes · 20/10/2011 20:43

njc What kind of colours do you like for your new coat?

Am watching the fades on I player. May need to sleep with the light on!.......

blondassassin · 20/10/2011 21:15

Hi ladies, you probably don't remember me as I post so infrequently, but I've a coat link for you NJC, Massimo Dutti here. I'm not sure it would be fitted enough for you, but the colour would be good I reckon and wool/cashmere content is high.
Hope you are all well, I'm still loving all your chat and links although not posting often. Smile

blossoming · 20/10/2011 21:15

The teal one is very nice njc. Investment piece? Classic? Cost per wear??

Meant to say earlier ants, I'm sure the TS top would look great with your colouring too.

redllamayellowllama · 20/10/2011 21:16

How exciting NJC. Outfit dilemma indeed though. This in the teal probably doesn't check every box, my friend tried it on and it was gorgeous - very classic indeed.

Thanks Bloss - for your compliments and sympathies both.

Fritzi you sound like an advert for Autumn - can just picture you with all your seasonal decorations. Makes me want red wine too.

Am feeling a bit fat and frumpy at the moment - think I need to un-earth The Shred from the box it still languishes in...

notyummy · 20/10/2011 21:33

Ants- is good, no? But yes, quite scary!

Good luck on the coat quest NJC. Such exciting news and 3 weeks to choose an outfit.

blossoming · 20/10/2011 21:43

Hi blondassassin! Good to see you. Love that coat, and red's, although do you need something more fitted njc?

OllieinOrange · 20/10/2011 21:47

NJC thats great about your interview, let us all know if we can be of any help? Feel free to play your own version of my Mother-Bingo game - think of say 5 things which you just know will come up in conversation tomorrow and then as they do, mentally tick them off and then think BINGO when you reach the 5th! My list always includes the state of our garden, our small kitchen, DSs eating habits, not being able to park outside the house , i could go on, and on, and on! Try it, it helps me get through a tough visit.

Amber - Bicester sounded lovely and i loved the sound of what you brought. Fingers crossed its the clutch your DH was hiding.

Icey so pleased the scan went well. Admire your restraint, i found out both times, altho with DS2 it was so obvious he was a boy, the nurse said there was no way she could have given us a pic if we didnt want to know. 'it' was sticking right up, DH actually said "thats my boy"!)
WAN loved the sound of the pasta necklace, does that mean DS made it to the craft table today Smile
Fritzi - understood exactly what you mean about getting ready to go out. Sometimes its all such a faff but more often than not worth it.

Pickled - hooray for Pickled Jr's

notyummy · 20/10/2011 21:53

Oooh yes- I also liked the sound of your haul Amber!
