Here we go..

OP posts:
notyummy · 19/10/2011 14:02

boots! Although there is nothing wrong with a good bot......

FritziGreenEyes · 19/10/2011 14:29

ollie Glad you are ok!!! Will get myself to TS website and place order immediately before the new stock is all gone again Smile

FritziGreenEyes · 19/10/2011 14:43

Oh, just saw that TS offers FREE WORLDWIDE DELIVERY on orders over £75. Think I'll easily find something else to put in my basket to reach that amount, thereby "saving" £5, err not Grin.

OllieinOrange · 19/10/2011 15:09

NY your M&S shoes in nude have been in and out of my basket all week! What sort of nude are they? Do they have more of a pink or beige tone if that makes sense? I loved brownies/guides etc and even got to have a couple of international trips with them as a teenager (my first love was a blonde Swede I met at a big international camp!!!).

Reine thats so sad about your Mum. Im sorry. Trip to the States sounds wonderful. American expats over here bemoan the loss of Reese Peanut Butter Cups!
Fritzi can really see you in the top. Hope you get one. Impressed with the xmas planning - Im struggling for ideas this year. The boys already have so much lego and playmobil and my sisters buy what they like all year round so are v hard to buy for.
Amber Bicester will be great. Hope you get some bargains! Very pretty FC dress. Love hats on others - they just dont suit me but wear a grey cable knit one when its really cold and just avoid all eye contact!
Emo dress sounds a winner. Do you have a link?
NJC good luck with the application and the coat! Cake sounds a lovely idea.

Red we used to have a zoo pass and it paid for itself in no time, esp using the aquarium on rainy mornings. Remember how they reacted whenever they caught sight of an animal going to the loo - eyes popped out on stalks when they saw an elephant having a wee!
Marsha forgot you were jetting off to summy climes - have a lovely relaxing hols.
Annie that WC dress is adorable. Lucky DD!

notyummy · 19/10/2011 15:15

I would say a more pinky nude Ollie.

carciofi · 19/10/2011 16:12

Theweek, my Aigle just arrived, it is a great coat. I definitely wouldn't size up, the 12 is roomy.

rufus101 · 19/10/2011 17:19

You poor thing Ollie. So glad your mind has been put at rest. Reine, that's so sad about your mum, I can see what a milestone your significant birthday is. I love Reese peanut butter cups too. Nigella has a great recipe which comes close, which would salve the appetites of those ex pats Ollie.
CARCIOFI glad you have found the dream coat. My HH arrived yesterday. Really like it. If anything, wish it was slightly more roomy. Still need a warmer one though
Well done fashion fairy Wan! Superwoman you are indeed!

theweek · 19/10/2011 17:21

Whit woo! Thank you Carciofi - again keep up the excellent work and links.......or not as my husband would say!

wideawakenurse · 19/10/2011 18:22

theweek I have a Aigle too, agree that you do not need to size up.

carciofi, so glad you like it too, it really is a great coat.

Notjust, I am so excited for you! I think you would be an amazing colour consultant...this could be the start of some very exciting times for you. I am up for a group session with red.

Like the biker red. I have a New Look pleather one, that I wear loads and would like to, at some point, upgrade to to real thing. The only thing I would suggest is trying on another one that has traditional lapels for a collar. I am not keen on a circle collar, but thats just because they don't suit me as I have a round/football shaped face. Grin

fritzi sympathy here too, a bad case of PMT is rotten. Hope it passes soon for you.

Have fun at Bisceter Amber tomorrow.

Funnily enough Reine I can't wait for DS to be older for things like Halloween. I have dreams of us carving pumpkins and making toffee apples together etc. I suspect the reality will be different though! I laughed at the idea of the 6'4'' 14 year old with 'tude though. Smile

It was my total pleasure ollie. It will be winging it's way to you tomorrow morning. Glad that you got the all clear from the mammogram. Wise words too from yourself and Reine.

For anyone else that likes the TS top but can't get hold of it, I am happy to help anyone else. Re sizing, I'd say its true to size, no need to size up thank goodness!!

I am a bit stressed as I might have to work over Christmas. I have asked for some leave, as I need to take leave to get the bank holidays off, (such is being pro rata) and so given I'll be 30 weeks then, I'd like to have two weeks off to relax a bit while DH is around. However, its looking likely I'll have to work. I was really tearful about it on the way home, mainly because I feel that some peoples issues with me taking the leave is about me being part time in the first place. I hate this need to prove my credibility all the time, despite the fact I still have the same workload as I did when I was full time! Rant over, though.

DH out tonight playing golf so looking forward to a meal of chilli and garlic prawns. I should tackle the mountain of ironing, but sofa and location, location, location sounds like a much better plan.

redllamayellowllama · 19/10/2011 18:53

WAN i might need to take you up on your offer - popped out to get DS' hair cut, came back and it's sold out. Grrr. Would you mind terribly - out of stock in Bristol. Sorry to hear work's causing issues - its still a way off, i know, but at least maternity leave is on the horizon to help you gain perpective on exactly what you want to be doing. Sod the ironing btw.

So glad you've finally got a coat you love Carciofi.

Ollie you must have been beside yourself. Thank goodness.

Reine i'm so sorry to hear about your Mum. DH reached the same 'landmark' this year. Be good to yourself.

ReineDeSaba · 19/10/2011 18:58

Just the lady I was looking for ( wan ) sorry I misappropriated your good deed for ollie to someone else!

Sorry you are struggling to get the leave you need,I am sure it is well documented that when you work part time you always end up doing a lot of extras to show your dedication..not very fair Sad

by the way..I always love the sound of your dinners..I was soo lazy about cooking when I was pregnant, very impressed!

rufus I love that nigella recipe and tastes better than the reeses ones in my (english!) opinion because you can use nicer chocolate but DH misses his waxy American chocolate Grin

redllamayellowllama · 19/10/2011 19:01

Reine we went camping with some American friends who raved about Smores. They made them with American chocolate and really bigged them up. They were vile - tasted like vomit.

blossoming · 19/10/2011 19:01

You poor thing wan, I'm sure that's all you need.
The patients will be very lucky to have you though.

ollie, so glad things are okay. I hate this getting older, having dependents anxiety.

reine, really sorry to hear you lost your mum. Hope you have a lovely time stateside.

So do you agree with me about the Aigle carciofi? I can't believe you colour your hair!

Anyone else feel cold today? I was on a course, and it was sunny and dry when I left. I wore davina again (3 times this week, just love it so much!) but with boots this time. With a charcoal scarf and my trench. DH said it would not rain. I arrived and it was throwing it down and freezing. I had no hat, no brolly, no hood. And that is unlike me to be so unprepared. I ended up wrapping my scarf round my head, like a turban. A good look I'm sure you'll agree! But managed to salvage my hair.

Yipee, there is room at the inn. Well an expensive 5* inn... So excited. This means that when I leave my friends in the afternoon, I shall have the rest of the afternoon, till DH and other friends arrive, TO MYSELF!!! Cannot wait.

DS poorly again. Acting the dying swan. Sore throat and headache. Roll on half term.

DH away, so home alone with internet to myself. Need to do some browsing before Saturday! Back later.

carciofi · 19/10/2011 19:13

Lol at acting the dying swan! Bloss, I really like the coat, third time lucky. I am annoyed with myself for wasting £140 on the DKNY and returning the North Face but hopefully I will make some money back on eBay. I noticed one or two grey hairs recently (eek) and so dyed my hair its natural colour, if that is not a contradiction in terms. Wink Have a great time in Chester.

What do you think of these boots, instead of the CdeC boots? The Timberland boots are waterproof.

Latherrinserepeat, did you get my pm? I am happy to forward the email, just send me your email address.

Great jacket, Red.

I agree with you all about the American chocolate. Anyone who visited me had to bring Cadburys. Smores are sickening.

Wan, sorry you are having a tough time at work.

redllamayellowllama · 19/10/2011 19:25

I prefer the Timberlands - the CdeC ones are a bit of an odd length, i think. Timberland's more versatile, i reckon.

Your DS and my DH Bloss. End of half-term-itis, i reckon. Yay to 5* nights away. One day, one day...

wideawakenurse · 19/10/2011 19:51

red - I'll pm you.

I love the colour of the the Timberland boots carciofi. I suppose it depends on how you plan to wear them I personally find ankle boots easier to wear with both trousers and dresses.

Good for you Bloss, how lovely. It will be great to have some browsing time to yourself. Hope DS is feeling better soon.

Reine, I only make an effort when DH is out as its the few times I get to eat something that doesn't contain mince.

For anyone on the look out for blouses this is lovely.

carciofi · 19/10/2011 20:14

That is a lovely blouse, Wan. Probably I'll mostly wear them with jeans.

Rufus, glad you got a coat you like too. I've put your number in my phone and will text you next week ... see you on the pier!

After I spent the morning cleaning and cooking dinner for my mil (in fairness she is very nice and wouldn't expect me to do it), she is coming tomorrow instead and DH is also out celebrating the end of his project. I think a glass of wine is in order.

AntPants1 · 19/10/2011 20:14

I have the ollie top shop top in a 14 if anyone wants it. Otherwise will take back to top shop.
X

blossoming · 19/10/2011 20:36

That sounds lovely carciofi. I may open the wine myself. Hope you have a lovely time in Ireland and manage a meet up with rufus. I am green with envy!
Boots are weird aren't they? Especially the Timberland ones. I find it strange that they have put quite a high heel on their waterproof ones. I am desperate for waterproof boots, but I need to be able to walk miles in them!

Thanks for mentioning my chalet girl outfit reine. I noticed everyone else was very quiet on the subject! Couldn't possibly buy it, but I would so love to!

latherrinserepeat · 19/10/2011 21:40

THanks carciofi and yes have pm'd you. Meant to say good luck with teething x

notyummy · 19/10/2011 21:42

Emo- can you link to your slinky Gok dress?

pickledsiblings · 19/10/2011 22:04

i was wondering about that dress too ny

carciofi, glad to hear that your dh has finished his latest project, have a lovely time in ireland - you'll be needing the aigle i'm sure

red, i'm not sure about the round neck on the leather jacket, prefer the traditional biker style which i am sure would look fab on you. would you need to be able to do it up, i have one that i couldn't if i tried. just go for a good fit across the shoulders.

parents' evening tonight for the boys, apparently they are very polite and well mannered...phew...

[big wave to everybody else]

MrsCampbellBlack · 19/10/2011 22:07

OK whose broken topshop online!

OWW - have your sequin top on order and saw a lovely pintuck one on their very 'the screw that turned' but site then crashed.

Red - the whistles dress is so lovely isn't it - am planning on wearing for a couple of christmas parties.

Carciofi - I have the cdec boots and love them - very comfortable and have worn them loads.

redllamayellowllama · 19/10/2011 22:55

Pickled and WAN I bow to your superior biker wisdom. I tried this one on on Saturday which I quite liked, but DH gave me a 'don't be so ridiculous' look and referenced Debbie Gibson. Not such a bad thing...

MrsCB I just love it. Did you wear it for your weekend away?

Well done your boys Pickled.

Carciofi you sound to be a very reasonable DIL (unlike moi), hope you enou having MIL with you.

Have just been watching 8 Boys and Wanting More randomly on 4OD. Found it more than a little worrying.

FritziGreenEyes · 19/10/2011 23:49

Managed to squeeze my PMT-bloated body into Agnes and dragged myself to concert with up and coming German band (Frida Gold if anyone is interested). Should have known when I found out about the location that there won't be any seats . I really really enjoyed it and wish I could go out more often!

Too tired to read thread but will catch up with you all tomorrow.

Night night!
