Right, looks like im looking at a 12 or 14 then! Now chuckling to myself for even wondering about a 10! Rational thinking goes out the window when i am on a shopping mission! Thanks for your thoughts.

annie Had bookmarked that WC dress for DD but wasn't available in her size anymore.

ollie Forgot to say the other day that a meet up in Delft would be lovely! Can see us all sashaying in parks full of tulips or among Vermeer paintings, eating waffles and so on. Must not get carried away Grin.

Morning all

Back from a lovely trip to Centreparcs and a quick visit to Bath to see BIL who runs a pub there. Not a very stylish few days due to the limitations of uphill cycling towing a baby in a trailer but did squeeze in a trip to the CP spa which was lovely!

Not much W&A activity to report - popped into Bath for a browse but didn't buy anything. Have my eye on this coat and this dress Am holding off though as DH is taking me to Bicester tomorrow (yay!)

Bought a sweet little cream puff sleeve jumper (called Jessie for anyone who can bear the arseache of looking on the website) from Whistles in the sale before I went. It sadly now has a big yellow streak on it where the baby, ahem, left her mark.

One thing I have realised is that I need an ear covering hat pretty soon as I get terrible earache in even the slightest cold. Trying to find one that doesn't make me look like a numpty is another challenge altogether! This will be an especially wise purchase as we have booked to go back to CP at Christmas time.

Glad to here it is not to early for Xmas list! Will collate and post may take some time

ollie will keep my eye out for that top on my travels, I tend to get a TS 12 on top due to not being 13 and having breasts.

red great dress, would buy in a heartbeat it I had any occasion to wear it!

Morning all. Lovely morning here, but chilly! Just phoned my mothers help to tell her where all the gloves are stashed so DD can have some on for the school run. She loved Rainbows last night, although she was quite tired from school and the injections. They sang Ging Gang Goolie and did some colouring so all good as far as she was concerned. I was a bit Hmm about the names for the adult helpers (Princess Bear; Frosty Bear etc...) but DH says I am a wizened old cynic and that it's no worse than Brown Owl. I suppose he's probably right!

Wearing a Phase Eight grey Poderosa dress with lace tights and heels this morning, plus a aquamarine wool Jigsaw jacket (same one I was wearing at the meet-up...that I kept leaving behind me everywhere after a few drinks Blush.)

No side effects from the jabs yet for DD...hope that she can hold out for the last day before the holiday tomorrow!

Hope you all have great days.

VerityBrulee · 19/10/2011 09:19

Ollie I'm going into town this morning, there are 2 TS in the area, I will look for a 12 or 14.

Fritzi I could have written your post last week, I was horrifed by my tummy, swore I'd never eat chocolate again. All back to normal now though. I don't think there's anything you can do really, except have a couple of nice outfits with elasticated waists Shock

this is the yarn I'm using for the scarf, in the raisin colour, 3rd colour along on the top row. I've doubled it and am using 5.5 mm needles. I need a knitting project when it's cold, if I've too much time on my hands I just shop compulsively on the internet.

OK off to TS, have lovely days everyone Smile

FritziGreenEyes · 19/10/2011 09:26

annie Indeed! DD and I are also big fans of PJ days Smile

Welcome back amber!

notyummy Glad to hear that DD is well after stressful day for her yesterday.

verity I'm in "lounge pants" today as I'm cleaning the windows to put up our autumn decorations. I'm going to a concert tonight with a friend so guess I'll have to change clothes at some point today. Love the wool for your scarf!

carciofi · 19/10/2011 09:39

Annie, it is really kind of you to offer but I have a snowsuit and two coats for her for the next size up. I think she is teething already!

Blossoming, great idea on the posters. I ordered the Pure Collection merino poloneck. I bought no warm jumpers last year.

Amber, ear muffs? I used to wear them a lot in the US, you can get some nice fake fur ones. Enjoy Bicester,.

Fritzi, what concert are you going to? Enjoy!

I got an invitation to a sale at Comptoir, 30% off Thurs-Sunday. I am thinking about the red boots they have. I may try to persuade DH that I need them.

Got to clean, make lasagne and dye hair, see you later.

ReineDeSaba · 19/10/2011 10:08

morning!

Thank you everyone for getting excited about Halloween in the States with me..last year we flew back the day before so we got the run up but not the main event..think DH will be happy too as every year he forlornly stashes 'candy' in case our neighbours trick or treat and I am innerly relieved when we don't open the door to a 6 4' 14year old with 'tude..

marsha sun And luxury,enjoy!

annie thanks for link..wow that dress is gorgeous isn't it!

NJC I am soooo thrilled for you..am sure you will be brilliant at it.

emo are you getting any better sleep yet..I have no tips I'm afraid, just bad experiences as well.

yummy your DD is a total trooper Smile

fritzi lots of sympathy re-pmt,am glad you escaped it over your London trip,be gentle to yourself.

Another one who wears bigger sizes in TS,who can fit into their 6 Shock

amber I would like to wear bloss's chalet girl jacket with earmuffs but think that would drive even my laid back DH to despair Wink

Emo76 · 19/10/2011 10:11

Popping in to say LOVE LOVE LOVE my sucky-inny Gok Sainsburys black chinese style dress . Love it. Great price.

ReineDeSaba · 19/10/2011 10:12

Back later

redllamayellowllama · 19/10/2011 12:45

Afternoon all!

Good to see you Amber, glad you had a lovely holiday. I have no idea when I'm going to be wearing the dress, but after trying it on, couldn't not get it, iykwim.

Am loving Ollie's army of personal shoppers! No joy in my TS, which is annoying as would have quite liked it for myself too!

Very creative cake-making NJC, we're de-camping to Shropshire for DS' birthday to escape the mess here - my BF is throwing DS a party.

Lovely, lovely morning here - we've become members of the zoo and got there very early this morning when there was barely anyone else around and all of the animals were being fed. Really, really sweet. Although did badly in not protecting DS from the visual of a snake pouncing on a dead mouse (was busy observing sloths with DD). He may be mildly traumatised. Think we will be heading back often.

Am very much considering the Whistles Biker (will be a present), but need to be very sure. Thoughts?

We had a meeting with our electrician last night, who is so lovely and has come up with all sorts of creative and interesting lighting ideas for the extension. He seems to share my aesthetic, which is good as if DH has his way we'd have Dan Flavin-esque pieces all over the wall.

redllamayellowllama · 19/10/2011 12:49

Whistles biker here.

OllieinOrange · 19/10/2011 13:27

WAN Mowah! Thats great -am so, so happy. Will PM you now. Thank you - and for everyone else thats been out looking for me (LOL at Ollie's Army Red - I like the sound of that!).

If the 12 doesn't fit, I'll come back on here for any takers?

Big relief here - have had a worrying pain just under my right arm/boob area for a few weeks. Have had a couple of Drs appointments who seemed quite relaxed about it as they couldn't feel any lumps but on the last visit they referred me to a consultant. Rang yesterday and was able to get an appointment this morning where they did a mammography and a ultrasound and thankfully everything was clear. They still dont know what is causing the pain (only mild) but its such a relief to rule out anything sinister. The mammography was 'interesting' - they literally squash the boob between 2 plastic plates - wince! The machine was pink which made me smile and helped me relax (actually though I must remember to tell W&A that!)

Drs all lovely and it was nice to get the results straight away - although I did have a heart stopping moment when they called me back into a different room for the (unplanned) ultrasound but all ok. Phew.

Would urge you all to check or get checked regularly and not to ignore any niggles. I have been worrying myself silly and was on the verge of tears everytime I looked at DS's all this week

Will catch up properly now - with a big smile on my face x

OllieinOrange · 19/10/2011 13:29

Sequin tops back in stock online Red and Fritzi?

carciofi · 19/10/2011 13:33

Ollie, I am glad you are ok.

notyummy · 19/10/2011 13:39

So pleased you are ok and got it checked Ollie. And now you have your top courtesy of WAN your joy can be unconfined Grin

I have to confess to ordering a cheap pair of black bots (kind of 'worker' style.) I have chunky grey flat ankle boots and have been getting a lot of wear out of them so decided I needed similar in black.

Now I REALLY don't need to buy anything else!!

ReineDeSaba · 19/10/2011 13:59

Am slightly alarmed at yummy's black bots Grin

have just been to supermarket to score jaffa cakes and bourbons for American brothers-in-law.. fritzi my U.S shoplist usually consists of 'as many peanut morsels as I can fit in the spare suitcase'

well done fashion fairy ants

a great relief ollie on both counts..I have annual mammograms because of family history and from what I've been led to believe pain is rarely a signifier so please be vigilant regardless(squeezes next to ollie on soapbox)my next birthday will be my personal big one as I will reach an age my mother didn't so very important to do your own regular checks.

on a lighter note, really love the sound of the cake njc ..chocolate buttons get me every time!

red hope DS recovered from zoo trauma!
