Can someone link to the whistles lace..how have I managed to miss it..

We are off for early thanksgiving stateside next week so am busy trying to tie up loose ends/pack etc before we leave..am very excited for the girls as their first Halloween there.

annie I am not a fan of asymmettry when it involves hems..I worry it will look as though I have partially tucked said item into pants.

that penguin wallpaper is gorgeous ants ..incredibly cute.

glad to had a fab time in london fritzi and the D and G is very sexy.

red was the whistles skirt long or midi..primark had both versions but probably best for someone not very tall.

Good luck with that, Petit! I could do with joining you too but have a few more things on my list.

Theweek, my Aigle is being delivered tomorrow and I am also a 12 so will let you know. I think Blossoming found it true to size.

I had a quick trip to Richmond this morning and got a few things in the Gap for my DDs (including a cute little snowsuit for the baby, sounds like she will need it in Ireland, Verity!). I saw a really nice navy knitted dress in M&S (where I was in buying Christmas decorations!) but no time to try on, also wanted to go to Jigsaw but didn't make it.

Grazia have a 30% off voucher for Gap this week.

NY, I feel so sorry for your DD. I was hospitalised several times with double pneumonia as a child and am rarely ill now, so hopefully she will grow out of it. I tried to spend my £10 voucher in L'Occitane, oops! There is a Molton Brown nearby so managed to use it.

Reine, have a great trip to the good ole US of A!

carciofi · 18/10/2011 13:44

NotJustClassic, very exciting news! The boots look very snuggly.

carciofi · 18/10/2011 13:45

Red, the dress is lovely. It would be indecently short on me, unfortunately. :(

pickledsiblings · 18/10/2011 13:54

NJC, that is soooo exciting, best of luck with it all Smile

Reine, have fun trick or treating Charlie Brown-style (I have seriously never written Charlie Brown before and my brain finds it weird!!!)

Verity, lol at you wearing M&S kids' thermal tights, I do that too Grin.

redllamayellowllama · 18/10/2011 13:54

Wow NJC - so exciting. If all goes well, we can make an A&W group booking! The boots look like they'll be lovely and warm.

The snowsuit is gorgeous Carciofi - love them. DD is days away from walking and seem to remember they were a hindrance for DS, so won't be getting one. Layering of tights, I think. I think Whistles are one of the few shops that cut dresses for short-arses (like me!).

Reine - I have a long one form River Island, but think it is more to do with the waistband than the length tbh - my waist is quite small, but they make me look huge. Have a wonderful, wonderful time in the US.

Annie I am no stranger to the posting of pics, will gladly do so, but am currently in my new glasses trying to get used to the prescription and am too vain to be photgraphed in them. Pathetic, I know - the legacy of childhood bullying.

Hello from somewhere very luxurious and warm! Smile

Yes kept black dress. I really liked it, good for pre-Christmas parties etc

Yes Verity tis the scarf. I made some alterations to pattern.

Wave to everyone!

FritziGreenEyes · 18/10/2011 15:57

notyummy Hope DD is ok after flu and pneumonia jabs.

red Boo hiss to school bullies. Think the lace dress can look very chic with the right pair of glasses Smile.

marsha Enjoy the sunshine!

njc Ohhh, that is so exciting! Good for you!!!

reine Have a great time! Any items on your shopping list while you are there?

petit Love the wallpaper! Good look with your challenge. Think I would buy a different deodorant or toothpaste every week just to compensate. Or go crazy with grocery shopping Blush. Are you allowed books?

portia Please distract me from tons of laundry with links of your new purchases Grin.

verity Will get my knitting needles out and join you. Need to buy wool first. Which colour is yours?

ollie/carciofi and everyone else who can bear to think about Christmas at this time of the year: Bought all presents for my in-laws and parents. Have also arranged date for cutting our tree on the last Sunday in November Grin.

notyummy · 18/10/2011 16:32

NJC - Very exciting! Perhaps I can book in one time when I am down at my folks? (I think they probably only about 30 mins from your neck of the woods.)

Reine - I am sure Halloween in the States will be great! I always think of ET with the streets full of kids trick or treating and al the great costumes.

Am jealous of the warmth Marsha.

Thanks for all the good wishes for DD. She was a little trouper and made no fuss - just shed a few tears as the first needle went in - however they disappeared when the nurse re-appeared with some chocolate! More jabs and blood tests in 6 weeks, but all for a good cause and she is healthy just now. Fingers crossed!

blossoming · 18/10/2011 17:32

theweek, I have a Barbour in a 12, and I'd say the Aigle is slightly more generous. I would have liked to try the 10 on, just to see.

Home for a bit then back out to parents evening. Tired. But wearing chalkstripe davina and therefore invincible!!

njc, that is terrific! Everything crossed for you.

notyummy, glad your dd was okay. Brave girl

notyummy · 18/10/2011 18:20

Waves at theweek - hello!! Didn't answer as can in no way help with aigle sizing, but nice to hear from you.

blossoming · 18/10/2011 18:26

Back at school. Had a brainwave on Saturday night after a few Wine, and am now looking at lovely Luc Besson film posters instead of dirty walls in my classroom. How much do I love my amazon app?

theweek · 18/10/2011 19:56

Thanks for the replies-I think I will order 2 sizes from John L and then can easily return-HATE paying return postage
Really glad your daughter coped brilliantly with her blood tests NotYummy-horrible for you to have to deal with.
Again-keep up the excellent work-you should all get commission!

pickledsiblings · 18/10/2011 21:18

Marsha, have a great holiday Smile.

FritziGreenEyes · 18/10/2011 21:20

Have just ordered this dress for DD.

bloss You must be the most glamorous teacher on the block. You'll have parents queueing outside your classroom Wink.

Have the worst PMS ever, argh! Any tips to relieve bloating (sorry if TMI), but I almost couldn't do up my Goldsign jeans this morning!?!? Yes, it is that bad...

OllieinOrange · 18/10/2011 21:32

I have a shopping dilema!
The lovely, lovely Ants has tracked down that Top Shop top I was drooling over yesterday but they only have size 10's in store. I never shop in Top Shop and am definately more of a 12 (if not 14) in say Warehouse. Would I get away with a 10 in top&pageSize=20 this? Be honest now. The reviews range from saying its true to size, on the small size and on the big size - so who knows! Im not fussed about it being on the short side but am wondering if it would be too clingy over my tum.
WWYD - or rather what would you ask Ants to do if you were me?!!!!

Sorry for the me post.

blossoming · 18/10/2011 21:41

It looks like it would be a loose fit top ollie. You could buy it then ebay it if it doesn't fit. Bound to be popular. I can look for you in Chester on Saturday if you want?
DH has agreed to stay over there. Think the hotel I want is fully booked though. Will find out tomorrow.
Thank you Fritzi, not sure the farmers would agree with you though!
Let us know how you get on theweek. It really is a lovely coat.

blossoming · 18/10/2011 21:43

Lovely dress fritzi. I am tempted with the red colourway for my dd. She is such a ragamuffin, but her temperament changes when I put her in a dress!

FritziGreenEyes · 18/10/2011 21:50

ollie Gorgeous top! Get it and if you don't like it, send it my way. Grin

florenceuk · 18/10/2011 21:58

Olli, I always buy a 12 in tops in Top shop and I am usually a 10 in e.g. Jigsaw (ie not a "real" 10 but a modern 10).
