Here we go..

OP posts:
blossoming · 17/10/2011 16:43

Final word on the butternut squash and red onion. I come home at 4 on a wet and windy Monday, and in 5 mins I'm eating leftovers, stirred through couscous, and covered in gravy. It's not pretty, but it is delicious!!

ollie, you should definitely contact them.

Glad you had a good time fritzi, and good to have you back.

Sorry apuski, have looked but nothing.

blossoming · 17/10/2011 17:50

The weather today is just dreadful. I want some waterproof boots that are not a. my hunters or b. my snowboots.
I like these Something familiar about the name too!
Another thing I like today, and you may well laugh, is this I must have lived in a chalet in a previous life. (By the way, I enjoyed Chalet Girl on Saturday night!)
Winter is well and truly here.

OllieinOrange · 17/10/2011 19:15

Anyone watching The One Show - I NEED Alex Jones top - am going to email the BBC - thats a first!

wideawakenurse · 17/10/2011 19:34

It's really pretty Ollie. She is on twitter, as MissAlexjones, you could ask her directly. (Not that I would have a clue how to do it)

The Aigle is lovely red, very warm and structured for a padded coat. I can't wait to wear it.

Sounds like winter has hit you Bloss. Thank you for the squash recipe.

Good to have you back fritzi, glad you had a good trip.

I ordered the NY shoes today in black.

I am so tired tonight. Waiting for DH to finish working upstairs before I start dinner. Pasta Carbonara, carb and cream fest and then bed.

wideawakenurse · 17/10/2011 19:36

Ollie, just seen your other thread about the top being from topshop. I can have a look for it in store this week if you like? Will PM.

FritziGreenEyes · 17/10/2011 19:54

portia I love this D&G dress with lace detail

PORTIA4 · 17/10/2011 19:55

Bloss my sentiments exactly about the Outnet!
I had some successful shopping in Birmingham today, will post links later, got a really nice dress in FC, and 2 tops to wear with my Houlis in Monsoon. That's it for me - No more shopping!

FritziGreenEyes · 17/10/2011 19:58

marsha/annie Were your va-va-voom dresses from the Outnet any good?

wan/ollie What kind of top is it?

redllamayellowllama · 17/10/2011 20:01

Oh Ollie that is annoying. Will keep my eyes peeled in Topshop tomorrow too. Need to go and collect my glasses and buy a lace dress from Whistles--.

Lovely jumper Fritzi.

Annie the Massimo blouse has worked its way onto my Christmas list.

I love Carbonara WAN, my ultimate comfort meal.

Our building work is starting next Monday now - miscommunication between DH and the builder. This is fine, but it does mean that it definitely won't be finished for Christmas, which has scuppered my vision somewhat. Nevermind.

Fritzi just saw your post, what a fab dress, ' don't think there'd be any complaints from DH Smile

pickledsiblings · 18/10/2011 08:02

annie, glad you like the dress, not long until DH is back - I'm sure he'll love it.

Portia, pity your DH didn't like yours, maybe you should try the Whistles lace one too.

Red, that dress will look fab on you and will be very useful over the next few months

DS2 is calling...got to go...

petitdonkey · 18/10/2011 09:26

Ladies, I'm loving all of the links but I have accepted a bet from a friend that I can't get to Christmas without buying anything. Only things like deodorant are allowed - no make-up, scarves, shoes, boots, clothes..... Not sure why I agreed but I like a challenge and I thought it would be ridiculous if I couldn't do it. (all started because I seriously considered buying a Mulberry scarf on a whim and she said that was present territory, not just 'i like it' - if I do it, she's going halves on the scarf with me!!)

Am really gutted now as my perfect coat is on Massimo Dutti (thanks for links Annie - not somewhere I usually look) but I really want to manage it. I will keep popping my head in here and I guess by Christmas I will have a long list!!

notyummy · 18/10/2011 09:42

Good luck with the challenge Petit! TBH, that is something I should do, as I have everything I need....especially now I have my nude M and S patent heels, which are VERY lovely! Didn't manage to spend my Molton Brown voucher yesterday, as the shop that I was convinced was Molton Brown in central Nottingham is actually Jo Malone Blush. I know there is one in Nottingham, so I will have to pop in next week before the voucher expired - once I have googled where it is!

That is a lovely dress Fritzi.

Looks like a good book Rufus. I am reading a bit of historical fiction at the moment, as well as some sci-fi that I am finding quite hard going tbh. Ah well, DH is away all this week so I have extra time to plough through them. The library has texted me to tell me that my copy of 'How to be a Woman' has arrived, so I am looking forward to it!

Right, must get some more work done. Am working from home today as I have to get DD from school this afternoon to take her for another special pneumonia jab - as well as the flu jab that the consultant says she must have. She has to have 2 flu jabs... as well as all the follow-up blood tests for the pnuemonia jabs. I am hoping some chocolate buttons will help off-set the pain!! She is going to Rainbows for the first time after the doctors - hope she is feeling up to it....

Hi to all!
Advice required please from a frequent lurker with a low bank balance solely due to all the fab links on the A and W threads!
Am about to order the Aigle coat-how does the sizing run? I am a sz 12 in a Barbour for example.
Thanks and keep up the good work!

redllamayellowllama · 18/10/2011 10:39

Good luck with that Petit! I would struggle, but should really do likewise...

Hope today goes well NY, your DD sounds so brave, bless her.

One exquisite lace dress purchased (aided by the return of some other bits, bought and never worn Blush). Also tried on a lovely black biker, best seen yet but still unsure of big boobs + biker combo.

DD at home today, so I am watching Downton repeats, a sobbing at the "If you were the only girl in the world" scene Blush

So pleased you got the Whistles dress Red, it's lovely.

Petit you are a brave woman!

Marsha is this the Stella scarf you recreated? Just found a stash of silk and alpaca I'd forgotten about, so I think I might make one.

Ollie I'll keep an eye out in Topshop for your top

Fritzi love your sparkly jumper.

Temperature has dropped massively here, v cold, windy and wintery. Not very S&B, but I got thermal socks for the boys in M&S and they are v impressed with them. They have thermal tights in the girls section, dd won't wear them as they are only in grey or navy, but the age 13-14 fits me fine (5'4") and they are v toasty indeed. I think having warm feet and hands (COS cashmere gloves, nice and long to keep wrists warm) makes winter more bearable Smile

VerityBrulee · 18/10/2011 11:54

NY good luck for you and dd, she really is very brave Smile
