Forgot to say, love these suede brogues

rufus101 · 16/10/2011 19:45

Great code OIO. Will be perusing that later.
Thanks for the info Verity, it all sounds so confusing whenever I go onto eBay, I just give up! Must try harder.
That sounds like a great lunch Bloss. Does your DH realise how lucky he is?

wideawakenurse · 16/10/2011 20:10

Good evening.

Well, a very successful days shopping has been had. I tried on the Aigle in midnight, which I loved and so DH kindly bought it as a very early birthday present for me. I also picked up the Kew bikers in black, same as ollie and some new black flats from R&B. Feel very sorted for winter now. In some ways, its quite freeing not needing to buy clothes at the moment, as I can concentrate on things like boots, coats which should last for years.

Your lunch sounds devine Bloss. Do you do the squash and onion combined?

Your trip sounds fantastic NY, I think the idea of doing singapore in two parts is great.

Thank you all for the advice re DS and moving upstairs. I agree that it will be a while yet, and so should be fine. Ants, that wallpaper link is great, thank you. I have bookmarked for future reference. I like the idea of getting him to help choose the decor etc.

Yes to the lace dress red. It will be a great piece to have in the wardrobe for nights out. I am sure it will look lovely on you.

Hope you had a good bike ride ollie and that cake did feature. Grin

Yes, I do wan. I roast them in olive oil for about 30-40 minutes. In the original recipe there is whole garlic cloves too. Then you add it to penne with creme fraiche and parmesan. Mine and DH's favourite veggie meal from our pre dcs days! Now I just roast the veg and have it as a side for Sunday lunch (which I had got bored of, same old carrots and broccoli, week in week out..!)

Not neccessarily style or beauty, but can I buy this to wear with black leggings round the house?

Also thinking of buying this in the white to wear in winter with the reprieved Agnes.

blossoming · 16/10/2011 21:01

In fact, this is the recipe wan.

OllieinOrange · 16/10/2011 21:25

Update on the Warehouse code - you can also use ELLE25 along with the BIRTHDAY5 code to make things almost 50% off. I just ordered a cream blouse (but annoyingly it wouldn't let me get the grey version of the Ants blouse saying it wasn't available for home delivery despite it being in stock. Grrr.)

WAN great you picked up the Aigle and the Kew boots. We plan on sending one of DSs up to the attic (god that sounds so wrong but ykwim) but am holding out a bit longer and ignoring the fact that DS1 has a room 4 times the size of DS2's!
Bloss your roasts always sound so delicious.
NY Glad your Oz trip now looks a reality. Love the sound of everything you have planned. Great idea to have a relaxing few days at the end too.
Ants isn't that wallpaper wonderful? Love it.

Has anyone received their Wrap peter pan blouse yet? Now showing as out of stock but not sure if mine has been dispatched yet? Would hope so after a 2 month wait!

We cycled to Delft in the end - was thinking how good it would be for an international meet up - nice hotels, good restaurants/bars and canals galore! Something to think about?!
Also went on a impromptu early evening cinema trip earlier with friend to see One Day - quite enjoyed it once I got used to it skimming over detail from the book.

First day of half term tomorrow - the boys and I have designated it 'stay in our pyjama's' day!

Glorious coat NJC! Glad to hear you came to a decision that feels right for you.

A very successful day WAN - is the Aigle as good as it looks?

OiO i must get myself back on a bike - your days out sound so lovely.

Nice shirt Bloss, Superdry have similar that are good quality IMO.

Another great day here - afternoon in the park with our lovely friends and back to their place for a roast. Is so lovely to be near to some of our closest friends for the first time ever. We've decided to avoid family politics and spend Christmas with them, which i'm more than looking forward to.

Thanks Ollie! I ordered the bird print blouse which someone linked to before. What a bargain using both codes.
Has anyone any links there? I hadn't the will to trawl through the site. [lazy emotion]
Great coat NJC. Amazing colour.
I know Annie, those boots could be either worn to death or worn once and hidden in shame at the back of the wardrobe. (It has happene before. And not just the once) I think, I'd have to see in RL. Still could always order and see them in the shop.
Bloss I bought a butternut squash today! And I haven't unpacked from the shopping. Must go and look in the boot of car. I like a nice roast butternut squash soup. Like your recipe, just whizz it up with the usual soup base. (If you add a can of coconut milk, it's even more yummy!) And cayenne pepper. Must locate that squash.

carciofi · 17/10/2011 07:46

NJC, lovely coat. It will be nice to have a morning to yourself.

Wan, glad you like the coat, I can't wait to get it now. I like your boots too.

Bloss, you are a fab cook! I have bookmarked the recipe. I use squash a lot but mostly for soup à la Rufus. I like the neckline on the Jigsaw top. You could wear the shirt with skinny jeans too. Looks cosy.

Annie, my DD1 was the same with potty training, I tried twice and was getting quite worried that she would not be ready for school but she did it herself in the end.

I sold my old Belstaffs for £130, phew, it can go towards the coat. I got DH to take photos of me wearing the DKNY coat so I can post them on eBay (I will chop off my head so as not to scare children [hgrin]), he thinks I am mad.

Must get breakfast now. It is really chilly here this morning.

notyummy · 17/10/2011 08:10

Morning all!

NJC - That coat is gorgeous! Love the colour. I have a roughly similar one in cut, but in a slightly more maroony shade that I don't think is a rich as yours. Glad you like Sentosa - the whole trip is a big adventure as we have never been to that area of the world before. I know Singapore and Australia are very 'safe' as destinations in general, and not like backpacking across Somalia (as someone who worked for me did a few years ago Hmm. He ended up in a truck with a whole load of AK-47 totting rebels, whilst completely paranoid from the side effects of his malaria medication. Fun times?...) but when you are spending a fairly large sum of money and travelling so far, I feel a bit of pressure to get everything right!

I am loving the sound of all the butternut squash receipes. I don't have it that often, but we do like it, so I should start using it regularly. We had roast gammon last night, which was tasty.

I am off to collect my M and S nude heels this lunchtime and use a £10 off voucher in Molton Brown. Think I will use it to get a Christmas present for someone TBH - after recent splurges in L'Occitane, and DHs anniversary pressies, I don't feel I am short of anything!

PORTIA4 · 17/10/2011 09:20

Morning All! Was up at the crack of Dawn(3.45) to catch an early flight this morning, am in Birmingham on business. Wearing a tweedy P8 shift dress from last year.
Dh really disliked The Outnet D&G dress - surprising as he doesn't normally express an opinion! So it's going back, he thought the lace around the bust area was very adolescent looking!
NJC lovely coat Smile.
Bloss I really like the White top but think that you could a nicer top for £80 that you could wear around the house! If you don't mind me sayingSmile.
Now down to work.

notyummy · 17/10/2011 09:28

0345! Now that is early.....

Bad news re the dress, but if someone has such a strong opinion then it can be good to listen!

blossoming · 17/10/2011 11:26

There is a reason things are on the Outnet portia! I know what you mean about the shirt but I find it hard to find a good colourway for me in those types of shirts. I'm going to think about it some more. I have some things on eBay this week. See if I can raise funds. My salary this month has to go and pay off my cc. I have grace till January, then DH wants me to have a clean slate. Am slightly panicking.

carciofi · 17/10/2011 11:37

I never have much luck with the Outnet.

That Molton Brown voucher is good, isn't it, NY? I have to go and spend it soon.

Just found out my mil arrives on Wednesday for a couple of days. I am hoping she'll be up for babysitting.

Got back late last night but had such a great time in London (again!) spending time with some of our friends and their DCs.

Special treat for me on Saturday was coffee with LTEC who looked fabulous in a floaty maxi skirt. We could observe Louboutin shop from where we sat, but resisted to go inside Smile.

I actually only bought only this jumper for me. Tried on this dress too but didn't look right on me.

portia Sorry but have to agree with your DH on the Outnet dress. Not keen on the lacey bit on the top half.

ollie Enjoy the first day of the holidays with your DSs!

notyummy Your holiday itinerary sounds exciting! I'm sure DD will love it.

njc Gorgeous colour for a coat! Will brighten up dull winter days Smile.

bloss Your Sunday lunches sounds absolutely delicious! Have bookmarked squash recipe.

Quick question - I think I jinxed the delivery of the Wrap blouse by mentioning it yesterday - just had an email saying they are now out of stock but they should be able to deliver one by 28th October - a week later than planned. My sister was supposed to bring it over with her when she visits next week but now wont be able to (cos of the extended dispatch date). Am miffed as they have already debited my account for the blouse on 26th September. Would it be reasonable of me to email to express my annoyance and ask they dispatch it over here free of charge???

They are now charging 18 pounds P&P over here which I think is excessive given ASOS, Warehouse, Next, Boden etc all charge less than 10. Not sure if such an email would be taking the mickey tho! Advice?

Ollie, I would definitely ask, they can only say no. It's a bit cheeky of them to debit your card when they didn't have your blouse in stock. I am getting cross with Mothercare, I ordered a mini-me navy down coat for the baby early last week and they still haven't sent it out although I have called them and have been assured it is in stock. She needs it asap.

Great sweater, Fritzi, it was lovely to meet you.

Have just tidied away the last of the summer clothes, doubt I will need them again this year!

Apologies for jumping in without catching up - anyone come across any Great Plains codes? I've found one where you get a free necklace, but would rather have money off!
