Here we go..

OP posts:

Ooh, like the grey lace Annie. I was hoping there'd be a Janice for this year actually - I sold mine on ebay (for a very good return, actually) as it was too big; had bought 6 weeks post-DD.

notyummy · 14/10/2011 13:57

Ooh, lovely links - loving your work Annie! I saw that va va voom one linked to in another thread about party dresses and thought it looked lovely then.

carciofi - so pleased you managed a mini MU!

dolceebanana · 14/10/2011 14:04

Hello

Sorry haven't managed to catch up but just bought this for cocktails next Saturday. To be worn over pewter organza shift and pewter sparkly peep toe shoes...Think I'll get lots of wear out of it.

Busy here. Fab day again weather wise. Made hearty bean and chorizo soup for lunch, and looking forward to a cosy weekend en famille. Am doing the house 'wishlist' with Architect who is doing drawings...ridiculously enjoyable.

Will go back and read thread!

Apols for the Daily Fail link, but I think Mrs O looks fab here.

carciofi · 14/10/2011 15:53

Dolcee, I am jealous of the house plans. The blazer is lovely.

Well, Red, I heeded your advice and ordered the Aigle in midnight. :) If it doesn't look good, I am giving up on buying coats! I will have to sell the DKNY coat as soon as I get back from Dublin and hope DH doesn't notice the charge for the Aigle in the meantime.

I would take the Zara jeans back and ask for a refund.

Michelle Obama looks fantastic, that is a great colour on her.

wideawakenurse · 14/10/2011 16:33

Sounds like a good plan carciofi. Your mini meet up with fritzi sounds good, I too am jealous.

Dolcee, great jacket, bit of a wise buy I reckon. Love the sound of a wish, hope the architect can make it happen for you.

red I have always found that Zara jeans sag and bag within an hour of wearing them. I have a pair in a colour that I love, but hate the way they end up. For high street denim, I think Oasis is the best.

Life sounds hectic Notjust. I hope that you are ok though.

Nice links annie, especially the grey lace.

My links are not that exciting...I am so so bored of maternity clothes already. Although with our potential plans for the house at least I can look at farrow & ball, fired earth etc. Grin

I love this scarf. I wish styled against white in the store, which looked gorgeous.

We might, might be having a family outing into London on Sunday and Dh has said that I could have some browsing time. So I am hoping to visit the Aigle again in JL.

I think I am sold on the kew bikers Ollie, they seem to fit the bill for me in that they are not too clumpy but seem sturdy. My Mum very kindly asked if I wanted to purchase them early as a combined xmas/birthday gift from her, given that options for gifts this year are limited. So I think I'll take her up on the offer.

blossoming · 14/10/2011 19:32

Hi everyone. Glad you managed a meet up carciofi and fritzi. Hope you're having better luck shopping this time fritzi!
The belt isn't very tight on the Aigle either carciofi (just to put a spanner in the works!)
I wish you'd post photos of your outfit dolcee, sounds lovely.
Also, love that dress portia. Photos needed there too.

DD's birthday today. Was a bit put out because the childminder had balloons and banners up. Anyway, she loved the little corolle stroller, bargain b'day this time £13.95!! She had some godawful clothes as presents from ILs.. In fact, she did quite badly. Glad I bought her the metallic converse last week.
Well dd must have heard us talking yesterday, and decided to wake up at 2am to punish me this morning. I did the hushing over the monitor, but eventually had to go in to her. Back asleep about 3.30am I think. Is it worse when you're not used to it?
We had a little birthday tea. I rushed home at lunch and dh working from home helped to make sandwiches. DH is now in a grump though, whereas I feel great as have just shredded.
Time to pay him some attention I think.
May be back later..After mucho Wine

Emo76 · 14/10/2011 19:54

Ahhhh glass of wine in hand, sitting on sofa, DH out so I have complete control of the remote. Watching Nigel Slater - my favourite TV cook.

Some lovely links ladies! annie I like that red phase 8 dress a lot.

Exciting news here, I am off to a conference in S Africa early November, it will be busy but social too and best of all a break from the office and home Must think about what to wear.

ASOS have some good discounts today in their sale, plenty of nice looking dresses - I may be back later with some links!

Emo76 · 14/10/2011 19:55

And I meant to say thanks for the sleep tips and empathy. it means a lot. easy to forget that I am not the only one

OllieinOrange · 14/10/2011 20:01

Have been in my pjs since 7.30pm and having myself a little cheese and wine party! Lovely.
DH is out having drinks with ex colleagues having made a rapid recovery from man flu.

Quote of the week from DH on Weds:
Me: take a nurofen
DH (in little boy voice) no, it only masks the symptons.
Me: er, yes???

Happy bday to DD Bloss
How lovely that fritzi and carciofi could meet up. I too am envious!

Does anyone else have little flashbacks from last weeks MU and then have a little chuckle to themselves? Smile

carciofi · 14/10/2011 20:18

Ollie, that is hilarious! DH was complaining of a sore throat this morning, DD1 said to him in a very unsympathetic tone (quite like me, I'm sure), oh just take some Calpol.

Emo, very exciting!

Happy birthday to your DD, Bloss. I have high hopes for the Aigle as you seem to like it and I like all your buys!

Wan, I remember that feeling well and I think I complained at length on this thread about boring maternity clothes. I bought a lot of scarves last year. :) I like the Whistles scarf.

FritziGreenEyes · 14/10/2011 20:41

Feels so decadent being back in London after I left only a few days ago Smile.

Met the lovely carciofi today and loved her gorgeous red shoes and fab bag. I even got to hold and coo over totally scrumptious baby-carciofi!

Now back at the hotel sharing bottle of M&S white wine with DH. DD is totally knocked out. Highlight for her yesterday: Buckingham Palace where "William's Grandmother lives".

Spotted first Christmas trees at the White Company!

FritziGreenEyes · 14/10/2011 20:42

Happy birthday to little bloss!

blossoming · 14/10/2011 21:21

I am quietly confident you'll love the aigle carciofi. I'm just looking at it in a magazine again and thrilled I have it!
So glad you're having a nice time fritzi. Are you stopping at one bottle? When are you heading home?
Trying to persuade dh to come away for a night with me next week. Mum is set to stay over. Just occurred to me he's worried Wales will be in the final and he'll miss the match. No wonder he's dithering.
Wales has gone to pot over tomorrow's match.

Morning everyone.

Pregnancy insomnia has started - I have been awake since early hours.

Bloss, where were you hoping to take DH. Would be a lovely treat for you both. Belated birthday wishes for DD, sounds like the stroller was a real hit.

annie wow, 5 sleeps to go...not long now at all. How fantastic to have him back.

That all sounds very glamourous and exciting Emo, how long do you think you'll be away for? Lots of wardrobe planning I would imagine.

Hope everyone has great Saturdays.

blossoming · 15/10/2011 08:57

Morning wan! I am meeting a friend in Chester next week, then me and dh are going out there with friends in the evening. Would make sense to stay over. See what happens today in the match. Kick off in a few minutes!! DH is White as a sheet.

VerityBrulee · 15/10/2011 09:04

bloss good luck in the matchSmile

Am going back to bed with latte and laptop to catch up now!

wideawakenurse · 15/10/2011 09:37

Sounds like a good plan Bloss. Good luck for the match too from here.

Perfect morning VB, enjoy.

Its freezing here. Sunny and crisp, but goodness the temperature has dropped. Funny isan't it, as soon as it gets cold buying things like the Aigle seem really sensible. Two weeks ago I could even contemplate it, despite knowing the weather wound soon turn. I could kick myself for not snapping up some Hunters that were really cheap in TK Maxx in the summer. I just couldn't envisage needing them. Stupid really.

Anyhow, hoping to try the Aigle on tomorrow again and then hopefully order later on. Bloss and carciofi, where did you order from in the end?

notyummy · 15/10/2011 10:02

Rugby looks intense - hope your DH holds up Bloss! Lovely weather here - crisp and clear. Wedding anniversary today - 6 years (although togethr over 12 in all.) Got a lovely L'occitane Verbena Cologne and a night in a hotel as a gift from DH. Not going out tonight as I am taking him away at the end of the month as a gift when my parents are up to babysit.

Intensive Australia holiday activity here. Got a lady from travel centre pricing up various options and checking out all the hotel options she is giving us. Exciting.

notyummy · 15/10/2011 12:26

Oh - and a huge bunch of flowers has just arrived!

blossoming · 15/10/2011 13:40

Wow notyummy, that is exciting!

A few despondent males in the house but never mind. I have been out all morning with dd, have done half the housework and made lasagne. Now they all have to come on a long country walk with me with a good uphill section! Back later.

pickledsiblings · 15/10/2011 14:08

Sorry about the rugby bloss, most of us were rooting for Wales with the exception of DS1 - I think he wanted France to win because he loves holidaying there.

fritzi, have a lovely time in London with your family Smile.

Oooh, flowers NY, is there something you haven't told us?

Emo, so pleased that you've got the opportunity to get away for a few days albeit work related. Excellent timing for you I think.

Reine, at our book group we speak about the book v. loosely for no more than about 30 mins. The rest of the time is just socialising, it's great fun - would definitely recommend.

Am thinking about doing a PhD, did similar many moons ago but this would be in a new subject area. Anyone got any advice/experience of 'studying' post motherhood?
