Grin

Because moonlight gives you a nice glow and doesn't show up your wrinkles or grey hair.

Mmmm, that's what I'm worried about ruby!

MrsSchadenfreude · 02/10/2011 20:06

We just had girls - I think boys would have changed the whole dynamic of it. We had flashing lights and a disco ball and a friend of mine was DJ and organised the games. We had Musical Chairs, the game where you tie a balloon onto your leg and have to pop other people's balloons, but still keeping yours intact. Then we had musical bumps/statues, the polo mint game, a dancing competition (the most like Lady Gaga). It worked really well and they all enjoyed it. The photos and videos are all over FB today! And it only lasted two hours, which was quite long enough for me.

Power cut, internal systems go down, ahhhhhhhhhhhh

and breath...

DukesOfTripHazard · 03/10/2011 14:51

Mrs S that sounds fun. I enjoy my dd's parties more and more the older they get. We managed 3 hours! Hardcore! Get i!

bigTillyMint · 03/10/2011 15:10

Yes MrsS, sounds great. We did 5 hours for DD's 12th, with 15 girls Smile, but most of that was on the bus, at the bowling and back here on the bus!

Was impressed by carpetboys this morning, anyone else been to any interesting schools?

DukesOfTripHazard · 03/10/2011 16:00

Hey btm - I'm planning to do drop at bowling. Bowl. Bus back. Hang out for DD1 in a few weeks! Clock up those hours! Quantity over quality!

Will be attending carpetboys purple girls' night this week.

Blackduck - any power yet?

Blackduck · 03/10/2011 16:03

Power back - but why does this happen mid-enrollment with a bunch of stressy students! Day from hell...
Dps not much better as he has a very full day, and he had a puncture on the way to work.....

However, I am still loving this unseasonal October weather - fabulous!

bigTillyMint · 03/10/2011 16:09

Dukes, we went up-market bowling - at the elephant Grin
PurpleConfused

Yay for the weather Smile BD, your DH should get armadillo tyres, apparently!

MrsSchadenfreude · 03/10/2011 17:52

BTM - there's classy! My flat in London is within spitting distance of the Elephant - when I had DD1 it was our daily outing. Up the road to the Elephant, into Smiths to buy newspaper and magazine I wouldn't have time to read, Boots for nappies, breast pads etc, into Tesco for tinned soup food to make delicious nutritious meals and home. By which time she would have woken up and be screaming for food... oh happy days...

bigTillyMint · 03/10/2011 21:10

MrsS, I can't imagine having to make a daily outing to the Elephant - no wonder you movedGrin Although it's getting a makeover.......

motherinferior · 03/10/2011 21:19

Ahem.

Where are we actually meeting on Friday?

MrsSchadenfreude · 03/10/2011 21:37

WIIIIIILLLLLLBBBBBUUUUUURRRRRR!!!!!!

OP posts:
motherinferior · 03/10/2011 21:40

She says upthread:
OK - I have taken an executive decision and have called the BFI to book an area in the bar from 6pm and a dinner table from 8.30pm. They are going to check that's all ok (they don't usually accept bar area booking for less than 15 people) and get back to me later, I will keep you posted.

bigTillyMint · 04/10/2011 08:27

I've not seen Wilbur for a while, or some of our other fellow hags.....

Are we all still coming? Meeting in the BFI bar at 6?

Stropperella · 04/10/2011 08:57

I've got me train tickets and a hotel booked - you bet I'm coming! BFI bar at 6 on Fri. Please don't change anything right at the last minute on Friday, as I only have a dimwit phone and won't be looking at MN during the day on Friday.

Stropperella · 04/10/2011 08:59

(Too many Fridays in that post - not just my phone that is dim)

bigTillyMint · 04/10/2011 09:34

You can never have too many Fridays Grin

herbaceous · 04/10/2011 09:40

I'll be there? 'There' being the BFI bar, I'm assuming. It might not be 6, though, as doubt DP can get back from work in time.

CointreauVersial · 04/10/2011 12:51

Yes, yes, I'll be there! Trying to sort out the logistics of getting DDs back from swimming, but it will happen somehow. I won't be there til nearer 7.00 but definitely coming.

How are we going to track each other down? I know BTM and Herbs, but no-one else. Pink carnations in buttonholes? Carry copy of The Times?

Wilbur - what name is it booked under?

bigTillyMint · 04/10/2011 12:56

Right, so definitely going

Strops
Herbs
Cointreau
TillyMint
MrsS

come on the rest of you!

I agree, we need a secret sign... packet of Pom Bears?Grin
Did Wilbur say she had booked it in the name of Wilbur?

wilbur · 04/10/2011 14:30

I'm here! Yes, I did book and I TOLD you all as well - clearly having some senior moments, eh?

And I quote: "after a conversation with a baffled clipboard girl, the bar/lounge area reservation should have the name Wilbur on it, but it may also have my own name which MI and MrsS know and which has the same initials as a very famous brand of German cars, which are also known by their initials."

So there is an area in the BFI bar (NOT the one right on the river, but the one at the back, near the box office, I think it's branded as a Benugo) booked for 6pm for 10 people as I wasn't sure of final numbers, think we are more like 7 or 8. Then there is a table reservation for 8.30pm in the restaurant next to the bar. I am not likely to be there until about 7.30pm but will try to be earlier.

Really looking forward to it!

herbaceous · 04/10/2011 14:45

Me too! Wardrobe crisis! Made worse by living-it-large weekends having put on four pounds.

Tempted to wear my latest Sainsburys bargain - red maxi dress, v flattering in the norms/waist region, with nice detail at neck. Originally an outrageous £18, then reduced to £12, and got it with 25% off. Marvellous.

herbaceous · 04/10/2011 14:49

By 'norms' I of course mean 'norks'. Damn you, auto-correct.
