Grin

Because moonlight gives you a nice glow and doesn't show up your wrinkles or grey hair.

Oh, there you are Wilbur! Smile

Right, so definitely going

Strops
Herbs
Cointreau
TillyMint
MrsS
Wilbur

come on the rest of you!

No idea what I'm going to wear yet. Your bargain dress sounds lovely Herbs - I have never seen anything particularly lovely in our Sainsbos, but as I try to avoid the place like the plague, it's not surprising!

wilbur · 04/10/2011 15:32

And MI is definitely coming and also Orangina, I think.

I have also put on weight this weekend, not, sadly from living it large like Herbs, but from being force fed shortbread by elderly relatives in Scotland. Oh, and I didn't have my scheduled packing meltdown on Friday, I was able to postpone it until Sunday night when a train snafu meant I missed my connection (with my reserved seat) at Carlisle. I was then put on a train that stopped everywhere (EVERYWHERE! Kendal, Preston, Crewe, Milton Keynes, you name it) and got me home 2 hours later than planned.

DukesOfTripHazard · 04/10/2011 15:55

I will be there. I am drinks only so please don't let me be on my tod from 6 Grin
Who else in early crew?

bigTillyMint · 04/10/2011 16:01

OK,

Strops
Herbs
Cointreau
TillyMint
MrsS
Wilbur
MI
Dukes
Orangina

I am aiming to be there for 6 - will PM you Dukes with my mobile no so you can text me if I am not!

herbaceous · 04/10/2011 16:17

Dukes, I expressly forbid you to leave before I get there. Someone tie her to the seat please!

bigTillyMint · 04/10/2011 16:20

NO problem Wink

Stropperella · 04/10/2011 16:36

I am also going to be there for 6, as I will be all art-exhibitioned-out by then.

orangina · 04/10/2011 17:19

Yes, yes, I will be there! Thought I might wear my orangina badge left over from the last MN bash I went to..... (many moons ago now). Probably won' make it before 6:30-ish, hope that's ok? Smile

bigTillyMint · 04/10/2011 17:25

Great - hope the writing's large or I'll have to get my glasses out!

orangina · 04/10/2011 17:27

Actually it's vair discreet...... (I can't really bring myself to go out in public dressed as a huge orangina bottle........!). Hoping MI will be there before me!

Blackduck · 04/10/2011 17:42

I am in the 'depends how my week pans out' camp. I feel we need a question we can use to identify ourselves. Sidles up to strops, 'Do you bongo?' or something of the sort. Otherwise I have an image of several women of a certain age spread out in the bar eyeing each other up and thinking 'is that bigtillymint?'. Otherwise back to copies of the FT or something....

bigTillyMint · 04/10/2011 18:46

Grin I'm not sure that sidling up to someone to ask if they bongo is better or worse than eyeing up lone hags Grin

Hope you can make it, though!

Blackduck · 04/10/2011 19:20

Grin you see my point though - the only one of you that I might possible recognise is MI....

bigTillyMint · 04/10/2011 19:24

The only two I will recognise are Herbs and CV who will not be there at 6!

Maybe we should do a secret wink? Grin

motherinferior · 04/10/2011 19:58

MrsS and I will turn up together: she is the tall one, I'm the short one. We are a strikingly unmissable pair on account of this.

I will recognise Orangina, Wilbur and possibly Dukes.

motherinferior · 04/10/2011 21:06

Oh no.

I have had two successive evenings of phone calls from friends in crisis. Yesterday's was one lovely friend to say her MIL is dying.

Tonight it was one of my oldest friends. A mutual friend of ours (I wasn't close to her since having children - she didn't like kids and in fact it was the only friendship I've ever had that has really foundered on that basis) has died. H had a degenerative condition. But still. We all spent Millennium NYE in Sicily together.

MrsSchadenfreude · 04/10/2011 21:14

So sorry, MI. Life is really shit sometimes, isn't it? Sad

OP posts:
motherinferior · 04/10/2011 21:15

It seems pretty obvious that she killed herself. Which is completely not surprising and is also a shock.

bigTillyMint · 04/10/2011 21:19

Oh MI, how sad. Put's all our little moans into perspective.

Sorry to hear that, MI. How very sad.

motherinferior · 04/10/2011 21:40

Thank you, my lovely Haggettes.

Blackduck · 05/10/2011 06:33

MI sorry to hear that.

Blackduck · 05/10/2011 08:18

Sorry to drag this thread into the style and beauty territory, but does anyone know how Kew's sizing comes up? I quite like a sweater in their sale...I am an M&S 10 if that helps (standard point of comparison hopefully!)
Ta.....
