Grin

Because moonlight gives you a nice glow and doesn't show up your wrinkles or grey hair.

RRR Did it not hurt like fuck, pulling a thick hair out of your nostril? Shock I did that once and my eyes were streaming for ages after. These days i use nail scissors to trim (too bloody many to tug at)

thenightsky · 01/10/2011 10:33

Oh... and yes to the hairy eye socket thing too Sad

Grin Oh, the glamorous lives we lead.....

Up early this morning to welcome DH home from Las Vegas, bearing lots of lovely gifts (cowboy hats, snowglobes, and half the contents of Abercrombie & Fitch). I now have a king-sized pile of laundry to tackle, hooray.

thenightsky · 01/10/2011 11:25

Only up early in this house as DH had to watch the rugby.

MrsSchadenfreude · 01/10/2011 11:33

I am debating whether to pluck my beard before DD1's party, or not bother as it will be quite dark anyway. Grin

I have made, iced and decorated 100 mini muffins this morning, and cleared up several splattery pools of cat sick. I am now wrapping small gifts to be handed out instead of party bags at the end, and not knowing whether we are going to have 10 or 25, am wondering if I have enough stuff. Confused

Have shopping trolley full of crisps and stuff and will get frozen pizzas later. Oh and still need to ice birthday cake. And decorate the room (but suspect this may not get done and it will have to be as is as DD1 has lost the bunting...)

Think I will console myself with large G & T when this is all going on...friend who used to be a magician's assistant is helping with the games, so should be reasonably relaxed once it kicks off, and another MN friend will be lending moral support and drinking gin with me

MrsS I feel all stressed and tired just reading that post!

Swimming done, ds onto next S of the day....

motherinferior · 01/10/2011 11:41

Inferiorettes' swimming class cancelled, presumably so that parents can be shown round the Posho School where it usually takes place. DP has gone off, muttering in class-warfare manner (his revolutionary communist father would be proud) to collect an Amazon parcel of Elly Griffiths thrillers I shall sit in the garden and read this afternoon. Can't be arsed to do anything especially in light of hangover slight fatigue.

motherinferior · 01/10/2011 11:41

Ooooh ooooh ooh, though, did I tell you I'm apparently doing the job well? Boss and uberboss say they're impressed. Am all preeny as my self-confidence is not always the highest around.

Blackduck · 01/10/2011 11:50

Oh good on you MI!

I was inordinately pleased when my boss told me he was very glad that he had insisted that I was the one for the job and that i had brought my own idiosyncratic style to the role ( I was a bit Hmm about latter as I tend to see negative in everything! - told him I would take it as a compliment) - sad of me innit :)

motherinferior · 01/10/2011 11:56

Mind you I suspect this is because I am 15 a few years older than my lithe, leggings-wearing colleagues. My immediate colleagues, that is. There are some soothingly crepey old boots mature women too who have a relaxingly cyncial view on life the universe and everything.

bigTillyMint · 01/10/2011 12:00

MI, I think I know where yours go swimmingWink DD has just gone off to gymnastics which has been pushed to 12-6 as posho parents are viewing the facilities this morning and oviously do not want high standard but not posho gymnasts practising.

On the plus side, no hangover from last night and I have not yet had to pluck a hair from my eyelid, nostril or earGrin

Well done on the praise from the boss you two Smile

herbaceous · 01/10/2011 15:31

Boss praise is ace, isn't it. Especially when surrounded by bright young things. bit like getting dad love. Or is that just me.

CointreauVersial · 01/10/2011 18:41

Boss praise. Ha. I barely see mine (as he is the MD and a Very Busy Man), and whenever he speaks to me it is usually to give me an urgent task or tell me to keep my voice down (I am a Very Noisy Person). Blush

bigTillyMint · 01/10/2011 18:56

Grin at being told to keep your voice down!

bigTillyMint · 02/10/2011 14:59

Just spent a scorchio 3 hours watching DS play and win (yay!) a footie match. It makes me laugh that even though I volunteered to take him, bith he and DH were desperate for DH to come up and watch - peas in a pod Grin

DD is now making blueberry muffins which will not do much to help me look svelte (some hope atm) for Friday night.

Blackduck · 02/10/2011 16:23

I have to get out of lethargy slacker mode and go into work in a bit, damn and blast....

motherinferior · 02/10/2011 17:05

We bought the Inferiorettes new winter coats today. I do not recommend this, but realised otherwise we'd have that much-threatened Snow looming up on us next weekend.

DD1 has a new snorkel parka. They appear to be All the Rage. I feel very, very, old.

Blackduck · 02/10/2011 17:31

Okay, I'll bite, what is a snorkel parka?

motherinferior · 02/10/2011 17:33

This Grin

bigTillyMint · 02/10/2011 17:42

Snorkel parka? All the boys had them back in the daySmile

DD won't wear a coat at all for school - just the dreaded blazer and thick scarf!

Blackduck · 02/10/2011 17:56

Ahh, i remember those.....
Ds would never put the hood up on a coat anyway, or wear gloves.....

DukesOfTripHazard · 02/10/2011 18:13

14 for a 7th birthday disco. It was excellent. Unbelievable to be able to use the garden for once.

MrsSchadenfreude · 02/10/2011 19:19

We had 20 for DD1's 13th birthday party. It was great and they all left saying "best party ever!". And the girl running the bar said how polite they all were. Lots of games, lots of dancing, lots of pizza, crisps and chocolate cake consumed.

Nice barbie today in friend's garden, and partook of a small amount of pink wine, to celebrate possibly, the end of summer. Smile Good weekend, but tiring.
