Autumns-is there anyone out there??!!

After reading another thread about Spring ladies I was wondering if there are many autumns out there? I'm a leaf autumn, had my colours done about 18 months ago and am still trying to sort out my wardrobe/makeup! I'm hoping now that autumn clothes are in the shops there will be a few more things about in my colours!

Ok I know it's Cath Kidston but it's big enough to hold a baby and toddlers worth of shit and I need a winter bag. However is this autumn colours?

sparkout · 01/09/2011 19:44

Looks like it to me but I'm not the worlds best colour spotter so hold out for a few more opinions!!

Queen - Lovely bag and yes right colours as far as you can tell from a monitor.

When the kids go back school on Monday I will look into how to set up a facebook group if anyone is interested

Thanks for that guys I'm still umming over the fact it's CK but really like it.

Second opinion number 2, which of these scarf colourways would be autumn, apparently the purple is very navy

Thanks, want something different from brown and was hoping the purple as near navy would do (I thought navy was an autumn colour, I don't have book with me)

Oh that would go well with the brown cardigan I own (I appear to be organising my entire wardrobe around this one brown cardigan) but is polyester and am looking for something such as part cashmere for the softness.

You say above that the bag has too much pink in for your wardrobe but I was given the impression that all the autumn colours would blend together? Is this incorrect (I never knew you could put brown and navy together) or are you saying that the bag overall is autumn colours but there are a few others in there that would clash with colours you do wear? Hope you don't mind me asking but you seem to know a lot about this.

raspberryroop · 04/09/2011 10:39

Queen on my monitor the bag has peachy tones and faded blue / cream which would blend well with my wardrobe basics of brown and moss green/teal/navy but I am at the softer/brighter end of Autumn. The Autumn Navy is softer than the true Navy of winter nearer Airforce blue.

I personally think Navy and Brown look better blended in a pattern with greens/teals/peaches etc than as separate block of colour against each other but againt that maybe because my colouring is quite light for an Autumn

Hello, I've been on hols in a cottage with no broadband connection....

I have the brown version of the scarf Queen, and love it, I bought the blue/purple for an aunt, if it had been the right colours for me I probably would have ordered one for me as well - but not really autumn palette enough for me. But I have just bought this, which is a fab teal and cheers up all my olive and brown.
Not sure about the CK bag - agree with Clevery 'tis a bit pink, and am sure you could find nicer....will have a look later and see what I can suggest.

Got to go and pick up DD1 from a fancy dress party, back later.

QueenOfAllBiscuitsandMuffins · 05/09/2011 13:22

Any bag help would be appreciated, tis my b'day soon and want to ask for it as a pressie, needs to be £40ish and huge and preferbly cross body but deffo over shoulder. Don't like pleather but don't mind fake suede.

I have just dug out my booklet and colours, I am a dark blue autumn and my words are "rich, warm & earthy". I was in tesco this morning and bought this scarf which matches exactly no.35 peacock on my colour swatches, it's not got any stars in my 25% column BUT it has got stars in 75% & 50% so surely it would be fine next to my face. I would have thought scarves are one of the most important to get right.

ShirleySharpeyes · 05/09/2011 13:52

Queen - how about these?
plain
I have this one and am often asked where it is from - would do for a blue Autumn or if horses more your thing they have a teal version.....
Also here - always seems to get good reviews on here - and not too pricey. I had an ancient leather bag when my dd's were young and i was fine - just need to remember to always have nappy bags/spare carrier bags for soggy items.

Will have a hunt for some more.....much more interesting than work!

Just been doing some boys' clothes shopping for the ds's with the Boden code - anyone else sizing up their children's colouring trying to work out what season they are?! DS1 is slightly darker than me, so winter would be my best guess, and I think ds2 is a spring, he suits bright colours much better than mud colours.

QueenOfAllBiscuitsandMuffins · 05/09/2011 16:48

Well I think I can wear sliver and gold together or gold just on it's own, however all my jewellery is currently silver so that is what I wear. I am thinking of getting a long gold necklace a la Courtney Cox in cougar town and wearing that with my shorter silver ones. I thought Blue autumn and dark autumns were the same.

Shirley thanks for the suggestions, the first is a bit meh tbh. I do like the horses but I thought Autumns couldn't do white?

Sparkout it's the F&F Ruched ladder stitch scarf in Blue and it's £4.50

Apuski - boden code? I am such a tightward that the criteria I use for my DS clothes is it a gender neutral colour enough that DD can wear it in a couple of years (not that I am against DD wearing blue but try and get gender neutral colour as I don't particularly put her in pink either)

ApuskiDusky · 05/09/2011 17:44

Queen, Boden code is DDUK, 20% off until close of Thursday (then down to 15% off on Friday). With two boys it's easier to pass clothes on - but I noticed that the extra tops I bought for ds2 in brighter colours suit him better than some of the clothes I originally bought for ds1.

QueenOfAllBiscuitsandMuffins · 05/09/2011 17:46

Thanks Apuski, I want to get DS a winter coat but have just noticed last winters (Also Boden) still fits so am wondering whether to get the next size up with 20% off or risk waiting until the sales when they might have all gone. What did you get?

ApuskiDusky · 05/09/2011 17:58

Trousers for ds1, he lives in them!

Right, a question about tights. I have autumn appropriate dresses, I am about to buy some brown shoes. What tights can I wear? (both now and winter).

Which justifies why deep autumns can wear a bit of charcoal? yay!

All my jewellery is silver - and i am not sure I can be pursaded to wear gold everything, even if it does suit me better, I just don't think I like it quite as much!

The anorak horse and bird bags aren't a pure white, more a creamy colour, so corresponding to our white - 'oyster'. And fine as an accent (she says trying to sound vaguely like she has a clue!!). Actually the other lady in my session described the autumn white as a 'washed a few times with other stuff white' which I think is quite an accurate description!

Tights - not sure I could bring myself to wear green tights - far too thigh slapping and principal boy for me, but I do have some lovely cashmere brown ones from M&S, which I am looking forward to wearing again this winter.

moonstorm · 05/09/2011 20:47

Hi

Can I join?? I think I am a Soft Autumn. I can't afford HoC, yet and went for a while (helped by a lovely lady on here) as a soft summer - I have always though blue was my best colour, but I think I am more Autumn.

I have grey-blue eyes, with brown around the pupil (getting more brown as I get older!). I have brown hair that looks red when the sun shines on it. I have pale skin with freckles. Does that sound like a soft Autumn??

I have bought more black/ navy than I would have liked for work, so is there any way I can still make it work?? Adding other colours to the outfit??

moonstorm · 05/09/2011 20:52

ps I am thinking of buying some nice real wool, warm jumpers for Autumn. I want to try quality this year rather than cheap (I can get them as a birthday gift).

Which are the Autumn colours on here? (if any - or are there any alternative websites??? I don't want to spend more tha £70)

jumper

thanks

Thanks! And sorry for jpoining the thread and asking for advice straight away!
