Autumns-is there anyone out there??!!

After reading another thread about Spring ladies I was wondering if there are many autumns out there? I'm a leaf autumn, had my colours done about 18 months ago and am still trying to sort out my wardrobe/makeup! I'm hoping now that autumn clothes are in the shops there will be a few more things about in my colours!

Well, got to shops today, and my dd fell asleep so I had free rein to shop! Have to say, I tried on some stuff that didn't look too great, then checked against the swatches, and they weren't that close in colour. Then I tried on a couple of things in my double star colours, and wow, got back the feeling you get at the colour day.

Good day - also found a coat that I liked the look of in the winter coats thread - the merrell haven in brown, and I'm very pleased with myself.

Apuski, so sorry completely forgot and now away for weekend will check ad sion as I get home but sure it had toffee in the name.

ApuskiDusky · 19/08/2011 21:00

Lol no worries Queen, no plans to lipstick shop this weekend - have a good weekend!

So here are my two purchases yesterday - this in dark teal, I did also try the mustard which would alos be a good colour but it wasn't in in my size. And then this in green, I think in RL it is slightly darker than it seems here, and I don't know what they've done for the photo but it doesn't go in at the waist like that!

Sparkout, my interview dress is this one - in RL the light and dark greys are both green-greys, so it seems to work. I spent ages in the shop holding it up to the light trying to work out if it was green enough! More than I normally spend but wanted something great for my interviews.

sparkout · 20/08/2011 18:55

I love those jigsaw tops, especially the teal one, interview dress nice too although stuck at home with 2 LOs I wouldn't really have the opportunity to wear it at the moment!

May I join? I am also a deep leaf Autumn (waves at Cleverything), I have always liked olive greens but am finding not wearing grey or silver jewellery suprisingly hard since I had my colours done a few months ago.

Following my consultation I did decide to dye a couple of (grey and white) tops in the dylon rosewood colour which has helped get me started; I would never have chosen that colour before being draped. And it looks great with my dark green jacket which I seem to have worn for a lot of this Summer!

Apuski I love that dark teal Jigsaw top - and teal is one of my 2** colours so am definately on the look out for a similar top or knitwear when funds allow.

ApuskiDusky · 22/08/2011 07:57

Clevery / Shirley, what's the difference between a deep autumn and a deep leaf autumn? (hello both by the way!). I am a bit confused about the variations of the types of autumn and how they translate to be 'type'.

ShirleySharpeyes · 22/08/2011 08:25

Morning! My best colours are the darkest ones in the Autumn pallette, the browns, dark greens, forest greens and Kingfisher. All the lighter colours peach, oyster, beige etc and the brights (apple, orange, rust etc) are all to be worn as accent colours and most are ** at 25%. I was told that, when shopping, to think 'deep, rich leaf autumn' when choosing...and to wear 'rich, warm and earthy' colours.

Thank you both, then I am one as well!

I spotted this top on a link on the spring thread, where the consensus was it was an autumn top, and it is sitting in my basket at the moment awaiting a decision. I'm waiting for a job offer call, so if it comes through, I think I will buy it.

ApuskiDusky · 22/08/2011 12:51

Oh, Clevery (and anyone else who knows more about this stuff than I do!) - what's your take on the HoC clothing styles (ingenue et al)? I can work out which ones I am definitely not, but I'm not sure if it's worth finding out more. I would probably narrow it down to classic, natural and gamin, I am so not romantic!

ShirleySharpeyes · 22/08/2011 13:46

Another lovely teal top Apuski, but am not sure about the neck line on me....I am pleased I have found some similar Autumn leafs so I can check that I am not straying too far from my colours. I am easily distracted by pretty sweet pea colours and grey and black but am trying to get used to the (slightly sludgy) autumnal palette. At least there is loads in our colours in the shops at the moment.

As for HoC styles - I am deffo not a romantic, I am tall (6') and think I am probably a natural/dramatic, I tried a lovely angular belt on during my HoC consultation - and a very striking brassy colour necklace, which leads me to this conclusion, I think the consultant was implying this anyway - but I could be soooo wrong.

I have always worn charcoal and have also though it worked on me too - so perhaps I won't be ebaying my pile of charcoal cardigans/jumpers just yet?
Hope the call comes through for you Apuski.

Sparkout - I have just been to H&M - loads of affordable autumn colours in there and great for basics. Am struggling with trousers though.....

Oh hello! I'm an autumn - recently re-done, and my wardrobe is EMPTY and I'm having a crisis. Will read with interest.

sparkout · 24/08/2011 10:46

Not been online for a few days so really pleased to see some more autumns!! I wonder if autumn leaf and deep leaf are the same, wonder if there is anywhere we can find all the different autumn variations...

OP posts:
brockthebadger · 24/08/2011 12:28

Please could anyone describe what autumn leaf, deep leaf etc are in more detail. I was told I'm on the summer end of autumn, not too dark and colours more greyed out, not rich and glowing ......

Hi all, I think I'm a deep autumn, but with very pale skin and blue eyes. They're darkish blue with yellowy/ornage around the pupil. I suit dirty versions of colours, mainly dark ones. I thought I might be deep or clear winter but actually instinctively wear the autumn colours.
I don't have the £ to do a colour test right now, nor to buy much but am keen to see any ideas sales and charity for me ATM (although am happy to fix things to suit me).
I am an eclectic dresser, (although I'm not very adventurous) according to the chicfashionista.com quiz.
An outfit that I think is quite 'me' is olive(ish) green cords, burnt orange top with a purple vest under (it's low cut and I have a lot of norkage. I've got a scarf that goes with that too. I have never thought of orange as a colour I could wear, but as it's a dirty orange it seems ok.
At the moment I'm mostly looking online for stuff, la Redoute in particular at the moment (and ebay)
Would it be ok for me to link to things I find to get your opinions? I need to get some clothes for post baby/BFing while I wait to slim back down.

I have decided that I might be a mix of warm (eyes and skin) and deep (hair). Perhaps. I will do a DIY drape later I think. I'm now going to 'do' my kids colours Wink

Twit · 25/08/2011 09:25

Any of these any good for a basic start? comparing some of them to these colours they look promising.

Boring long sleeve tops

PigeonPie · 25/08/2011 13:01

Ooh may I join too please? I'm a HoC Deep Autumn too and my style is Natural Gamine (with a bit of Classic in the mix). Both sessions were money well spent and I've managed to sort out most of my wardrobe - now I just need time and money to improve it! My problem is finding clothes to fit can be a nightmare as I'm only 5' and have a dodgy left leg. I think I'm going to have to get out the sewing machine!
