going to a wedding with stunning SIL

I love my sil, she is one of the nicest people I know, but she is also one of the most stylish and beautiful. We have a family wedding in 3 weeks and she tried on her outfit to show me and now I don't even want to go! She looks amazing, sophisticated, completely stunning. At the last family wedding the groom's family were all asking if she was a model. She just has an eye for clothes and an amazing figure. She can do all the finishing touches to make an outfit and has gorgeous hair and so on.

I'm a size 6-8 and 5'8 so people are constantly telling me I can wear anything but I just look like a stick (25/26 inch waist, 30C/32B) and the dress i had in mind makes me feel like a child compared to her. I have spent the last 2 days scouring the internet for something nice to make me not feel so hideous next to her but having no luck and just getting more and more fed up. If anyone has seen any gorgeous summer wedding appropriate dresses please point me in their direction?

Looking to spend £50ish ideally but the way I'm feeling would go double if it made me feel like I could spend the day standing next to her.

Stick to the sale bit - loads of amazing reductions - drop the high street.

Really.

Do.

cakeoholic · 05/07/2011 04:04

I like this would never have considered it before chatting to you tonight and still not sure it would suit me but it proves that in a few hours you've made me more open to trying something else

Ohh - I LOVE Day Birger - have loads - cut beautifully.

They do hang well.

That teamed with a pair of monster heels, on your figure would look fantastic.

cakeoholic · 05/07/2011 04:07

And this blue one and this is not a pattern i'd normally go for and both far too pricy for me but I'm feeling more open to trying some different shapes on at least

cakeoholic · 05/07/2011 04:29

Thanks again, so much, for this thread, it means so much to me and I feel so much more positive that I can find something fab and be able to hold my head up next to sil Smile

Ask sil to go shopping with you - can't beat advice & support direct from the source!

whoneedssleepanyway · 05/07/2011 08:53

Cake your SIL sounds a bit like mine!!!

My SIL is able to pick things up on the high street and make them look designer, and it is def in the accesorizing.

She wore this oasis dress on holiday last week and it was lovely.

She added a skinny orange belt and wore with nude peep toe jewelled ballet flats, but to dress it up a bit for a wedding you could wear it with nude heels.

It looked really fab on her.

whoneedssleepanyway · 05/07/2011 08:54

here is a belt

cakeoholic · 05/07/2011 14:18

Thanks whoneeds but that's not available in my size. I've been back on nap and fell in love with this when thought I was searching in my size but they only have larges!
