New thread here!

bloss, so pleased it went well. Do you know about AfL and APP Grin?

WesternBelle80 · 22/06/2011 12:17

Been awaiting the Sales to finally buy some maternity clothes (not sure that I can get much more wear out of my dresses before they become tops) - first on my list www.seraphine.com/maternity-wear-by-occasion/maternity-clothes-sale/displayProduct.asp?idproduct=1065&idcategory=40&title=Empire+Line+Shirt%2C+Maternity+Clothes+Sale almost caused an accident at work last week when one of the buttons my my non maternity shirt made a break for freedom (rapidly exapnding bust that will not be contained!) :)

Ambernj1 · 22/06/2011 12:20

notyummy I have an app on my phone that tells me the baby's size in relation to fruit - today we are at watermelon, which I found horribly alarming walking round Waitrose this morning!

bloss has just put me in mind of something - does anyone know when the R&B sale is due to start? Had heard whispers it is soon and am holding out for some black and tan ballerinas...

OllieinOrange · 22/06/2011 12:29

Just read WIT's lastest post - I have wedding envy! What a lovely idea to have a scribbler at a wedding.

Pickled I loved your comment about Mr Roary being handsome (I agree btw Smile. I do like getting a peek at Mr W&A's!

John Lewis sale starts at 8pm tonight.

blossoming · 22/06/2011 12:34

ambernj1, I have a feeling the ballerinas will be excluded from the sale. They are so classic. I find the sales items in R&B are the weird stuff that they have tried out in the name of high fashion. I was pleased to see my expensivly gorgeous shoe boots (sadly hidden under the table at moamu) were back on the shelves last week. So I can still wear them next season!
I love R&B. Never buy shoes anywhere else Blush. Apart from my m&s ones..

emo, your Princess Bea thread has been taken over. What a shame. I think it is the topshop one though.
Also can anyone tell me how tall jennifer metcalfe would be if she looks like this, but is a size 6-8 with a 22 inch waist.
I could cry. I am so jealous of women with that lovely hip/waist ratio.
On the other hand kellyl brook also spotted in a swimming costume. They seem to be having a 'moment'!

The DM does have the best celeb photos though doesn't it. I blame ollie. She started it!

OP posts:
blossoming · 22/06/2011 12:35

ollie, we could all post photos and play 'rate my dh'!

OP posts:
blossoming · 22/06/2011 12:43

I don't like Rachel Zoe very much, but this photo is adorable.

Can you tell I'm having a lovely relaxing lunchtime today?

May pop over to see what's happening in the Jigsaw sale next. Happy days!

bloss I know I know - oops. I think she looks wonderful now but don't dare make further comment! Glad your lesson went well.

blossoming · 22/06/2011 12:56

Lkb Anna is sold out in red. Oh no!

OP posts:
OllieinOrange · 22/06/2011 13:03

In the interests of fairness (ie oggling other people's husbands!) ) have posted a pic of DH on MN profile for MN mates - for limited time only!
(It was his professional pic for work last year hence his slightly bemused look - he hates having photo taken but this one still sends my heart a flutter!)

AllBuggiedOut · 22/06/2011 13:10

Good work bloss

roary you look stunning. I have always coveted that dress! And (bonkers as I am) haved found it on US e-bay and wondering whether to buy it. What size are you in and would you say it comes up pretty standard? And I'm slightly concerned that the e-bay one although it looks dark brown describes itself as dark charcoal. Can you remember what they called the colour of yours? Thanks Smile

blossoming · 22/06/2011 13:18

Very handsome ollie. Give me a minute and I'll post one of mine too!

OP posts:
redllamayellowllama · 22/06/2011 13:20

Just popping in a little bit Blush to say, after reading WIT, that I clearly didn't get married in the same place, but the doors of our wedding venues look a little similar...

Like the idea of rate my DH! I may participate.

Jalouse have arrived and I think they're a bit big. Am contemplating putting an in-sole in and dealing with it as I have one foot bigger than the other, so a 5 may not work and I can't see 5s in stock anywhere. I do love them, but a potentially expensive mistake. What to do?

Commedesgarcons · 22/06/2011 13:24

Hello. dolce here. Have namechanged. Nothing ominous...just bored with my ole name and coveting some cdg stuff. They have very cute large purses which double as clutches. Great colours. Can't seem to link for some reason.

Bloss, well done on yesterday and good luck for today!

Feeling v virtuous as had long walk today, pilates last night, and actually feel quite good.

Trying to find some holiday clubs for DCs as I know they will need to channel some energy during the hols. We are away 2 weeks of it, but still Hmm.

PlumSykes · 22/06/2011 13:29

Red, are they big on the foot, or sloppy on the ankle? I have Ash Mikas, which seem a bit big, but am fairly sure it's more the open-necked style rather than the foot size. Could be kidding myself though, as they too were a bargain and I didn't want to return them.

blossoming · 22/06/2011 13:31

Hi commedesg, I am pretty bored with my name too. Where are you off to these holidays? I think we have 7 weeks off. 2 days in London. Are people still up for lunch on the 29th July? One week big Welsh cultural festival, and 2 weeks in France. That still leaves a lot of entertaining to do!
I have posted pic of dh with dd. So cute. In St Trop last year dahlings Wink.

ollie and bloss your DH's are cute!

red hahahahahaha!

westernbelle great timing to buy maternity- look out for the Isabella Oliver sale!

AllBuggiedOut · 22/06/2011 13:40

I've just had confirmation that my massive Baker Ross order is on its way; always good to stock up on craft supplies prior to the holidays! We are going to the Isle of Wight for a week with my parents and brother. Nothing else planned at all, although it's DS1 & 2s birthdays before the kids go back to school and I expect we'll arrange something for those.

May I see your photos please bloss?

Have sent back the two Banana Republic jackets, but the skirt is a keeper. The Isabella Oliver easy twill skirt I ordered for comparison is hideous; awful colour and too tight to walk in Hmm

I love those Current/Elliots carcoiofi. Do you think they're dark blue or black?

Have ordered Anita coat, Catala sandal in tan and gold ballet flats from Toast.

redllamayellowllama · 22/06/2011 13:46

Well, these WA men are all rather dashing, aren't they?! Mine is up too, as I know how much I love a good nose and have decided you all do too.

Well done for the interview Bloss - sounds like your preparation really paid off.

Plum - they are gappy around the ankle which will just take some getting used to I guess, but am definitely rising out of them in bare feet. I am likely to wear with tights/pop socks and reckon an insole will help. Am I being a bit nuts? I really want to keep them!

PinkOlives · 22/06/2011 13:49

hi sorry to barge in but i started a thread on current/elliot jeans sizing and did a search on it on here and your thread came up. if anyone has any how is the sizing. im a 8/10 ive read something on the net saying size down. they are the skinny pair. not sure what size to get
thanks

notyummy · 22/06/2011 13:58

DD and I are still up for a meet-up Bloss.

Holiday wise, we have just over 2 weeks in Italy/Switzerland planned. DD going to my mum and dads for a week. Hoping to do a long weekend in Scotland, plus another camping (!!) The camping is just down the road and we are not cooking - just eating at the onsite place Grin DD will love it - it is with a couple of other families from our NCT group, inc my lovely friend who will have just finished her chemo for breast cancer, so we can celebrate with wine in the sunshine outside our tents. (Maybe...) DH has some additional time off at the beginning of the holidays, so all in all the 6 weeks are nearly full. Hopefully there will only be about 6 days in total that DD will need to go to 'Kids Club' (which is run by the after-school club that she usually goes to.)

I was just in town and tried on a few things in Zara, inspired by a Telegraph article about how great it is. I was strong though and didn't buy. To be fair, 3 out of the 4 things I tried didn't work on me - but a Navy and white stripey blazer was v tempting. As I only got a navy one last month I decided ahainst in the end. Would recommend though if you are looking for a well cut one that isn't £££.

roary · 22/06/2011 14:02

Ha! Poor DH would be mortified (but secretly chuffed). Better not tell him. All the Mr w&a's very handsome. red agree with you about good noses!

ABO I can't remember what the colour was called. Mocha maybe? Can you link it on Ebay? Mine is here. I wear a 10-12 here and that dress is a US 8 and fits perfectly (I have quite broad shoulders and that affects dresses sometimes).

wideawakenurse · 22/06/2011 14:16

Love seeing all the W&A men, I have put a picture of mine on. Although after this morning, any is welcome to him. Grin

Thank you for your kind words about my rant, I think that tiredness has a lot to blame for really. Although NY I get what you mean about your job often being the job of the main breadwinner, and the downsides that come with that. I am in a similar position, in that many of my colleagues in the same role as me are childless. Funnily enough, it's something that is quite common the higher up the ladder in nursing you go.

Bloss great news the lesson went well, your outfit sounds perfect. Good luck for tomorrow too.

red I feel your pain on the Jalouse front. I popped into Topshop to look at their ones that I though were similar. They are ok, but not perfect. I found my foot slipped up in the 5 for me too. Might be worth trying on with an insole and socks etc, although beware leather does give. What colour did you order?

clevery ouch to the shoulder. What brought it on?

ABO I really like the toast pumps - their shoes are usually excellent quality.

Welcome to Ambernj1, and total respect for hunting out j Brands when you are so near to your due date. Agree with Bloss that I doubt you'll get the flats in the R&B sale. Might be worth looking out for somewhere doing a Bloch or French Sole sale instead.

PORTIA4 · 22/06/2011 14:17

Well done Bloss on the class - DH looks cute!
Red &Ollie Can I be your friend and see your photos? pretty please!
Verity love the VB bag, when DD1 came back from having spent a year in France I remember her being obsessed with them!
I have found that, when it comes to disagreemants with DH, subtle manipulation works best for us! and that's after 22 years of marriage!
