Been and had my botox injections in my number 11's so now will wait and see.

Was very nervous but the nurse put me at ease and it was over in no time.

Oh crikey - boob job - tick. Teeth veneers - tick.

Perhaps I need to go to India for a few months.

I will say though that boob job was done fifteen years ago - almost qualified as NHS job, I was so flat and it was causing so many ishoos... 4 veneers were fitted as final round of orthodontic treatment to snaggle smile.

I'm honestly not that vain. Cough.

I will say that veneers are amazing - because they don't stain so my teeth always look white and lovely. V nice to have confident smile, after years of hiding my teeth as a teen it's lovely to smile properly! So would recommend any work that improves smile. Not a great fan of those awful joke teeth that celebrities seem to like having - that's a step too far.

I've had one ampule of filler recently. To put it into context, my Consultant told me that someone who wanted a full-on extreme Jordan look would have about ten ampules injected.

I had this one ampule shared out between the white line above the pinky bit of my lip and in the naso-labial lines running from the nostrils to the corner of the mouth.

I had it done because I had started to develop "pucker lines" around my lips. I don't smoke, it's just an age thing - I'm 44. All the plumpness around your lips leeches out and dwindles as you get older. Hence the cat's arse effect. I don't want to change the way I look, just press the pause button a bit.

Each to their own, obviously, but I am completely delighted. The results are very, very subtle and exactly what I was after. I'm absolutely, definitely going to maintain it.

Re: boob jobs - I also feel that it's each to their own. My own boobs are fine but I've got a friend who used to have massive boobs and had them reduced. She's delighted and only wishes she'd done it sooner. I have another friend who had (as she put it) "boobs like an eleven year old boy" and she's had a boob job. She's absolutely thrilled. What I would say is that some people who have boob jobs go for something too big and ridiculous and porn-y looking - a subtle, natural-looking size is better, in my opinion but hey, we're all different. Some people go for an extreme look with their hair/ clothes/ make-up, don't they, so each to their own.

Agree Bobbi - I'm terrified that you can take it a step too far... which is why I've decided to put the Botox on hold for now. Need to examine my motives a bit. Nothing against people having it done, but I think I'm too young and should wait another few years. Perhaps concentrate on improving my lifestyle and staying natural (botox wise anyway!) for as long as possible!

cyril - my boobs are so subtly done that people are really surprised when I tell them! They always say they look nice though. I remember when I had it done there was a bit of a stigma to boob jobs, perpetrated by celebrities who have stretched beach balls fitted on top of their bony sternums, thus giving them a bad name. I honestly wouldn't have had a boob job if I'd just had something, anything there, and used to feel angry at perfectly good B cups going under the knife for no apparent reason!

Good for you, Bolter. My friend's the same.

I also think veneers have to be thought about very carefully. It involves filing your natural teeth down - so essentially, getting rid of them, with no returns. Life time commitment and expense. I personally wouldn't unless I had really absolutely ghastly teeth. Whitening can help with a multitude of sins, I think. Am going to treat myself this summer.

GetOrfMoiLand · 08/04/2011 11:16

I would be too terrified of having veneers - like you say you have to have your teeth ground down. Cosemtically my teeth are not very clever, however they are very strong teeth I think, I never get any pain, have no fillings etc. However they look awful - I have 4 milk teeth still with no adult teeth above them, and because of the way my jaw has grown in order to have full size teeth implant I would need major jaw realignment surgery, 4 teeth remived and braces top and bottom for a minimum of 3 years. I can't be arsed with that.

So I will have misshapen teeth forever more I think.

Cyril that is great re the filler - that is exactly what I am looking for, nothing unsubtle but something to keep the puckering pout look at bay.

MrsDaiBreadTwo · 08/04/2011 14:37

I am on 48 hours after my juvederm fillers (as I posted in great length on the fillers thread). All of the tenderness has gone. I still have a little bruising under my eyes as I had the fillers in my tear troughs and the apples of my cheeks to get rid of my under eye bags. I absolutely look refreshed, bags gone and unbelievably "cheek bones" for the first time in many, many years.

Bobbidazzler I totally understand what you are saying. I would never have even contemplated Botox a couple of years ago. I went for the Botox just knowing that I would never, ever, ever have fillers and here I am two weeks later. The only thing that I would like now is something called Dermasweep to improve the condition of my skin which has deteriorated after living in a very harsh climate.

I think the point is, Mrs Dai, that it's really easy to make grand and sweeping statements about growing old gracefully and being proud of your laughter lines that tell a story (etc) when you are young and gorgeous and everything is plump and pert and full of good stuff. I know I did.

Then one day you look in the mirror and see the face of your severest maiden aunt glowering back at you.

These little procedures - Botox, fillers, tooth whitening, just soften things, press the pause button and help you to stay looking how you feel inside.
