Been and had my botox injections in my number 11's so now will wait and see.

Was very nervous but the nurse put me at ease and it was over in no time.

I think Botox is the bee's knees too. I'm 44 and I started when I was forty. Have it once every four months from a Consultant Plastic Surgeon and pay £275 each time. I've just started having fillers too.

I agree that these pictures seem to show that Mrs Rooney has had Botox. Good for her - I think she looks great.

I also would spend more money on maintenance if I had it... Love those lashes and Bio Sculpture Gel nais but only have them done when I go away on holiday.

PS my Botox keeps developing over a period of several weeks (four?).

Hope it turns out really well for you, OP, and that you're pleased with the results.

noddyholder · 06/04/2011 08:15

The lashes make as much of a difference as botox in a different way. I look kind of ready to go with them. Fillers and peels a no for me though just don't like them! My skin is good though just forehead lines a gogo!

appleslice · 06/04/2011 13:40

I am very pleased with my botox and its only been 5 days, cant believe how refreshed I look even when shattered (due to finding having 2 teenage DS more tiring than toddlers Grin keep looking in the mirror. I have only told one person in RL she says that she keeps looking to see if I have a frozen look and she thinks they have done a great job and now she wants to have it done.

oooh I am having those eyelashes done

Right - I have booked my botox consultation at SK:N clinic in Cheltenham for a week Saturday.

I am ridiculously excited.

TheBolter · 06/04/2011 16:03

I am going round and round in circles over this...

Does anyone know of any horror stories? I'm just a bit freaked out about putting poison in my body... can it leak to other areas? Consultant yesterday said no, but internet research says possibly. Aaargh... any advice welcome!

noddyholder · 06/04/2011 16:08

The bolter I was terrified from a medical POV and although I knew from the hospital I attend that it is well tested in patients for medical conditions and in much higher doses I was worried about it moving. This is why I went to a consultant surgeon rather than a beauty salon as I was just too nervous. He was brilliant and it was very much a medical procedure he took lots of notes etc I found the first few days a bit weird because my brow felt heavy I felt tired Hmm Apart from that no effects at all bar one small bruise which went in a day or 2 HTH

TheBolter · 06/04/2011 17:11

Thanks for your reassurance Noddy. I'll look up my local private hospital too then.

You know, one of the reasons that I'm thinking of having it done is because at the end of a long day I have this band of pain across my forehead and centred on my glabella. [sp?] It's almost as if it NEEDS to have a 'rest' as the tension in it causes headaches. I find myself pulling it apart to relieve the pain - does that make sense? I wonder if Botox would help... I know it can help migraines.

noddyholder · 06/04/2011 17:35

The consultant said mine was definitely lined due to tension and squinting as it was so much more lined than the rest of my face. He said it was like 2 people Hmm. I have always been plagued with headaches and I have had less hadn't really thought of that. The difference in price between hospital and salon was not enough for me to risk it

cybbo · 06/04/2011 17:50

A litle boy at my nursery with cerebral palsy has Botox injected into his leg muscles, so from a safety point of view it cant be all bad

moragbellingham · 07/04/2011 14:09

£300 is rather alot!
Mine cost £350 but it was from a surgeon who is currently waiting do do a face transplant. I felt quite safe with him!!

GetOrfMoiLand · 07/04/2011 14:28

Noddy I am the same - I am very line free on the rest of my face but between my eyebrows is mapped with fine lines, due to permafrowning at spreadsheets and squinintg because I am half blind.

If I don't get botox now I will look awful as I get older.

I also get tension headaches, it will be brilliant if it can help with this.

AliSheedy · 07/04/2011 14:31

Still no before and after pics. I need to see results before I get my wallet out, ladies Grin

MrsDaiBreadTwo · 07/04/2011 15:52

I have just posted on the fillers thread and thought I would add my twopence worth here too. I had Botox a couple of weeks ago having wanted it for years for the very bad number elevens between my eyebrows. It was amazingly painless and quick. I really look much less grumpy than I did. I have a friend who had it for her tension headaches and swears that it has pretty much eradicated them. I am not particularly vain or high maintenance (though if you read my post on fillers it sounds as though I am) I was just fed-up with looking drained and haggered all the time.

cybbo · 07/04/2011 15:54

Mrs Dai I was thinking about being thought of as vain /shallow for having Botox etc this morning and came to conclusion if your house starts to look shabby and worn do you just accept it as part of houses wear and tear? or do you fill and redecorate? I'm planning on filling and redecorating

sshnapps · 07/04/2011 17:08

can you give me the name of who you used noddy please?

noddyholder · 07/04/2011 19:08

Andrew Yelland at the Nuffield Smile I hope I get commission!

appleslice · 07/04/2011 22:44

Getorf I am always squinting at spreadsheets to, and I have it done a week now and gosh what a difference I had a dull ache for 5 days in that area but I just took totally refreshed.

Cybbo well said

Ali i will try and post some photos this weekend....

My next thing is going to be teeth-whitening - am loving the botox.

The only thing is that its making me more critical of the rest of my face and I would love a boob job but too scared of proper surgery for 'vanity'. Although wouldn't rule it out.

God if I was rich - I'd be having weekly facials, nails etc.

I didn't tell DH about botox for about a fortnight - he thought it was hilarious when I told him. I also told one friend but only because I could guess she'd had it too.

cybbo · 08/04/2011 07:19

Did anyone watch that thing on BBC 3 about botox and fillers last night?

Despite some of the 'addicts' looking as rough as f* it made me want it even more

I watched with H who didnt seem impressed Shock

cyrilsneer · 08/04/2011 07:33

Mrs CB - I'm going to start a new thread about tooth-whitening. I've had it done and I'd be interested to hear your plans and other people's experiences.

noddyholder · 08/04/2011 08:48

No no no to fillers and boob jobs!

GetOrfMoiLand · 08/04/2011 09:31

I was also thinking about fillers.

I am worried that I am starting to develop small lines round the mouth. If I fell 'em now will that stop them from getting worse do you think? I don't want to end up looking like the Quentin Blake drawing of the wicked grandmother of George's Marvellous Medicine fame.

It's a good thing I don't play the lottery because if I was rich I would probably spend all my time having cosmetic procedures done.

BobbiDazzler · 08/04/2011 09:41

Where will it stop, though? I think fillers = one step too far, personally.
