Bargain ballet flats!

phooey · 27/03/2011 22:04

So DH dragged me to TK Maxx - he's a bit obsessed.

Anyway they had Bloch ballet flats reduced from £130 to £24!

I'm obsessed with good quality ballet flats so got 3 pairs: a real snakeskin pair, a brown leather pair and a grey nubuck pair with feathers on Smile They had these ones in cream and black too, which I resisted.

They are a-may-zing. No words to describe the comfort and beauty.

oh you must get them - i've promised myself a pair everytime i see a colour i like at that price!!!

£25 for a £110 pair of shoes - no argument!! Are the green ones the plain pale green or the two tone with black?

i really want the snake skin and red ones. am kicking myself for not buying the Anastasia ones in navy from the Anna site recently!!

stillfrazzled · 30/03/2011 15:20

If anyone's interested, they had white and mint green in the Southend store, sizes 3, 4 and 5.

No farking good to me at size 7, sob wibble sob. Let the record show that if anyone finds a red, grey, black, navy or snakeskin pair in a 7 and is prepared to buy them, let me pay back through Paypal and mail them to me I will love them for ever and ever.

Long shot, of course, but have been seduced into desperation by tales of comfort and beauty... Smile

RamblingRosa · 30/03/2011 15:40

I'll check next time I'm in there tomorrow stillfrazzled

Hmm, maybe you're right OhCobblers. They were plain green. Sort of pale but also quite bright IYSWIM. Not mint. More apple. And matt, not patent.

But what would you wear them with other than jeans? Not exactly a neutral colour is it?!

I can imagine they'd look amazing with a tan though.

OhCobblers · 30/03/2011 15:46

ah ok i know which ones you mean - i've seen them around a lot.
IMHO those are a weird colour which is why i've not bought them! i'm holding out for a red pair / peep toe or snakeskin!!

KristinaM · 30/03/2011 16:52

I have checked out my local tk maxi and got a pair of grey patent for £18. They also had pinky peach leather and purple patent with black toes.sorry no 7s

I noted that the leather 39 were too small but the patent 39 were fine ( I am a 6.5). Also that tk Maxx put their size 6 stickers on the 39 and the 39.5 so perhaps worth checking the sole of the shoe for the size you want

KristinaM · 30/03/2011 17:00

I forgot to say that I don't usually wear flat shoes but I am risking it for £18 on the advice of you lot

OhCobblers · 30/03/2011 17:52

yes KM i've noticed that the matt leather i have in a 39.5 are a perfect fit as are the patent in a 39 - strange 'cos they're all leather aren't they??
which is why i know exactly what to buy should i see anything online priced as a bargain!! i also send my sister off to her TK MAxx to keep an eye out for me!!

phooey · 30/03/2011 21:21

Rambling are they not real snakeskin? I have a purple snakeskin wallet from Angel Jackson and the shoes feel just the same. The label has the funny dead-cow-shape that means leather, but I thought it was maybe a broad definition if animal skin.

I bought some in pale grey today. They felt so comfortable the minute I put them on. Am now concerned though that I am merely jumping on the bandwagon and not really in absolute need of pale grey flats Hmm I can feel a return coming on!

stillfrazzled · 31/03/2011 13:27

tulpe, what size are they? If you decide against and they're 7 or 6.5 I'll have them...

OhCobblers · 31/03/2011 13:40

tulpe i think grey goes with lots of things : black, navy, white, etc? although i'm absolutely no expert!!
do you not think having a pair of shoes that cost less than £30 when normally £110 is a great reason to keep them!!! Grin plus they're the most comfortable shoes ever!!!

i bought a pair in fuscia pink today though i noticed the usual £24.99 is now £27.99 Hmm. maybe HO at TK MAxx have seen this thread - time to kill it?? Grin

tulpe · 31/03/2011 14:04

Fuschia would be lovely :) Am v Envy at you OhCobblers

I wear a lot of navy and my favourite summer trousers are white ankle skimmers so I guess I will wear them.

Plus the fact that they are all leather is a real bonus for me. Cannot abide synthetic shoes - particularly the lining and innersole. In an ideal world I would have had either red or bronze.

And yes, being the wife of a dutchman (:o ) I am always keen on a bargain! I wouldn't pay full price but can see why they are expensive as they are incredibly comfortable.

stillfrazzled they are a 38.5. I am usually a 39 but these are a perfect fit. In fact, even the 38s were okay but probably not after walking for a while.

If anyone is near Milton Keynes (the Bletchley store) there is a relatively good supply of the mint-green & white, a couple of pairs of purple and a few pairs of grey left. Mostly 38s and 39s.

RamblingRosa · 31/03/2011 14:09

Phooey I don't know Confused. I assumed most snakeskin was just an "effect" but I really have no idea. Have I done a bad thing Blush

KristinaM · 31/03/2011 14:21

still frazzled - i was back in tk maxx to return stuff today and they only had the pistachio / white patent ones and white leather in 5s. they were £27 IIRC. I will keep a look out for you - is it the 39.5 or the 40 you need?

my grey patent ones were £18 on clearance [smug]

tulpe · 31/03/2011 14:25

Envy KristinaM - mine were £27!

KristinaM · 31/03/2011 14:28

na na na na na [sings]

OhCobblers · 31/03/2011 15:54

balls - i mean to look at the clearance section today and forgot. nevermind the pink ones are my 4th pair afterall!!!
i did ask a member of staff what their delivery day was and she said Mon - Fri - oh well, that nails it down doesn't it Grin

those green/white ones were about today - quite a few pairs!!! i fear that no-one has the wardrobe to match!!!!

BrainThrustMastery · 31/03/2011 21:55

I gave in and ventured to my local TK Maxx...they only had the creamy-pink ones left, but in most sizes. I was feeling Hmm about people saying how comfy they were, but you're all right! Grin

Now to find stuff to wear with them...

moragbellingham · 01/04/2011 12:42

Today.......my local TKMaxx are mostly having a brown moment. Pale brown, dark brown and sepia snakeskin.

Bratfink · 01/04/2011 12:54

they don't have them in my T K Maxx Sad

however i do have a few pairs from other places and was wondering, do yours have a sort of oval shaped padded bit inside, in the heel? i find it uncomfortable when i've been wearing them for a while, the edges kind of dig in the sole of my foot

do i have hyper sensitive feet or does anyone else get his?

FreeButtonBee · 01/04/2011 12:55

LOL at the daily Bloch/TK Maxx updates!

stillfrazzled · 01/04/2011 13:12

Morag, what sizes did they have?

moragbellingham · 01/04/2011 13:36

3,4,5 and a 5 in grey patent. I did have a look in the 6/7 section but strangely nothing.

stillfrazzled · 01/04/2011 13:46

Thanks for looking. It is weird that only small sizes seem to be on sale.

moragbellingham · 01/04/2011 17:03

I was beginning to get a bit cheesed off that everyone was finding 5s!
What size are you after stillfrazzeled?
