Best of luck with it Bloss and agree with your DH about informal chat - anything to set you apart from the other applicants because these days there is likely to be a fair bit of competition.

LetThemEatCake · 15/01/2011 18:46

Hmm, so drove out to new house today

Time from current home to Westfield: 1hr
Time from Westfield to new home: 20 mins

Asked dh nicely to stop at said retail temple on drive back to pick up tank, which of course is now only available in medium Angry Did however manage to buy a pair of shoes Blush which I'd seen in selfrdges at Xmas but not in my size .. And here they were, in my size and reduced from 149 to 40 bc of a 'fault' which remains undetectable to my eyes.

Is that weird? Two pairs of gold heels in a week, in my huge size, both further reduced bc of scuffing or whatever!!

In car so will link later ... When I'm on the reiss site buying the tank Wink

vin I love that leopard L&L scarf. Can you believe that DH went to LV shop with DD this morning to get me the pink scarf. Had all gone as and he is on a waiting list now. Think I don't want it that much, especially as it is mostly cotton. Still feel chuffed that he went to such trouble to get me something I wanted.

bloss Talk to the headmaster and that job is yours! Don't know how bad driving on B-roads is but school holidays off sound great. Would you have to do extra hours for marking / lesson prep too or is it all covered in the 8-5?

FritziGreenEyes · 15/01/2011 18:48

Welcome faux! Hope you love your Janice as much as I do!

notyummy · 15/01/2011 19:22

Welcome Faux!

Good work on the shoes LTEC...and good news ref Westfield location.

Am wearing my houli-likies today here, after they have been stuffed at the back of the draw for ages whilst I wore my Vin skinnies and coated skinnies on rotation whenever I wore casual trews. Wore with breton top and wedge heels.

Sorry for hearing that Bea was a monkey in the restaurant Tracey!

blossoming · 15/01/2011 19:27

fritzi, I have detailed lesson plans and schemes of work from my teaching days. Full time would mean 'free' lessons during the day when you could get ahead.
Thanks everything for the tip. PM me your address and I'll send you the scarf. Didn't sell and just sitting in my drawer.

Hello all - need an opinion and know I will get honest one here.

Did I make a mistake today? Saw these shoes in TK Maxx and tried on. Perfect fit but really not sure re the colour (am a Spring if that matters?) but just in general, not very me. However they were £13. Any thoughts?

AntPants1 · 15/01/2011 19:42

Hi guys what is "Janice"?

traceybath · 15/01/2011 19:44

I like them rip and can imagine them working well with skinnies and what a bargain!

RipMacWinkle · 15/01/2011 19:44

Hi Ants

I'm a regular lurker, sporadic poster. No way I can keep with the avidness on here [grin[

But here is Janice in Navy.

notyummy · 15/01/2011 19:46

Ants - This is Janice. Still available in stripe here.

Yes Blossoming - 'crafts, fitness training and personal development' (otherwise known as shopping Wink) should all be on the CV!

RipMacWinkle · 15/01/2011 19:46

Pants Tracey. I thought that as soon as I got home. Was a little harassed with DD. They were lovely with my slim leg jeans today but the colour threw me.

Still at that price.... Think I may go back tomorrow and see if they are still there.

AntPants1 · 15/01/2011 19:47

Thanks Rip. Tis a lovely dress but more for slender W&A ladies. I am very curvy with 34F boobs s I do not think it is for me. But is lovely. Sigh

Zembo · 15/01/2011 19:51

NY your DD is hilarious Grin

Tracey gorgeous shoes (I take back everything I said about courts, I was of course referring to 80's style ones). We're going Pizza Expressing (a la Cakes DS1) tomorrow. We go fairly often actually and my two are trained up now Grin. What did you wear?

I've booked my train tickets and arriving in London around 2.30pm. I'm a total lightweight compared to you lot - having hair and makeup done hadn't even occurred to me. You will all see me pretty au natural I think Smile

Carciofi I really like the Belstaff's you've ordered, I prefer them to the perforated version with the higher heel.

Vin sorry to hear interviewers were a bit blinkered, their loss if they don't offer you a place. I really like you anyway Smile

Bloss of course you've got every chance of getting the job. It'd be a huge lifestyle change for you, but sounds like you're v interested. I'd visit them as well as having the informal chat.

NY and Marsha, I really appreciate the efforts you're going to in order to make sure we have a lovely evening at the MOAM. I wish I could contribute to the discussion but am totally clueless about London. Also, as a muslim. I don't ordinarily frequent bars at all, so making a massive exception on this occassion just to meet you all.

Yes Vin I did a search when I got home because they were a funny colour - apparently "Ochre".

They were in the Clearance section for £13. Doh. I may have made a boo boo. Neither Wise nor Avid here Blush

traceybath · 15/01/2011 20:05

Lets just say that Bea loved her dough balls but was then bored. Luckily they had a toy box and she played fairly happily. I wore Oww stripey top and skinnies with belstaff ankle boots - indigo version.

DS2 is a funny boy - just sat on my lap and said 'life is for living mummy' he's just 3!

LetThemEatCake · 15/01/2011 20:10

welcome faux - the Janice is a great intro the world of W&A Grin

waves to vin who discovered the Janice

Rip I have the janice in navy and stripe and think it is very flattering. Choo is larger of nork than I and has the stripey and is very happy with how it looks - worth a go?

Well done on surviving PE with the three tracey - we went to the one in our new location last week and they were out of colouring in/ pencils - I was like WHAT!!?? what kind of place IS this!!

however went to my (new) local costa this arvo and was encouraged by the mass of glossy-haired, well-shod, Breton-striped lovelie around Wink

here are my new shoes slightly trannyish to be sure, but there's something a bit fab about them

love the yellow blochs! go back and buy!

LetThemEatCake · 15/01/2011 20:10

lovelies, I mean

LetThemEatCake · 15/01/2011 20:11

oh and snap tracey - also in OWW stripes and skinnies today. But with leopard pumps and red coat.

your ds is so cute

Zembo · 15/01/2011 20:16

Tracey I read that as 'life is for loving mummy' - most impresive and too cute. I missed the OWW top, can you link to it, just incase I need it too Grin

Oh and forgot to say 'welcome' to Faux

Zembo · 15/01/2011 20:17

LOVE the shoes Cake

carciofi · 15/01/2011 20:20

Rip, yes, go back and get the shoes!

Good shopping, LTEC.

I don't find eating out with DD very relaxing, maybe in another year.

I like cotton scarves for summer, I have two lovely Pucci ones. I think the shoes were a much better buy than the LV scarf, Tracey.

I am searching through my wardrobe for anything from Boden I can ebay to buy this:

Glad you had a fun night, Bloss and good luck with the job application. I bet you'll get it. Did you buy any of the new Boden range for your DD? I did and it is all going back, it doesn't look like much for the money.

Thanks for the vest links, I will check them out on Tues.

pickledsiblings · 15/01/2011 20:36

V. nice shoes LTEC - you are certainly doing your research on new location Grin. What's the house like? I know you are going back to Australia later this year but I don't know the back story. Can you share?

Tracey, last time I took DC to our local
PE they were far too well behaved Wink. We all agreed never to return - it felt like we were in Sunnyside Daycare (Toy Story 3).

Zembo, glad you are coming to the meetup. I'm a lightweight too in the beautifying stakes. Do you know what you are wearing?
