Would a camel cape be entirely wise? Or a pair of houlihans a bit too avid?? Who cares!

It appears you have lovely dresses carciofi. You'll have to post a pic of your dress wardrobe a la romana!
I'm trying to think where dc1 hides things. Down the side of the sofa? In other bags? In drawers? Does she have a purse? On the bookshelf? In the toy box? Hope you find them soon.

Shame about your missed trip ltec. Happy browsing instead!

Oh yes -meant to say Carcofi - I eventually found my cards posted into the laundry basket when I stupidly let DD play with my purse.

LetThemEatCake · 05/08/2010 21:04

god - as if the school run thread wasn't enough - now they're dissing tattoos on the "style rules" thread.

anyone else ever not realise just how thirsty they are until they actually drink some water? and then glug like, 2 litres in 60 seconds??

FritziGreenEyes · 05/08/2010 21:25

carciofi - Fantastic dress. I love Marlene Birger! I did tell DH and we thoroughly cleaned cufflink in antiseptic stuff and I threw away rubber gloves.

OllieWollieWoo · 05/08/2010 21:25

Love the KM column dress too Fritzi - may see if our local store has it cos still need a posh frock for the formal part of the October weddding - was hoping to make do with a LBD but bride is hinting heavily that she wants ladies in long dresses! Also loved the shape of this KM one but can't seem to wear patterns - wich thy had it in plain blue: here

Marsha - think you asked about my colouring - very pale skin with ash blonde hair thats getting darker & darker (am in denial about this and highlight!).

Hells - can we play guess the JL celeb? Naomi Campbell waltzed past me in the kitchenware dept of JL in Oxford Street once! I didn't think she did normal type shopping! Maybe she was taking a shortcut?!

Has anyone got water on their mobile and it stopped working? Keys dont seem to work tho still receiving texts - just can't access them - v annoying. Am hoping it will dry out and work tomorrow.

OWW dd tipped water over my phone, first the keys stuck and then it completely stopped working... Apparently you should take it apart so it can dry out. Dd is v good at breaking phones, she managed 2 last year so she's not allowed anywhere near my iPhone.

LTEC - i'm with you on the tattoos, I've got a small one which is v significant. I read that thread and the school run one but just couldn't summon up the energy to post (lazy emoticon) Someone has posted on the style rules thread that diamonds are for evenings only

On a retail note, I'm after a brown bag for AW and I'm thinking about ordering this what do you think? Are oushka bags decent quality? I'm quite tough on bags so want something that can survive commuting and DD

CHOOGIRL · 05/08/2010 21:51

Going to catch up in a mo, am watching Mistresses and doing an Ocado shop. Was about to vent on the 'ultimate dress' thread but Cake beat me to it.

reallygrumpy · 05/08/2010 21:52

EIE I've just moved up to level 2 of shred and it hurts! I've got spider veins on my legs too and I've found that St tropez wash off fake tan gives quite good coverage. It doesn't cover them completely but makes them a bit less noticeable.

I've just discovered that the shoes dd was going to wear to be a bridesmaid on sat don't fit so we're going to have to go shoe shopping at Westfield tomorrow which will be a complete mare as DD hates shopping, I'm going to have to bribe her with snacks and I was always determined never to be the kind of parent who bribes their child with food... Any suggestions of where to try for bridesmaid shoes would be very welcome.

mrsjuan · 05/08/2010 22:03

gumpy - monsoon? debenhams? BHS ?

reallygrumpy · 05/08/2010 22:08

Oh and I'm lusting after these boots but they're £££. They would go with dresses and skinny jeans so maybe the cost per wear would be quite reasonable...

I've just realised that I suddenly starting posting after 2 weeks away, we got given tickets to camp bestival last weekend so work and then our festival trip kept me very busy. The festival was great, DD has her face painted everyday, ran around in fancy dress and fairy wings and met Mr Tumble. She loved camping so much that she cried when we had to come home and after a minor wardrobe panic I managed to come up with a festival wardrobe based on my biker boots and my parka which worked ok. Oh, and DH got to pick which bands and DJs we saw so he was happy too!

We have looked everywhere including the bin and nothing. We only have a small flat, can't understand where she put them! It is my own fault for letting her do whatever she wants so I can have five minutes peace. Mrs Juan, I found my watch in her laundry basket last time it went missing.

LTEC, I wore a cardigan, it was quite nippy this morning.

We went to Spot's birthday party (30th!) in Fulham Palace, it was good fun. I saw many yummy mummy cupcake bags!

Everything, the rockafella boots were half price in the sale, I got them in red. They also have the tan on sale. Did you wear the UO combats?

Very cool boots, ReallyGrumpy

Have added those slippers to my list, they look very comfy.

CHOOGIRL · 05/08/2010 22:43

Cake I bought those Tory Birch flats this morning. The choos are probably going back as not sure I love them.

Spendid dress also going back.

MM I too drink far too much wine, but hey ho

Have moved to Level 2 Shred which is a bit more challenging. I'm not sure about the 'plank jacks' tbh. Never done them in the Gym and not sure I'm doing them correctly.

carciofi · 05/08/2010 22:43

Blossoming, she has three handbags (but I checked them for cards and nada), she loves them! She likes to hang a bag off her scooter handlebars.

Choo I was going to ask what you thought of them (wanted your seal of approval) so big phew that you like them!

aaaaaaannnnnnd - guess what I just found - and bought!

this

shown to much better effect here on NaP

but quelle bargain!! not pink, granted - but not a leg to be seen

who needs a rushed Thurs eve trip to Liberty eh??

(incidentally, my friend returned the coat and then skedaddled before she could re-spend the money!)

carciofi how annoying, hope they turn up!

eie how was your night out the other night and what did you wear?

LetThemEatCake · 05/08/2010 23:20

eie I tend to prefer single breasted coats to double bc doubles only really look good done up ...

think single generally considered to be better on big busts, no? Not that that's a consideration for me but might be for you?

Oh cake that is a gorgeous dress and what a bargain!!! It will be perfect for Tuscan holiday.

Had wasabi peanuts and prosecco Aperol while watching Mad Men with DH. Feel now slightly sick and will follow everything's example and have some mint tea.

OllieWollieWoo · 06/08/2010 07:54

Gorgeous dress LTEC. Perfect for a Tuscan sunset.

Looks like I need a new phone - my third in 12 months! (Split orange juice over last one!). Just really annoying re cost (things like phones are pricey over here). Also need a new kettle as it was a leak from that which caused it!

Beautiful day here so am getting the kids ready and off out somewhere nice - maybe a cycle trip to Delft? Hope you all have a lovely Friday.

traceybath · 06/08/2010 08:00

Gorgeous dress LTEC Smile

OWW - you sound similar colouring to me and I've always suspected I'm a summer and where a lot of those colours but do also love a bit of sludgy khaki too.

EIE - yeap - I love the peacoat but think for me the princess type style will be more flattering.

I find the problem with peacoats is that they finish on widest bit of my thighs which is never a good look really.

LOL at the style rules thread - just goes to show how different we all are.

notyummy · 06/08/2010 08:03

Morning all! Posting from bed whilst DD watches Charlie and Lola [ bad mummy emoticon]. I love Gridays when I don't have to rush out to work and we have a much more relaxed start to the day.

LTEC The Tibi maxi is gorgeous!

eie - Sorry to hear the evening was a little bit dull. I am still in touch with all the people I met on our NCT course- in fact 6 of them are covering over for dinner shortly. Of the 7 couples on our course I would say I only have a really close female friend in one of them, although I do like the rest - just don't 'get' them quite as much.

Choo - Sorry to hear you are returning the Splendid dress. Thought it looked gorgeous- but not not do great on?

Re plank jacks, try and make sure you keep your bottom down so your body is in a straight line whilst doing it. It's easy fir your bottom to come up- I know, because I can see it happening in the glass door of our conservatory when I do it!
