Would a camel cape be entirely wise? Or a pair of houlihans a bit too avid?? Who cares!

Please join me ladies. Don't want to be too sad and lonely on a Friday night.......

Tracey - like those jeans but wondered if they only come in 34' leg...so hate having the trouble of having jeans taken up...
Btw, LK Bennett have black heels a la Choo in at the moment...and superb 'grape' coloured ones....they are beautiful.

traceybath · 05/08/2010 15:10

Oh no - they come in 32inch leg too.

I spend my life getting things altered though which is very dull and costly.

FritziGreenEyes · 05/08/2010 15:17

Back from Hamburg! So many lovely things you linked to and so many news that my head is spinning.

Fantastic news about your holiday cake but I feel you really need to get that pink dress to compensate for stress of holiday being off/on (and your husband should be able to bill it to JO).

Twin girls, bunny!!! Your DH will be so proud when he is out and about with all his girls (you included obviously ).

As must be monkeysmama's DH. But I agree what others said about other females being allergic to your attractiveness. That is apparently the reason for your SIL's behaviour towards you.

Forgot what else I wanted to say except that I am as you are all now FB buddies, have met in RL or will soon at the next meet up. I cancelled my FB account a few weeks ago as someone was kept contacting me and that freaked me out.

FritziGreenEyes · 05/08/2010 15:33

Just saw that cake has decided against Tibi dress, but sandals are lovely too!

esher - Eating garlic is supposed to make you unattractive for mosquitoes (and for everybody else too). Although I am also a mosquito magnet that measure has always seemed to drastic. I think I would prefer some ointment from the pharmacy.

DolceeBanana · 05/08/2010 15:37

Forgot to say that I think I can make both dates in October...and would be disappointed Cake if you could not/would not be there!!! We all would...no pressure then ! And you will still be beautifully tanned from your hols whereas we will have reverted to British paste....!

Right...you know the Tina dress...just thought I should have a necklace or a bracelet but wanted something that would fit with plum coloured dress/nude shoes...any ideas anyone?

Oh, Carciofi thanks! On LaR code...!

notyummy · 05/08/2010 15:47

Ladies - I know we are all avid readers of LTEC s blog - can I suggest this as well? Don't worry LTEC - it is in no way competition as a very different subject matter, but you strike me as ladies who like a giggle and this made laugh. It is by a good friend of ours, but I am in no way getting kickbacks

For anyone who has ever wrestled (literally) with a small child....

OWW, nice jacket!

Tracey, lovely jeans.

Well, dd got my wallet out while I was in the shower this morning, she threw my debit card in the toilet so I was able to retrieve that but cannot find the other cards (credit card, gym membership, etc). I have searched in all her usual hiding places but no luck. She now keeps saying "where's mummy's cards?" and looking very baffled. I have the DKNY cozy on the way and have also ordered the DVF scarf so possibly just as well I am now credit card-less.

NY, I could do with a Futility Vest.

LetThemEatCake · 05/08/2010 18:27

I had a nice-ish pea coat from Uniqlo, few years ago now - might be worth a lok for anyone who doesn't fancy paying DKNY prices.

new arrivals email from My-wardrobe full of swoonable stuff, they really lift their game in AW don't they??

crossing everything that dh wraps on time tonight as dying for even an hour or so with gf in Liberty.

Wearing skinny jeans, black Blochs (hello Fritzi!!!) and this top in bright pink today. Very fond of this top but was really hoping to not have to wear it for another 6 weeks or so at least. What is with this weather?? On plus side, have washed and line-dried all of the sheets, towels etc today. Nothing like a good blustery wind on this 'ere high hill.

LetThemEatCake · 05/08/2010 18:29

oh no carciofi!! LOL at your dd though.

notyummy don't be daft. Looking fwd to reading

LetThemEatCake · 05/08/2010 18:31

one last post, I promise. Lovely jeans tracey. I may give them a whirl.

FritziGreenEyes · 05/08/2010 19:18

OWW - I'm a summer too! I know that some people are a bit about the whole colour thing, but I thought it was great to have a couple of hours just to talk about how you look. Hope you'll enjoy the style consultation as well. And: Sleep well on your new mattress.

cake - Walked a day around Hamburg in my black Blochs and have never had such comfortable flats. Enjoy your evening in Liberty!

carciofi - I know it's not funny but I just pictured you retrieving your credit card this morning. DD loved to play with DH's silver cufflinks and I once had to fish out one of them from the toilet bowl. I was already dressed up to meet him at the opera but too embarrassed to ask our babysitter! Oh the glamour .

Went to Urban Outfitters only store in Germany in Hamburg but have to say that I felt a bit old out of place there. I know there are some fans among the A&W ladies but I couldn't find anything.

One reason I love Hamburg is because there are a also some British shops you don't have anywhere else in Germany (not exciting for you, but for me the next best thing). Tried on some dresses in Karen Millen, here: Satin one shoulder and this. Didn't buy anything as I don't really need any more going out dresses but everyday stuff for A/W. Loved the term "casual gorgeousness" someone on another thread (was it the one about schoolrun outfits?). This is what I'm trying to achieve!

hellsbelles · 05/08/2010 19:19

cake (I will never mention skinny thing again...I promise ). How do you do that linking thing to things that are no longer on NAP? I have a few things I've bought that are sold out and can never find the links.

I love that top - its gorgeous.

I've got some new MIH grey skinnies which were tight this morning but now are falling down? How the hell are you supposed to work out sizing when they do that?

I wore them with peasant type brown silk type (sounds awful but bear with me) and some heeled lace up boots I found at the back of my wardrobe...and I think the look worked really well. Bumped into a minor celeb in John Lewis (buying a tumble dryer). I think he's gay but he still gave me an appreciative look (very rare for me - I never get looks).

notyummy · 05/08/2010 19:34

Fritzi - That KM column dress is stunning.

Tracey - I do like those jeans. Do you think the straight leg rather than skinny? (That is, more forgiving on my thighs!)

OP posts:
traceybath · 05/08/2010 19:36

NY - they're quite tight on the thigh but more slim than skinny fitting if that makes sense.

Hells - I have MIH grey skinnies and sized down as they do stretch. However for the first hour I look sausage like - think its because they're such thin material.

And kudos to you getting looks from celebs

hellsbelles · 05/08/2010 19:42

err top not type?!

carciofi · 05/08/2010 19:50

Hells, if you sign into your account on NAP, you can see your order history and link to the stuff you've bought.

Fritzi, ugh, did you tell your dh?!

Still no sign of the cards and I will never get a replacement before going to Ireland next weekend!

carciofi · 05/08/2010 19:51

Or go to your wishlist and there is a section called My closet, which shows your previous purchases. I wore this today.

MarshaBrady · 05/08/2010 19:54

Ooh what a lovely dress Carciofi!

carciofi · 05/08/2010 20:05

Thanks Marsha.
DH now home and looking in vain for my cards. DD has wandered off, bored with the game.

hellsbelles · 05/08/2010 20:08

Thanks Carciofi! I'll try that (seems so obvious now you've told me!)

LetThemEatCake · 05/08/2010 20:10

not at all hells - I take what you say on board but, as you will know from yesterday's convo about your pics, some are more flattering than the reality. Also, looking passably slim at a 4 year old's b'day party ain't quite the same as making the grade in a bikini in Italy!!

anyway, the other thing you can do to link to out of stock items is just to google the item name, if you know it. That will usually bring up an nap link as the first hit.

As you may have guessed, no Liberty for me - dh still not home. Bit disappointed but prob best I stay out of danger zone anyway, esp when pressed for time ....

off to console myself with lovely links ...

hellsbelles · 05/08/2010 20:18

oh no Cake. I am trying to wean myself off smileys but I have to do a face for your missed Liberty trip.

LetThemEatCake · 05/08/2010 20:18

ooh, bet you looked gorgeous hells. Hurrah for the appreciative once-over

lovely dresses fritzi, fun trying on glam evening stuff even if no intention of buying.

Lovely dress carci, did you wear a jacket? I was freezing half of today and boiling the rest of the time (esp when pushing the roundabout at the park - honestly, why don't any of the other parents ever step up??! )

traceybath · 05/08/2010 20:32

LTEC - pain about missed trip to libertys.

Fritzi - love trying on evening wear. When I was very down after having ds1 and feeling very under-appreciated I spent a lovely hour trying on diamonds in lovely jewellers

Am watching the trinny and susannah videos - most funny and they're wearing some lovely stuff.

Carciofi - gorgeous dress.

mrsjuan · 05/08/2010 20:56

Evening all,
Some lovely links tonight - like the look of those jeans Tracey although I would be another one who needed them taking up.

Pea coats look like very wise buys - does anyone have a link to a nice one for under £200?

Fritzi - lovely dresses - I bet that was fun - I remember when my friend and I were about 17 we went to Selfridges and tried on evening dresses worth £££££££ - would never have the guts to do it now.

DH and I went to Alton Towers today (SIL babysat for DD )- my eyes! There were some real sights - far too many cheap harem pants and glads, jeggings worn as jeans, ill advised playsuits etc. I wore UO combats (which finished the day virtually round my knees) primark t shirt & zara cardigan. We had fast track tickets which made the experience lots more fun!
