Would a camel cape be entirely wise? Or a pair of houlihans a bit too avid?? Who cares!

x-post Verity, thanks very much Lovely shoes and bag (though swoon over the Celine!).

FritziGreenEyes · 31/07/2010 22:54

Just back from BBQ with friends. Wore grey cotton sun dress black studded sandals and denim jacket. Was asked by friend where I got my clothes from as I always looked so stylish. Offered to take her shopping some time as she needs new clothes and feels very insecure after birth of DC2. Looking forward to playing fashion fairy .

tracey - Love the outfit your outfit for the wedding today. Sounds like a nice change from floaty Coast dresses.

Lovely picture carciofi. Would get the darker colour.

Good luck for tomorrow whelk! Have you chosen your outfit yet?

Fantastic skirt Marsha. Can see how it will work with different things and could be dressed up or down.

cake - I honestly admire your creativity and energy. The kids must have loved the treasure hunt! I make goodie bags part of a game too. Every child gets one anyway so it isn't really a problem.

plum - Glad you have sorted things with your friend. I can't wear yellow but love your good mood yellow sunshine dress.

Waves back to hells and good night to everyone.

FritziGreenEyes · 31/07/2010 22:57

tracey obviously only had one outfit....

Everything, that sounds tough. Won't he talk?

I haven't ordered the cardigan, I felt guilty as I don't bring in any money and have just booked a flight home for a friend's 40th in September. Sometimes I miss work!

FritziGreenEyes · 01/08/2010 19:13

Was anyone looking for a sheepskin coat the other day? Maybe this? But probably too bulky...

traceybath · 01/08/2010 19:40

Toy Story 3 - well I cried and DS1 cried - it was lovely and I'd highly recommend.

LTEC - hope party went well and children were duly appreciative of your Shakespearian treasure hunt.

Everything - have you made any decisions about your DH as yet? Hard to do when he's being so uncommunicative.

Vin - stay strong - you know you are young and beautiful and deserve to be with a man who you love and makes you feel special. Have you ever tried posting in relationships as there are some very wise women there and lots of people who've been through similar.

Choo - how gorgeous is your DD - was just having a quick look on FB and she is utterly stunning.

And Hells - wow - you are one attractive family!

All children in bed and have an hour to peruse the interweb before Sherlock.

mrsjuan · 01/08/2010 19:52

Sorry you're having a rough time everything -you sound really down and tired. Hope things are on the up for you soon.

Who was it that linked the yellow dress? Was it Plum? It is beyond gorgeous.

Cake Hope you and P had a great party and that the rhyming treasure hunt went down well. I can't wait to start DD on our family tradition of Easter Bunny hunts. My mum has done one for my sister and I for as long as I can remember - starting off with picture clues when we were tiny and progressing to cryptic clues (yes, we still have one ). We are very competetive about it . P will be nearly 2 next Easter so I reckon she should be about ready to join in.

Sorry for wildly off topic tangenting.

Back on topic. What do you all think of headwear for weddings? I have this dress for a wedding in a couple of weeks and was wondering about one of those flowery hair clip things to match one of the colours in the sash. But all the ones I've seen are pretty naff and look cheap - should I just leave it?

I also need comfy but stylish silver shoes. I bought some Ash ones but have reluctantly decided they are too small for my fat feet so they will have to go on Ebay unless anyone here wants them. I will try to find a link later.

Slightly (but not so much) off topic again -Does anywhere except clarks and startrite do childrens shoe fitting? P is getting loads more confident and I want to be able to take her outside for a walk but her feet are too diddy for regular walking shoes -Clarks and Startrite start at a 3 and she is a 2.

Sorry for rambles. Have had a drink.

Whelk · 01/08/2010 20:35

Thanks for the tips notyummy. I was really pleased how the run went. I finished in 1 hour exactly and really enjoyed it. Enjoying the white wine, chocolate and foot rub from dh as I unwind!

Everythingiseverything - I feel so much for you. You are obviously so bright, warm, funny and beautiful and your dh sounds so frustrating. I don't know how long you can keep trying when the other one isn't.

Mrsjuan - Headwear at weddings is a very fine line imo. I would go for something more along the lines of eie's cocktail hat rather than a typical 'fascinator'

PlumSykes · 01/08/2010 20:41

MrsJ, lovely rdess, I'd give a hair thingy a miss. Dress is crying out for fab earrings, which would not mix well with hair flower/clip/thing.

For your DD, I can't recommend Pedipeds highly enough. They are the most perfect 1st shoes, such soft soles, but water proof enough for outside wear. My DD had only Pedipeds until she was about 2 1/2, I loved them-much better for their little feet than the hard soles of normal shoes-they let their feet flex just like walking barefoot. Lots of places in UK sell them, but US site gives you printable sizing chart, and all the styles to look. at. My DS is nearly ready for his 1st pair!

mrsjuan · 01/08/2010 20:55

plum ooh - earrings, yes. I think they would be more fun to look for than hair clips. I will see if I can find a pedipeds place somewhere nearby - they look very cute and have flowers on which seems to be DD's top priority at the moment.

whelk don't think I could carry off a full on hat (unlike everything who looked effortlessly fantastic).
1 hour for a 10k is excellent - well done!

My friend started teaching me to horseride the other day - it is the best thing I have ever done for my inner thighs (in that they are still aching 3 days later). I have got images of myself galloping along a beach at sunrise which may be a tad unrealistic at the moment

blossoming · 01/08/2010 21:07

Good for you whelk and mrsjuan. I love exercise. It gives me such a buzz.

Fairly quiet day here today. We went next door to my parents for an amazing Sunday lunch. Still feel full despite walking to the park and shredding!

Dh in a funny mood as I am off with the 2 dcs to Cardiff tomorrow - long drive. He can't come because of work and he is worried about us. He has suggested we go to tecniquest, a hands on science place in the afternoon whereas I was hoping for a scout round the shops!!

Need to pack for the urban landscape..

Hope everyone is well and you're all enjoying your Sundays, lazy or otherwise!

monkeysmama · 01/08/2010 21:20

Buona sera belle

I am sat in my beautiful almost finished house with a large glass of red wine waiting for me having just got home from a wonderful evening (& surprise dinner) at my sister's. MCSolaar singing to me from Spotify and hour before dp gets back from taking our godson to "Toy Story 3". Bubba in bed. On line shopping awaits

Am going to buy [[http://www.asos.com/Asos/Asos-Ava-Suede-Lace-Up-Wedge-Boot/Prod/pgeproduct.aspx?iid=1060987&cid=10 266&sh=0&pge=0&pgesize=20&sort=-1&clr=Grey these ] right now I think. Any (quick) thoughts?

I know quite a few of you have Ash 'trainers' (? what are they?) and wondered if you have the regular ones or wedge ones? I think I may go for a bronze pair. Presumably they go with pretty much everything atm in a sport luxe sense?

I am loving all the camel colours around as I have cultivated a camel based wardrobe over many years which I've always worried was a bit safe/dated/mature but is now fashionable! Dp was flicking through a few of my magazines earlier and said "wow, you're really fashionable aren't you? You were wearing all this stuff a year or two ago" . He then asked me if I smelt so not all good. Turns out I'd dried myself after shower with a towel that'd spent half a week post wash in the washing machine. Nice.

Do any of you have the asos magazine? I can't find my copy but have you seen the camel parka / coat about half way through? Any thoughts?

Would really appreciate your thoughts (last time I'll ask, promise) on this leather jacket. I want something that will look smart/casual and will make me feel together. Is this it?

That's it from me. I am going to close the curtains, switch up the music and have a little dance .

monkeysmama · 01/08/2010 21:21

boot link here

blossoming · 01/08/2010 21:41

Cool boots mm. Sorry can't open your jacket link.

monkeysmama · 01/08/2010 21:43

Would you wear this with these?

monkeysmama · 01/08/2010 21:48

Does this work? All Saints Post Commander jacket

DolceeBanana · 01/08/2010 22:34

Hi all

Hope you all have had good weekends...

Tired here...to the Harbour Festival, Bristol on Sat, out for dinner at friend's last night, and shopping in Bath today, so k-nackered.

Bought some wonderful nude peep toe heels in LKBennett...and snakeskin clutch. Plus fab simple grey sleeveless silk blouse to wear with slim black trews, and patent wide belt for cinching of waist...too lazy tired to link, sorry!

Plus, kids school shoes...aww!

Early to bed as swimming classes for 9 am tomorrow...night y'all!

DolceeBanana · 01/08/2010 22:41

Oh, MM, wouldn't wear that blouse with skinny bikers...wouldn't personally do denim/khaki combo ...really like the bikers btw...

Like the jacket too!

LetThemEatCake · 01/08/2010 23:34

MM if that jacket didn't make you feel 'together' then I don't know what would - it's fab.

I have Ash trainers, they're high tops - no wedge, just flat I don't quite like wedge trainers but I think there are one or two A&W ladies who have & like them..?

thanks all for good wishes on b'day party, all went well.

MrsJ you will look lovely in that dress, agree with Plum about earrings rather then clip!

hope all have had lovely weekends - am looking forward to getting back into full A&W swing next week

LetThemEatCake · 02/08/2010 07:24

last to post last night, first to post this morning - oh dear

MM - have dug out the ASOS mag and checked out the parka. Am just thinking aloud here so bear with me but from what I've seen of AW10 so far I think I don't so much like camel + utility, much much much prefer camel + classic tailoring. Have a feeling that I am going to unearth something marvellous at the store where we bought our leather skirts - meet you there?

traceybath · 02/08/2010 07:52

Good Morning.

Glad party went well LTEC - did you do it at home? If so you are very brave - I've only ever done them at village hall.

Right - today is swimming for DS1 who doesn't want to go - so thats going to be fun. DH helpfully says 'well don't take him if he doesn't want to go'. So I get to be the mean mummy saying 'I've paid for it - it will be fun - he's going'. Ho hum.

Fairly quiet week lined up which is rather nice. Want to sort out the children's clothes as there are loads they've grown out of.

MM - I think that jacket is lovely - are you near an All Saints to go and try lots on as I've found their sizing a bit odd.

Dolcee - sounds like you got some lovely things yesterday - any nearer finding a wedding outfit?

Does anyone get US vogue? There was a lovely spread on capes but they'd teamed them with circle below the knee skirts with knee hight boots - it was gorgeous. So now want a swirly stripey skirt for winter.

VB - I know what you mean about capes. I love the knitted one from the white co as it hangs well but know when I've tried on more tailored ones in the past they've looked a little odd on me. Was it MM who said about jazz hands?

LetThemEatCake · 02/08/2010 08:07

hi tracey! yes, party was at home - we did dd's first b'day in a park but I can't be a*sed with packing up the car etc so much prefer to do at home. we have a big back garden (lareg enough for the bouncy castle) and we have a trampoline, various slides, paddling pool etc so very easy to keep them entertained.

also would be nervous of transporting cake.

Plus, you know, I need access to my wardrobe. In case of the need for mid-party outfit changes ...

US Vogue spread sounds fab - will check it out

OllieWollieWoo · 02/08/2010 09:08

Hello! Just back home after a lovely holday to Norfolk! We all had a great time - such a beautiful area. Boys & DH loved the beaches esp looking for crabs, going on a steam railway and visiting a Dinosaur Park and I just loved having a holiday like the ones i had as a kid! Ate far too much (am a sucker for tea and cakes in lovely little cafes!) so Dukan starts tomorrow! I had 2 blissful hours shopping in Norwich (narrow brown belt from M&S - 5 pounds in the sale, jeans x 2 (boyfriend fit and skinny), a coral cardi and a grey sude clutchbag for wedding outfit) but just loved being back in English shops!

So whatdidimiss?????!!! Will catch up properly this evening.

Its DS1's birthday today so had the excitement of opening some of his presents on the ferry as we arrived back in Holland this morning! My sister had brought him the Vtech kiddie cameral yesterday so he is busy recording every minute of his bday! I now have to assemble a rocket ship cake/cupcakes and other party treats as invited 6 of his English friends over for a get-together this afternoon - what was I thinking???? Proper party is in a couple of weeks for his school friends but I wanted to do something today too! We will all head off to the local playground and come back for hotdogs and cake!

Hapy Birthday to your DD too LTEC!

hellsbelles · 02/08/2010 09:40

blast - lost a huge long post.

In summary, welcome back OWW, glad you had great hols. Cake - where did you get your gorgeous party dress? Tracey - I was also sobbing over Toy story 3 yesterday (with DS). MrsJ - I too vote earrings over headgear and agree with Plum on pedipeds (though you have to wade through quite a few 'bling' styles!

Why do I want cords? Is it very wrong? here. Also lusting after some victorian style boots too £££ but I'm sure there are cheap copies around.
