As the old one is nearly full!

All & any vaping chat welcome.

No question is too daft to ask. We've all been there at the start of vaping in the minefield that it is.

Only rule is: No Willy Waving!!

Should add I smoked for 20 years before giving up when I got pregnant so had stopped for 5 years before beginning to lapse. Never ever want to go back there.

That's enough willy-waving, how is everybody? Congratulations to the new vapers, sounds like you're all doing really well Flowers

Summerhouse, this is worth a read on nicotine.

Lovely end plenty

Thank you for the link. I reading and vaping and feeling good about it. So glad I am free from that horror each morning of having smoked a cigarette the night before and still smelling of it!

ditavonteesed · 07/11/2015 12:34

yay loads of new vapers doing well. I just realised I am 2 years and 3 months off the stinkies. I was on about 10 a day, may try and do the maths later on £££ and how many I have not smoked. I have been chain vaping the last few weeks while I do uni work, just keep it plugged in to the compputer and I get the occasional feeling if guilt but it soon passes.

I tried some proper sub ohm juices, 80vg/20pg and they have such lovely flavours in my local vape shop but they all make me cough so am back on the Liquid 50/50s at least its cheaper.

PlentyOfPubeGardens · 07/11/2015 14:55

It's one of these bell caps, Polter Grin. There are so many different bits for kayfun tanks it's like playing lego.

Well done dita that's fantastic! I make that ~8,200 fags not smoked! Flowers

I really like it Smile

I got it because I can make my own coils for it and the parts are designed to last (TPD prepping Wink). The one I have is a Kayfun Lite Plus (I think?) which is quite an old model - it only takes one coil and doesn't have massive airflow. It's perfect for old-fashioned, low power mouth-to-lung vaping. There are newer models that have bigger airflow, deeper juice channels and which take two coils, which are more suitable for those who like vaping at higher power / lung-inhaling.

You can't get pre-made coil heads for them though. You can get pre-made coils like these but they still need fitting with a tiny screwdriver which is the most fiddly part.

magimedi · 07/11/2015 20:15

Tiny screwdriver??

I remember you using a pair of tweezers! Grin

OP posts:
PlentyOfPubeGardens · 07/11/2015 20:23

Oh yes, ceramic tweezers are the business for actually making coils and squashing the loops together! This is the kayfun I have. If you look at the second image, the bit on the far right is the 'build deck' - you have to wrap the ends of the coil around those two tiny screws and then tighten it all up.

Ive just been pointed in this direction from another thread.

I have been vaping for over a year. I switched compleatly the day I got my firset kit which was an aspire starter kit. Eventually that wasnt enough so I upgraded and now I have an itaste pro (or thats what it says on the side anyway) with a kanger subtank mini.

Its good, I dont have to carry a spare battery anymore the charge lasts a good couple of days and it charges my phone in an emergancy. Im still getting itchy feet and looking at other kits though now its not my shiny new toy.

The problem is I still dont really know what Im doing. Ive only read the last page of this thread and discovered that I should be washing my tank. I have never done that, I just charge it every couple of days and replace the coils when they start to taste burnt.

Who do I wash the tank? And is there anything else I should be doing to look afer it?

BeezerBubble · 07/11/2015 20:47

I only wash tanks if I'm changing flavours, no need otherwise. I've got three or four tanks on the go all the time so I don't have to. Only upkeep I would suggest is keeping contacts on tank and battery clean so performance is optimised.

PlentyOfPubeGardens · 07/11/2015 20:48

Yay, welcome kimlo and congratulations on a year Flowers

Just take the tank apart and give it a good blast through under the hot tap every so often, then leave it to drain. It helps if you have a spare to use while it's drying off but nothing bad will happen if you use it while it's still wet.

I have down/upgrade in a desperate attempt to stop this annoying coughing which seems to have spread to all liquids now. I realised the liquids I bought from the vape shop coincide with when I bought the atlantis tank and started with a 0.5ohm coil. So I wondered if it is actual the sub ohming that's making me cough. I have ordered 1ohm coils for the atlantis and the eleaf tank I have as they are the highest they do and ordered myself a shiny nautilus mini. I was going to get the nautilus last time I went in the vape shop but the guy talked me out of it. Do you reckon that could fix the problem? Also the coils are a lot cheaper so it should pay for itself in no time.

yeh dropped to 3mg, the juices from the shop were 80/20 and I literally choke on them, gone back to liQuid ones 50/50 and they are better but still make me cough. Can't believe I didn't make the connection before, just googled it and it's a really common thing. I think the guy in the shop thinks I want to be cool and trendy, I just want a nice vape. Can you use the 80/20 juices in the nautilus?

I'm trying to find a decent menthol to vape. I've tried a few labelled menthol that are more sweet than minty. I want something that'll blast my lungs clear, not sweetness. I can't find anything, last stuff I tried made me want to puke and I chucked it straight out.

I could try that I suppose, although I might struggle a bit as my hands don't work too well.
