As the old one is nearly full!

All & any vaping chat welcome.

No question is too daft to ask. We've all been there at the start of vaping in the minefield that it is.

Only rule is: No Willy Waving!!

Well done, Talented.

The reason I stopped was chest infections - every time I got a cold it went straight to my chest & I'd be ill for at least 4 weeks.

Since quitting I've had a few colds (far fewer then when I smoked) & I haven't had a chest infection at all!

I know that I am addicted to nicotine but I am not worried by that - at my age (60) I don't care if I vape for the rest of my days.

As to using the vape a lot - don't forget that the nicotine from a vape is absorbed in far smaller quantities than puffing on a fag, so you are bound to vape more.

Are you going to do something special with the £180??

Well done nevergettime, verystressedmum and Total Flowers

I vape loads and find it very hard to care that I'm still addicted to nicotine. It's in the same category as caffeine now, for me.

nevergettime - All good for the first 10 days or so but since the weekend I feel a bit like I'm vaping fresh air and it's not taking the cravings away as well as it did.

Have you tried changing the coil? 10 days is around the lifespan of some of them.

nevergettime · 22/10/2015 14:37

Thanks Plenty, I think that was exactly what the problem was. I had been rinsing out my tanks and coils every couple of days to start with but then got out of the habit and just kept topping up with eliquid. On Tuesday evening I gave everything a good clean and replaced the coils, then sat for half an hour vaping solid and OMG it was soooo much better. Won't be making that mistake again !! Gone just over two weeks now with no stinkies and I feel great. Couple of blips with the cravings but not wanting to smoke, just absorb nicotine. Learning more each day about ecigs and vaping (and there seems t be a fair bit to pick up). My lungs feel cleaner and I smell so much better. Even more relaxed when I wake up in the mornings now - can at least get down to the kitchen and make a cuppa before reaching for the ecig anyway :)

nevergettime · 22/10/2015 14:53

Oh and well done to very and total as well. Total I second everything you have said in your last post. Vaping sure does rid us of a lot of demons. Anyone out there thinking about giving up smoking and vaping instead - just go for it !

nevergettime · 27/10/2015 12:53

OK, checking in as three weeks tomorrow with no smoking Smile. Total and Very are you still with me ??? It's been great with my Kanger evod's, not even tempted to smoke and finding vaping a far better experience. Have bit the bullet, though, and ordered one of those singing and dancing istick 20w thingies with a mini nautilus. Thinking if I'm going to stick at this long term I need something reliable that won't go flat on me half way through a day or night out - and can afford to treat myself with all the money I've saved now. Will need to set up when it arrives and haven't really got a clue Confused. Can anyone tell me where to start with watts, volts and ohms..... ? Oh and what ohm coils should I order for spares ?

Allergictoironing · 27/10/2015 20:31

Yay there's a new PROPER vape shop in Gravesend (my home town) - I used to have to face the centre of Maidstone until now. And it's a TJs who stock Zeus Juice, so I can get the lovely lemon meringue pie they do (even better than the Alchemist's cupboard one IMO).
Oh, before anyone reports me for advertising, please note that not only are these NOT my friends in the business, but in another town they are direct rivals! I'm just so happy that there's a really proper shop close to home Halloween Grin

I'm still with ya, never! Three weeks now.
DD had a sleepover and I let them take over the living room so they could watch the Harry Potter channel all night - now even though I never smoked in there, I wouldn't have allowed that before because the smell would have been drifting around. Now I don't need to worry!
What occurred to me today was that I haven't actually told anyone. I live rurally and don't see many adults - obviously DH knows and my local sister and BIL, but my London rellies have no idea. I haven't mentioned it on our Family FB chats. I suppose I thought it might be a fad, or I might fail.

I'm a Kent vaper too, although much further south. We have a Vapour Trail in town which so far has steered me right. I notice though that a new shop is being fitted out. However, it scares me as it's describing itself as 'Lifestyle' stuff and I think that might include legal highs etc. So I will stick with my helpful ladies at the Trail.
So: 777 fags not smoked, and approx £231 not spent. Not bad for a diehard.

magimedi · 28/10/2015 23:08

Well done, Total

Keep vaping!

I'm still here! I am now on day 25 no cigarettes!!! GrinShock
I'm loving Vaping. In still on 24% I feel fine on it I don't think I vape as much on that amount, when I was on 18% I had terrible cravings but I know I need to get it down eventually.

I don't feel the need for a cigarette at all, I find myself thinking 'I need a cigarette' but I need nicotine so I vape and it goes.

I don't know if I feel better or healthier yet. But I hoping that I'm doing some good inside my body.

I honestly don't think I will smoke again. I don't want to. And I don't want to die!! So I'm going to keep on Vaping.

magimedi · 31/10/2015 08:29

Well done!!

Don't worry about being on 24% - you've done nearly a month with no fags.

You will start to feel you have far more 'puff'. My lung function went on improving for about 18 months (now 3 years since I had a fag). I can't believe the hills I can walk up without having to stop & without wheezing! And my swimming has gone from struggling to do 10 lengths to being able to do 1K of front crawl. And I have droppe da dress size, due to exercise, I reckon.

None of the above is a boast (well, not much!) but to encourage you.

Well done verystressed.
I had arguments with both teenagers yesterday evening so was mega-stressed, could have easily gone to find the cigs I still have in the house. It didn't even occur to me. I went for the vape big-time though!

See you mid-week when I check in for my 4 weeks!

nevergettime · 31/10/2015 17:44

Great stuff Very Flowers. I know exactly what you mean. Have to say my lungs feel better already - no more morning coughing and spluttering.
My new istick is "amazing" and stays charged for ages. If I vape on it too often though it feels like I've OD'd a bit on the nicotine, It's that good. So have ordered some lower strength e liquid for it, hope I'm doing the right thing.

nevergettime · 31/10/2015 18:02

Oh and Flowers for Total too - Keep Vaping Smile. Will also check in mid-week.

Thank you Smile and congrats to total, I'm 4 weeks on Tuesday.
And well done poulter, 18 months is just fab I can't wait until I'm there.

I was at a Halloween party last night and I would have been the only smoker there, it felt really good to not have to go outside and smoke and come back in stinking, as well as all the palaver of no ashtrays...
I did vape a little bit, I went into the utility room twice and had a few puffs but I didn't really need to do more than that.

I've been saving my cigarette money, though when I look at my account I can't always afford to! But when I smoked I always spent the money regardless, so I make sure I save it. By Christmas I'll have about £400 extra to spend.
And I still feel like I haven't 'given up' as vaping feels so much like smoking.

It does cross my mind every now and then that I hope it's safe and they don't find out in 10 years time it's really harmful and I'm going die!! ConfusedHmmGrin

TotalConfucius · 04/11/2015 19:45

Hi all
My 4 WEEK CHECK-IN!
Health: much better
Wealth: much better
House smell: mmmm, nice
Car smell: like a car
Clothes smell: Tesco fabric softener
DH and DC: very proud of me.
What have I missed?!?

I could've run for the Sterling this week though. DD (13) left on a residential to Normandy on Saturday. Due back next Friday. The principal rang yesterday morning to say that 20 out of 28 students had vomitting bug and they were closely monitoring them. What a day of worry! DD is already borderline too low BMI so the thought of her not eating was...stressful, to say the least. Anyway, she's ok, fully recovered according to her. There will be questions when they get home though! Poor teachers, dealing with 20 vomitty kids! I didn't run for the Sterling though I felt I was surgically attached to the vaper!

How's everyone doing?

Amazingly well done, Total.

I reckon you've cracked it - especially not going for the stinkys in a moment of crisis.

Hope your DD is OK now.

Have to say the only time I wish I still smopked is when dealing with vomit - a fag in the gob didn't half take the whiff away!! But, in three years & some vomit I haven't given in.

I'm still with you too Smile
One month tomorrow and can't believe how easy it's been ! Luckily I haven't had any major stresses so maybe that's helped. Even starting to find that I'm not that bothered when I can't vape. Just feeling so positive that I am cracking this and will not want to go back to the stinkys ever again Grin

magimedi · 05/11/2015 13:32

And well done to nevergettime.

Brilliant - so pleased you are enjoying vaping.

SummerHouse · 05/11/2015 19:39

Can anyone reassure me? Dp smoked up until 2 months ago when he started vaping. I was having a few drags on his cigarette every week or so and this built to a few nights a week. Since the change I have been vaping but every night. Feel like this is better but worse if you see what I mean. Is the nicotine alone really bad. We are on lowest strength but I can go some on it. I am doing ok right?
