As the old one is nearly full!

All & any vaping chat welcome.

No question is too daft to ask. We've all been there at the start of vaping in the minefield that it is.

Only rule is: No Willy Waving!!

Crisp what juices did you try? Any worth investing in?

ditavonteesed · 12/08/2015 19:52

mimi thats nearly exactly the same as my set yup, I even have the same drip tip, I have the atlantis though not the nautilus, I havent looked back. I tried my vison spinner last night and it was just not the same. I have ordered some purple glass and a bunny drip tip from fast tech so excited for when they come.

I was having trouble with flavours as none tasted nive anymore, I bought a really strong minty, mentholly, tcpy juice and now everything tastes lovely again, thats odd isnt it?

Mimigolightly · 12/08/2015 19:59

Dita my juices all taste different too! Polter says that this can happen though. I love the huge clouds though Grin
I've been finding juice in my drip tip - is this normal? I am always very careful when I put my juice in though. What's happening?

PlentyOfPubeGardens · 12/08/2015 20:40

Yes that's 'vaper's tongue' - everything tastes a bit bleh or nothingy until you shock your taste buds back to normal.

Mimi, a little juice in the drip tip is normal, it just condenses there a bit because it's a relatively cool surface. Just mop it out with a cotton bud or a twist of kitchen roll if it gets troublesome.

Hello vapers. I've been lurking on this thread for a while and seeing the advice I bought a Nautilus Aspire mini and a Kangertech battery.
I have a serious problem tho - when I vape, I find tiny particles in my mouth, like tiny tiny bits of chewing gum. They are going into my throat and it has put me off using it. I tried cleaning it and changed the coil but still the same. Does anybody know what this is?
tia

I cleaned the glass and mouth piece and changed the coil
I had the original coil in for about 3 days but only vaped on 4 occasions as I was still smoking cigs.
I am using liquid bought from VapeHQ.
It says 'pure' on the box. One is supposedly organic 'pure blacklabel' and is 50/50 propelyene glycol and vegetable glycerin.
The others are 60/40

I bought some spare coils so I might ry changing it again.
I'm just trying it now and it doesn't seem as bad if I vape at a lower wattage but I don't get much vapour. I was using it at 7.

Thanks anyway PolterGoose

I'm popping over thanks to magimedi and her invitation on my desperation thread.
(Can't link to it because I don't know how)

I've been given up smoking for about 5 years and I'm in my late 40's.I smoked for about 30 years -save a period of 4 years where I gave up (and dieted at the same time,so lost weight too) back in my early 20's,and for my pregnancies.

This was hard giving up,but I did it.

However I replaced smoking for eating, and its spiralled out of control.I've gone from a sporty, normal weight smoker who loved exercise to an overweight person who is really not able to exercise at the level I did before because of the extra weight on my joints and being outof puff. The weight has steadily gone on since I gave up,and I've tried pretty much everything to tackle it.

In desperation I've decided it might be better to resort to smoking again.I feel miserable fat,and honestly am starting to feel the beginnings of worse health issues relating to over eating than ever I did when I was an exercising smoker.

However magi has suggested that since I know smoking helps me,as an individual, curb my eating, and I seem to be hellbent on that route,I think about trying vaping instead.

Could this be worth a try for me,and whats it all about?

This is Faggy's desparation thread:

Do you have a local independent vaping shop? If so, get down there & ask them for a starter kit. They will be able to show you how it all works & probably let you try some juices to see which flavour you like.

If not, you want to look for a kit on line. I've used this lot before & there starter kit is OK

www.ecigwizard.com/electronic-cigarette-starter-kits/standardbundle.html

Vaping will almost certainly make you cough the first time you take a hit, they 'smoke' differently to a cig & you need to puff far more gently.

Most people who smoke 20 a day start with 18mg strength liquid, but if you smoke less you may be OK with 12mg. No harm in starting with 18 & then dropping back.

This link is from my local vape shop & is quite a good explanation of vaping & kit:

Hope this helps - come back with any other questions, no question is too silly to ask!

With vaping you still get the nicotine & the hand-to-mouth part of smoking.

You will find that you may get a dry mouth - just drink more water, which is great for your diet, anyhow.

I'm off to Brighton tomorrow and will definitely be visiting a few of the lovely Vape shops down there. So looking forward to sampling some nice, new juices.

That's my favourite shop, Magi. We went in there last time we were there, had a good look on all floors and spent a lovely hour sitting in the sunshine on their roof terrace with a shisha!

GeneandFred · 22/08/2015 00:37

Hello All, Newbie here to Mumsnet and vaping!! So myself and DH made decision to quit the fans on Monday and bought our first e cigs on Tuesday.... All going well so far. Haven't had a cig since Tues morning (doesn't seem like a huge amount of time but for us it's a milestone already) I got istick 30 Watts and a mini nautilis and I blooming love it!!! Not had any cravings for a ciggies yet, but I'm sure they will come soon enough! Currently loving red astaire it's delish. Grin

magimedi · 22/08/2015 08:16

Well done to you & your DH!

If you haven't had a fag craving you may well not get one as you are getting the nicotine.

If you do & have a fag, don't despair, just count the ones you haven't smoked!

Has anyone tried the Aspire Atlantis 2 tank? I got jealous of all the clouds being made in the vape shop at the weekend by the lovely assistants and all their cool mods.
