Oh and yes there was a good range of gins and also single malts (which would have kept DH happy) but we didn't partake because we were feeling nervous and didn't want to drink too fast. The lager was lager, DH said his ale was nice and well kept.

When I upgraded (ha!) to the evod and twist I never thought I'd be here a year later sitting with tweezers and screwdrivers making my own coils! I loveeee the subtank.

And your friend is nuts with the "best thing ever", I would have cringed and hidden my face with my hands!

I am relatively new to this vaping malarkey. Stopped smoking for 2 years while upduffed and bfing 24/7 but treated myself to 'just the one' fag at Christmas and ended up smoking properly again. Then 9 weeks ago dp had a heart attack so that was the wake up call for both of us.

Kitted us out with an ileaf and airtank atomiser is it? And we luffs them. We vaped a bit a few years ago and dp did while I was pregnant but with cheap market kits that were rubbish.

Can't believe the difference with the ileaf. Bought them based on recommendations from threads on here. My one broke on holiday so bought a vision spinner and it just wasn't the same so bought another ileaf as soon as we were back.

I am currently vaping a concoction that tastes like benelyn from local vape shop and dp won't entertain anything other than fag flavours. But I tries Ry4 the other day and I luffs it. Hopefully I will get back up to vape shop this week at some point and buy a billionty bottles of it.

Anyway just thought I would say hello.

I have since name changed but started vaping last Nov after seeing a starter kit in a newsagent. I had a load of support from you guys - thanks, you really helped explain things as its a bit confusing to start with. I had a wobble when my chain smoking mother came to stay and smoked a gazillion fags- yuck, more out of habit than anything. This was the moment my kit started to mess about - I lost one kit, batteries died and my atomisers went phutt. I very nearly went back to fags but cancer risk and cost kept me vaping.

In my city 3 vaping shops have opened, I went Saturday and they were so helpful. They cleaned my kit, set it up right and sold me some fab liquids and clearos. I now love vaping again. I had been buying my liquid in a cheapy shop that sell loads of imported plastic tat- my vapes always tasted burnt, even after buying a new clearo- the shop denied it was their cheapy liquid but I now def believe you get what you pay for- so lesson learnt there!!

I have also dropped my % from 18 to 8% and do hope to give up totally at some point. Thanks guys for all your support and advice I couldn't have done it without by you. Love vaping.

Hi all, Day 70 for me have built up a nice little collection and happily vaping away.

Schro, tweezers and screwdrivers are the future! If it tastes a bit burny you probably have either slightly too much or slightly too little wick. Too little and it can't suck up enough juice for the coil. Too much and the juice can't get through because it's wodged too tight in the coil.

bimandbam, welcome. I'm sorry to hear about your DH. Is he recovering well? I like RY4 too but find it a bit sweet on its own, I mix it 50/50 with RY6 which is a much drier tobacco flavour.

blessed, sounds like it's going really well! Unfortunately you don't always get what you pay for in the world of vaping, especially with liquids. The basic ingredients are so cheap that the differences in price are mostly random mark-ups - i.e. companies charging what they think they can get away with. Nicotine is nicotine, there will be varying amounts of VG and PG (but these are medicinally standardised products, there's no difference here between brands). The biggest difference is the flavourings. Some juice makers are very skilled at creating unique and delicious flavours and it's worth paying a bit extra for that, but nothing should taste burnt.

Plenty I will give it another go tomorrow, I tried varying amounts of wick but will try it again, the first time I tried it it tasted amazing for about 6 puffs then tasted burnt, since then every time I have tried it has been burnt right from the first draw. :( Also, how many loops would you do on a coil? I think there was 5 on the ones that were supplied with the tank, but see that a lot of people in videos do 7.

I am completely out of juice! Roll on tomorrow! Know of any juices that are must trys? We have several vape shops selling the imported stuff and I'm slowly (and very bloody expensively) making my way through the lot!

how many loops would you do on a coil?

It depends on what resistance you're aiming for and what gauge wire you are using.

More turns makes the resistance higher but thicker wire makes the resistance lower. So few turns with thin wire can give the same resistance as more turns of thicker wire. More turns of thick wire will give more vapour because it has a larger surface area but it will also take slightly longer to heat up. Lower resistance coils are better made with more turns of thicker wire because otherwise you'd have barely any hot surface to heat the liquid.

I make 7 turn microcoils (coils squashed together) with 0.25 gauge kanthal, on a 2mm screwdriver. This gives me about 1.7 ohms on my kayfun or in a gs-h2. If you are using a subtank it has much bigger air flow and juice channels so it will work best with a lower resistance - I'd aim for around 1 ohm.

There's a very complicated calculator here for working out how many wraps to do. I just use trial and error and check the resistance before putting the wick in.

The coils I am using at the moment are 0.5 so will be aiming to stick to as close to that as possible.

Have bought L'ange Guardien by Bord02 and it's really lovely, tastes like what Cosmic Fog's The Shocker is supposed to taste like.

0.5 is very low unless you like lung-inhaling. If it tastes burnt there's no harm in aiming for a higher resistance.

I get my wire from stealthvape, they are reasonably priced and deliver very fast. Also they send free muji cotton with any order.

Yes, lung inhaler here. :) Haven't had a problem with the pre-made coils tasting burnt at all, just my own ruddy ones! :o

well after much deliberation I have upgraded, just ordered a cool fire IV and this clearo, I bought one of themfrom the vaping shop last week and I love it although the coil has gone already. The guy was trying to suggest I get a subtank but I can't bring myslef to pay that sort of money for a clearo and it isn't even pretty. I reckon it should come tommorow.
Looking at liquids but I ended up just getting a job lot from liQuid again, I am really liking their liquids and hey are so cheap.
So does that make me a proper vaper now then after 2 years with my trusty vision spinner? Hoping I wont be dissapointed.

I have lots of those little aspires from before I got the genitank, they were nice but the little glass windows break really easily and for some reason I went though loads of coils, the base had a tendency to get stuck on my batteries all the time too.

Really recommend the subtank, well worth the money for the flavour and you could add different drip tips to make it pretty.

please tell me where you got that drip tip from I simply must have it. I saw different coloured bands for the sub tank, cant remember where though.

Can I join please? I have an EVod kit that I've made work and am desperate to give up. Have awful asthma and my fat cat needs two operations, which are even more expensive than fags.

What drip tip, the bunny or the multi colour one? In my local vape shop you can buy different coloured glass for the subtank too, including pink. I'll be buying it next week. I have black bands for the sub too.

Schro, that is very pretty with the drip tips! I wish I got on with lung inhales as all the new kit seems to be headed in that direction. Polter very kindly sent me a subtank but I didn't get on with it at all, it was far too airy for a mouth-to-lunger.

Northumberlandlass, if you can post a picture of your kit someone will probably recognise it and be able to offer some help.

Thank you. I love being able to change the drip tips and the bunny is my favourite as the metal ones are too hot on the sub, I'm going to buy pink glass for it next week and switch over to black rings and put some crystals on my Istick.

You are right about mouth-to-lung, before I got this that was me, I very quickly had to change but now I wouldn't go back from lung hits, so much more satisfying for me!

On another note, I went in to a vape shop yesterday to get juice and may have possibly put myself forward for a job! They said during casual convo that they usually throw CVs out if anyone hands them in but they would keep mines as it would be worth getting and that it was a "breath of fresh air" having someone come in that knew what they were talking about! :o I'm all chuffed with that!

Currently swapping juices between Strawberry Whip by Element and Boss Reserve by Cuttwood, loving the latter strangely.

My new shiny, on a weirder note I finally dmitted to my dc that I vape so I don't have to hide it anymore. this is a massive relief to me, I told them I used to smoke and it isn't good for you (they know this they are 9 and 11) and that I vape to stop which isn't brilliant but is better than smoking, they said they already knew, haha.

Ohh! I am liking that! If I got a job I would share the love! :o. However I am back at college in Sept studying for an HND (foundation degree in England) and probably wont have much time as also have 2 under 4!

Hi all, I was posting in here about a year ago for advice on vaping. Never thought I would end up a manageress of a vape shop best job in the world! The advice I got from mums net was fantastic

I now make my own ejuice, build my own coils and vape myself half to death with my smok m22 and naut mini. I was a lung hitter too with m80 and Atlantis 2 but ended up preferring mouth to lung.

I am in love with dreamsicle from mr good vape, best orange cream I've tasted and breaking vap from bordO2!

There's not a lot of wiggle-room but they are seeking views on a few points where they have some flexibility. It's a confusing document with lots of legalese. Blaze over on UKVapers has uploaded a guide to Dropbox here and is happy for it to be shared.
