Hi, posting newbie questions on behalf of dH. Firstly-do some juices contain aspartame-and do they have the same, ahem, effects as if you eat it? (He's noticed a bit of urgency iyswim)
And (being a bloke and all ) he is only using tobacco flavours and menthol. Which do you lot recommend? (He's just got an entry level spinner 2, but he's happy enough with it)

I've never come across any liquid with aspartame - I'd know because I'm pretty intolerant to it myself and would notice.

There should only be 4 ingredients in liquids - PG, VG, nicotine and flavourings. I suppose some flavourings MIGHT have aspartame in them, but I doubt that; I think you just need to be careful about which you buy.

My brother is obviously also a bloke, and he's just moved on from cherry/cherry menthol to coffee flavours and a couple of dessert flavours (including a coffee type dessert . I was talking to some serious cloud chasers the other day & they were all into desserts as well. Best bet would be to get him into a really decent vape shop so he can try a few different types.

I need some help on e-liquids. I really like Mother's Milk with the PG/VG ratio. Can anyone recommend any others that are similar?

What is this lung inhaling and mouth/lung inhaling?

Am also starting to worry that TPD is less than a year away now. Have never developed shinyitis so am still using a basic battery and tank. What kit do I need to get? And what about juice supplies?

I think it's gone a bit quuiet as anyone who is thinking of quitting looks over here & all the info is here from a quick search.

And it's summer - everyone goes quiet in the summer, apart from silly trolls & fictional posts, which the rest of MN seems to be infested with.

Or in my case, gone quiet due to the new job which is knackering me out - 11 hours overtime already this week, and a likelihood of Saturday as well if I can bear it

Heh no way, can't take the time standing needed for retail. Document controller for an engineering consultancy.

At least no overtime tonight, but I do have as much overtime as I can cope with tomorrow.

And no vaping in the building, I have to go out to the smoking area at the set smoking times. But that's not too bad really, as I've made some good friends out there

Similar for me. The social aspect is great, and of course I get a break away from my desk that I can count down to on bad days.

I do actually enjoy the smell of fresh smoke without it tempting me at all, though the smell of the guy in the office next to mine is unpleasantly stale tobacco smoke which I'm disliking a fair bit.

I can't stand the smell of smoke now. Every other time I've quit without vaping, I have loved the smell.

My sense of smell has become so sensitive now - I am still amazed by it.

How do I know when it's time to change the coil? Is it when I get a burning taste? I use a Nautilus Mini like a lot of you lovely Vipers.

Also got a couple of new juices today: Ménage a trois by Ruthless and Angel Berry by Red Vape.

Oh goodness ménage a trois is fabulous! I use it sparingly as a special treat, and the whole room spells good afterwards

Mimi, I don't use a Nautilus but I've heard the coils last a long time, compared to others. It needs changing if it starts tasting burnt, or if you're just not getting much flavour or vapour any more.

I'm still very happy on my RY4/RY6 blend but DH has fallen in love with a new juice - Jam Toast from MyVapery. The French Toast (mild cinnamon) is also fairly yummy, he says.

What is not allowed to be sold in the EU under the TPD - see picture.

The last point - 'nothing that has been advertised ...' is not quite right. Advertising may be banned but it won't affect products which have been advertised in the past. It will affect EU vaping forums, youtube channels etc. which rely on vape advertising to survive.

What you can do to prepare: There are basically three approaches -

1. Just buy the same as you do now, but direct from China. Not sure if it will be illegal to buy from outside the EU. China doesn't care anyway, the worst that will happen for you is that your package gets seized.

2. Stock up on lots of everything you like now that might be difficult to get after 2016. Get a few spare tanks and batteries, stacks of coils and litres of juice.

3. Learn to build coils, learn to DIY juice (and stock up on nicotine for your freezer), get a few mechanical mods and make friends with anybody you know who runs a metal workshop. They can't ban cotton wool, glycerine, food flavourings, kanthal wire, torch batteries ...

It's still uncertain whether the TPD will ever become law in the UK. TW's challenge may go through in time and win (if you haven't yet, please add your support here) or we may exit EU altogether before it's implemented. There is nothing to stop the UK government coming up with its own legislation which might be better, or worse.

Don't think I do lung inhales. I'm more mouth/tiny bit of lung, a bit like a new trying to be cool smoker.
