As the old one is nearly full!

All & any vaping chat welcome.

No question is too daft to ask. We've all been there at the start of vaping in the minefield that it is.

Only rule is: No Willy Waving!!

A thought! At work there is a smoking area outside, and I have been going out there on my breaks to vape. However, I really don't like the smell of fags any more and (I know this is hilarious!) I hate smelling of second hand smoke now. I'm starting to feel that it's a bit unfair for vapers to be compelled to stand with the smokers. How do you all cope with this sort of thing?

It's like having to stand outside pubs etc.

Is it the only place you're allowed to vape crisp, or can you go elsewhere outside? If it's the only place, not only is it unfair, it's a court case waiting to happen.

Where I work there are three of us vapers and we can vape indoors. We're a tiny MH charity and have a huge number of smoking clients. I have an enlightened boss who hopes my vaping might rub off on others Smile Sometimes I go out with the smokers anyway just for the blather but it's important not to be forced into standing in a smoking area. What if you had quit because you had COPD?

[NAUGHT WARNING!!!]
I have vaped in all sorts of places where I'm not sure I was allowed to. Go on youtube and search 'how to stealth vape' and then practice some techniques in front of a mirror. Nobody knows, nobody cares, nobody dies Wink

Also, nobody will know if you vape in the loos.

magimedi · 10/04/2015 19:53

And you can vape in loos on planes.

Have done it - no problemo!

Went to the doctors this am (sore ear, all sorted) & notice on door said No smoking, but no has a bit tacked on it saying that this includes the use of any electronic cigarette.

Have just been sitting here with my Eleaf & following the rules for stealth vaping - it works!!

crispandfruity · 11/04/2015 11:03

Yes, it's the only place. Due to security issues and stuff it's impossible to go off site. I might try it in the toilets.

I have been naughty and vaped in 3 different pubs! In one of them I actually stood at the bar and vaped - I had had a few glasses of wine though and was feeling brave!!

PlentyOfPubeGardens · 11/04/2015 19:23

Oh that's not really on, crisp. You have as much right to protection from second hand smoke as any other non-smoker. Some would argue that you don't have to vape if you don't want to go to the smoking area, however sooner or later one or more ecigs will get a medicinal licence - this has been 'imminent' for about a year now. When that happens some employers are likely to be caught in the position of sending people to the smoking area to take their prescribed medication. Not good and a legal minefield.

Depending on what your management are like you could either:

a) take in some literature (this is good) and have a civilised chat about perhaps making an indoor or outdoor space available for vaping

b) just vape in the loos and stealth when no-one's looking

Boutonneux · 11/04/2015 22:14

I have a (possibly daft) question.

When using different flavours do I /should I wash the tank when changing flavour? Is there any particular or special way of doing this?

I got told off in a pub tonight for vaping, as I left I blew some big clouds!! The smokers coming in and out of the beer garden really stank. I sat at a table by the door and was very discreet. It is bad science that's behind people being scared of vaping. I'm feeling a bit militant ((( have had wine!!)))

Boutonneux · 11/04/2015 23:31

Cheers Polter Grin

I think I need more tanks! Going to find those ones that Plenty recommends, I've seen them on a thread recently.

Got 3 Aspire e-pens today (only £2.00 each) and have a rather lovely custard in one right now (enjoying it much more than I expected to!) and a friend has recommended a fruit salad one from Witch ("you'll never use another flavour again" apparently... that's a big claim!). Who knew vaping could be so much fun? Grin

crispandfruity · 12/04/2015 17:06

I need more tanks too. I haven't had a vape delivery since wednesday so I think I'm overdue more shiny stuff!!

Since stopping smoking 6 weeks ago AFTER my shiny purchases are deducted I'm £300 up!!!

And I haven't smoked in the region of 900 fags. And I haven't murdered anyone or been grumpy (unlike on other quit attempts!!) Apart from when the bouncer in the pub last night told me that I wasn't allowed to vape inside ;)

I have to say that without this thread/forum I probably would have given up when my first 650 battery ran out of charge. And to think I've now got a swanky eleaf and posh juices from that america!

Boutonneux · 12/04/2015 18:50

That's fantastic crisp, to be still so much 'up' despite all your purchases Grin

Allergictoironing · 15/04/2015 17:51

Quick question - where's the best/cheapest place to get replacement coils for the lovely Mini Nautilus?

Hi all have just been to jungle vape and bought my a starter kit. I tried vaping before but don't think I was doing it properly and quickly gave up.

Got lots of advice at the shop so I'm finishing my duty free cigs and trying to introduce vaping any tips on how to gradually reduce the cigs?

Thanks PolterGoose, i'm going to try and reduce as many cigs as possible.

Feel silly asking but is it possible to vape too much? I'm trying to figure out how much I should be using
Grin

A couple of tips for cutting down while vaping that work for a fair number of people...

Firstly for every pack of cigs you DON'T buy, put the money into a jar so you can see it mount up over time. Promise yourself that when you reach a certain financial target you can spend it on a luxury for yourself (shoes, dinner, night out etc).

Second tip is to keep your e-cig close to you at all times, and keep the cigarettes in a room you very rarely spend any time in. That way rather than just lighting up if you fancy a fag you need to think about it, then get up & go into the other room (and possibly even upstairs) - whereas it is much easier to just use the e-cig that's to hand right away. This can also mean that by the time you've got up & started to move, you've had a chance to talk yourself out of that stinky fag Grin.

McNo · 17/04/2015 07:08

Thanks Allergic I will try that, have woken up with a sore throat and cold so will try to vape more than I smoke Grin

Allergictoironing · 17/04/2015 08:01

Just remember - little and often. Rather than vaping solidly for 5-10 mins then a gap for an hour or so, like you would with a fag, 2-3 draws every few minutes. That will help with the sore throat too - get better soon!
