I was given an egg by a man this morning Wink Totally unexpected - it was someone who phones up where I work all the time but I'd never met him, bless him. Really made me Smile

NotActuallyAMum · 18/04/2006 14:32

Just had a text off my sister:

Why do little boys whinge and whine?

Because they're training to be men

Grin
tarantuless · 18/04/2006 14:42

ahhh isnt that nice. Love when things like that happen.

Grin at the joke. Have to remember taht one.

Squirrel3 · 18/04/2006 20:12

Chocolate, champagne and oysters, could do with loads of that! Grin

Had the same trouble finding Easter eggs BTW.

What a weekend! Dp's parents really hate me, I don't know why, apparently they think I am 'sponging' off dp, I won't go into details but we had a bit of a row over the weekend because dp decided to buy me a tumble dryer because I am working longer hours and I'm having trouble keeping up with the washing and drying and they objected to him buying it for me (after all I never do any of his washing, drying and ironing Angry).

Dp's mum (before the row) thought that it was ok for her dog to chew on my brand new boots, I asked dp to stop the dog, his mum thought I was out of order because "It only wanted a nibble"! The same aas the blooming thing only wanted a nibble of dsd's coat and arm, dsd was screaming but MIL said "well she will play with the dog, what does she expect?" I am very surprised that BM hasn't been on the phone going mad and I wouldn't blame her, I had to make dp go and rescue her! Poor dsd has got bruises all over her arm!

Then I got my first my first slating on MN, I thought it was quite amusing really, thanks for backing me up BTW.

I tripped over the cat and sprained my ankle, in front of everyone (we had the whole of dp's family around for dinner Sunday), I had the mint sauce in my hand and as I fell the sauce went all over my beautifully laid table (which I had spent ages on, you know the best tablecloth cutlery etc).... and I had to grin and bear the pain and humiliation of it all because everyone was there (and the atmosphere was rather tense because of the dog and the tumble dryer incidents).......

It’s ok, you can ROFL, and I’m seeing the funny side of it as I am typing! Grin Wink

Actually pmsl, it could only happen to me! Smile

Oh Squirrel, what a weekend!! We had a strange one, about to leave to go away and car broke down (again) then have had to listen all weekend to "he's only 10" dh's excuse for dss to do whatever he wants while overhearing dh tell 14 mth old dd that dhe'd just have to cry as he had things to do. GRRRRRRRR Angry How i love the 2 rules for the 2 kids!!!!!!!!! Now he's stropped off as I dared mention it and I'm moaning here Another beautiful end to a beautiful day in the world of a SM!!!!!!![grin}

Squirrel3 · 19/04/2006 05:59

I can relate to the one rule for them and a different one for others, it happens far to often in my household! Angry

I can also relate to the car breaking down (well kind of), my son bought a car a couple of months ago and he has been really pleased with it - but somebody decided to 'slash' one of the tyres yesterday evening. Ds went to change the wheel, then realised that the wheels have security nuts on them but the car didn't come with the 'Key socket' to get them off! I really don't know what he is going to do, its not like he can drive it to the garage with a completely flat tyre.

He does have RAC cover but it doesn't cover home start, I wonder if they would look at it if he was to very slowly drive it around the corner, then call them? Mmmmmmm, I wonder??????.........

Ooohhh squirrel - I'd have at least kicked the bloody cat Grin Can't believe your MIL thinks you're sponging off your DP, wonder if she knows who pays all the bills?? Somehow I doubt it

claire I'd do the same back to him with your dd - "but she's only a toddler". Don't suppose that solves the problem though does it? MEN!!!! GRRRRRRR!!!!!!!!

squirrel I'd be tempted to get the car away from your house too - the tyre is ruined anyway. I assume you've already thought of this but can he not get in touch with the people he had the car from to see if they still have the key?

NotActuallyAMum · 20/04/2006 15:47
