My DP can be a bit like that too sometimes - if I want to talk about something he just goes quiet for a few minutes then changes the subject! I love him to bits but when he does this I could cheerfully slap him!!!

Why can't men be as wonderful as us women eh???

lol at the boxing gloves Squirrel

Squirrel3 · 08/02/2006 13:12

I was sent an email from my catalogue (the only place I can find decent bras to fit me) and I was shocked to find it was an 'adult' email and they sell... erm ... 'toys' etc as well as clothes and underwear....

Guess what I bought for dp and I for valentines night!!!

Hi everyone, I am a rubbish member of this club as I hardly manage to get on for a chat! Good to see everyone is a daft as a brush as ever on here!

Beautiful spring day here in bonnie scotland - probably snow tomorrow.... I am slightly amused by the talk of what you are all doing for Valentines Day, and get the feeling we are totally unromatic (well dh anyway!) We have had 7 valentines days and I have never, quote "NEVER" received anything from him on Valentines Day (except one year he did get me a new washing line ) Soooo this year I want to do something special, can't be that special because of money but like the idea of candlelit dinner, some wine and see where that leads to Although he does have football training on wed nights so doesn't get in till nine so maybe that won't work.

Does anyone else have an unromantic sod like me?

NotActuallyAMum · 08/02/2006 13:16

Sounds like a good idea to me Squirrel

At least you're not wondering what to buy him any more

NotActuallyAMum · 08/02/2006 13:19

Hello bm3sm2

bm3sm2 · 08/02/2006 13:22

ooopss naaam thanks for letting me know, how embarrassing would that have been

dh has a very warped sense of humour he is the life and soul of the party and everybody thinks hes great, sometimes I don't agree

Squirrel3 · 08/02/2006 13:23

A washing line????

I'd have strangled him with it!!!!!

OP posts:
NotActuallyAMum · 08/02/2006 13:26

lol bm3sm2

We went out last year for valentines day because it was our first one together (been together just over 19 months) but I'm really not bothered about actually going out again - we can have just as good a time at home, probably better even

NotActuallyAMum · 08/02/2006 13:26

Agree Squirrel

Squirrel3 · 08/02/2006 13:30

My dp has a 'strange' sense of humor too! He does things like when we are in the supermarket he will start to sing at the top of his voice and when people look around he will grab me and start to dance with me still singing very loudly. He is so embarassing!

And I am so quiet and reserved!

tarantula · 08/02/2006 13:32

a washing line??????????Blimey and thought dp ws bad. Dp's excuse is that he hates all this commercial crap and doesnt see why Valentines day should be different from any other day. I listened and conceded he had a point and asked what day he'd prefer to celebrate as OUR day instead . He normally buys me a book of poetry or something like that which I really like.

Squirrel3 · 08/02/2006 13:33

Awwwww, that's romantic tarantula.

OP posts:
Squirrel3 · 08/02/2006 13:34

Awwwww, that's romantic tarantula, dp's idea of romance is saying "So, do you fancy a sh@g then?"

OP posts:
Squirrel3 · 08/02/2006 13:36

(I have no idea why the first bit of that last post came up twice)

OP posts:
NotActuallyAMum · 08/02/2006 13:39

tarantula your DP does have a point there. Round here a pub meal normally costs less than £15 for two people but that more than doubles for valentines day

lol Squirrel

Can't really grumble about my DP being unromantic cos he's really good - it's relatively early days for us though...

Last year on valentines day when I got home from work I could hear music upstairs - when I got to the top of the stairs DP had put a love songs CD on in the bedroom and he was standing at the bedroom door naked apart from a big red bow tied around his you-know-what

Squirrel3 · 08/02/2006 13:42

NAAM, in dp's case it would be a very small red ribbon!!!

Only joking of course, I have no complaints

NotActuallyAMum · 08/02/2006 13:46

Squirrel3 · 08/02/2006 13:48

Squirrel3 · 08/02/2006 13:53

OP posts:
tarantula · 08/02/2006 13:57

Squirrel3 · 08/02/2006 14:02

OP posts:
NotActuallyAMum · 08/02/2006 14:32

Just been down to the duck lake with DP for lunch, told him about the washing line - even he said bm3sm2 should have bought some pegs and put them on his bollocks

Squirrel3 · 08/02/2006 14:54
