I'm sure everything will be ok now. Does this mean that you will be able to come on here this evening?

What do I get dp for Valentines day?

NotActuallyAMum · 06/02/2006 15:32

Certainly does, bugger the housework

The BT engineer said that the line had actually started to come out of the telegraph pole - he said it's quite a common problem, the lines just come loose after blowing in the wind for so long. Getting through to BT was a flippin' nightmare! The calls are answered abroad and the person I spoke to just didn't speak proper English - that together with the bad line made it extremely difficult to communicate. I ended up saying "look, I can hardly hear you, I can't understand you, please can you get someone to ring my mobile, the number is xxx"

x posts Squirrel

I've got DP a t-shirt with Max and Paddy on (he loves that program) and a drinks coaster with The Simpsons on it dressed in his football teams' kit. Can you get him something for his fishing? Or buy some underwear for you so that he gets the benefit

Squirrel3 · 06/02/2006 15:42

I was thinking of something sexy for us both to benefit, but the last time I did that for him on Valentines day, I got all 'kitted up' for him, had a wild night planned.....

Then BM phoned up threatening to kill herself because her dp didn't get her anything!!!! Dp was on the phone to her until 3am because he couldn't leave her like it (I understand why, he had to make sure she was ok for the kids sake!!!!) I did get angry though when she started telling dp that she regretted finishing with him and maybe they should get back together!!!!!!!!!!!!

NotActuallyAMum · 06/02/2006 15:50

You handled that far better than I would have!! If DP did that to me I'd have buggered off to the pub on my own - still in my underwear

Actually on second thoughts me in my underwear would empty the pub pretty damn quickly, and not for the right reasons!!

Squirrel3 · 06/02/2006 16:04

Don't put yourself down NAAM, I'm sure you look lovely in your undies (now there's a thing I never thought I would be saying to another woman!) but I'm sure you do.

We all think that we are bigger than we actually are, I feel really fat today, far to fat for sexy undies but I'm sure my dp would disagree.

Thank you

I'm sure my DP would say that too - no, I know he would, bless him

workingmumnhs · 06/02/2006 16:36

Hello Everyone, Welcome back FANC. Hope you are felling better. Work was horrible today but I won't go into it because you REALLY don't want to know.
How has everyone else been.

NotActuallyAMum · 06/02/2006 16:43

Hello workingmum

Sorry works not been good - when do you get to go back to your usual ward? Bet you can't wait

workingmumnhs · 06/02/2006 18:21

End of March!!!!!!!!

The manager wants me to stay on if the ward stay open but I don't think so.

I have a cushy number on the gynae day ward.

NotActuallyAMum · 06/02/2006 20:56

End of March is only about 7 weeks away, it'll soon go

I take it you've told him no to staying on??

workingmumnhs · 06/02/2006 21:14

not yet, Might use it to my advantage. See if I can play the two managers off against each other and see who offers the best deal.

NotActuallyAMum · 06/02/2006 21:29

lol - good idea

I really couldn't do your job. My eldest niece wants to be a nurse but she can't go to nursing college till she's 18 so she's doing an NVQ in care at the moment. She's 17 in August

tarantula · 06/02/2006 21:42

NotActuallyAMum · 06/02/2006 21:47

tarantula · 06/02/2006 21:56

But I like my men's toys. They are fun. Cor you wanna see the size of the hard drive I've got here just waiting to be screwed into my machine.

I love this laptop, at least I'm not bored now when DP is on nights and I'm fed up of doing housework

workingmumnhs · 07/02/2006 06:52

if we have a tecnnical expert here, my speakers have stopped working! any ideas.

tarantula · 07/02/2006 08:21

Morning all
I know a few bits but not much esp about things like speakers cos there is so much that could be wrong. Did anything in particular happen when they stopped working?
Erm Are they built in or seperate?
If seperate are they pluged into the right socket? (I've done that took me ages to figure out what was wrong)
Do they make a slight hissing noise when turned on? Cos they should.

If so go to start, control panel and sounds and audio devices you can check your speaker settings.

NotActuallyAMum · 07/02/2006 10:06

Morning all

How is everyone? Work's anyhow for me today, I get the feeling it's going to be one of those days....

Squirrel3 · 07/02/2006 11:42

Hello folks,

I'm ok, how is everyone else?

I wanted to get on here last night but ds was on the computer all evening talking to his band members because they have an important gig in a couple of weeks time, why they can't talk on the phone I don't know? He is really excited about this gig though, so I let him.

Maybe when he is rich and famous he can keep me in a lifestyle that I could become acustomed to!

tarantula · 07/02/2006 11:44
