It looks (whispering and praying) like he might be staying...

Alvarez-other than wanting another team-has a big sticking point in that he travels/moves not just with wife and children but with a larger extended family which he would be unable to do in UK.

I would much rather have players who are dying to be at Arsenal.

Although a bit of a double edged sword as it seems no one wants to leave...
(I am looking at you Gabi Jesus)

Edited

Well that didn't age well at all.

Looks like we have sold Martinelli, Jesus and Viera.

😢

FC Isle of Man finally lost a game yesterday, which has sent us tumbling down the table!

Arsenal seem to have signed a few academy players - Igor Tyjon (striker) who we've been after for a year or so I believe, James Scanlon (midfield - Gibraltar international!), Axel Donczew (Midfield), Habeeb Ogunneye (fullback), and Marli Salmon has signed his first, well deserved, professional contract.

Andria Bartishvili looks like he may be coming in, possibly as a replacement for Martinelli (which I still think is a dreadful piece of business).

I'd love Alvarez to come to Arsenal, but only if he actually wants to be there, not just as a stepping stone to get to Barcelona. Although I suppose if he plays well for a season and wins us the CL then we can sell him on for a profit...

@Brefugee Armbands are to mark the passing of Ken Bates, former Chelsea chairman and Bobby Tampling former top scorer. There was a tribute at the start of the match.
That was a brilliant first half and the second wasn’t bad either. Definitely helped my FPL too.

Yes, I am pleased that we have bought some youngsters. Our U18s and U21s have been doing so badly since Per and Jack left.

Ethan's brother was sent off for the U18s yesterday for 2 yellows.

I don't want Alverez. He doesn't want us so there is no point and I think that he would be disruptive for the team.

Disappointing result for us but coming back from 3-0 to 4-3 is pretty good. Just shouldn’t have let it get that bad in the first place

Downsidesupside · 30/08/2026 16:31

Nice to see Rashford starting back at Old Trafford.

Yes, I am not looking forward to playing Chelsea next week. Cole Palmer's goal was amazing.

Downsidesupside · 30/08/2026 17:06

United, one goal down and still standing around and walking.

They need to put some effort i and actually move for each other. Get the basics right.

DuncinToffee · 30/08/2026 17:55

They have turned it around now but that was a blatant handball from Maguire.

Got lucky with the first as well.

I'm frustrated still because they only seem to play for a third of every game tops. Aside from that they meander around as though they aren't interested.

They will do so much better if they put the effort in for more of the game.

It was a good result in the end though, so what do I know? Grin

thanks, i didn't know about Bates, and the German comentators never really say anything about the armbands.

Blimey, tho, that rain in Manchester!

Quite the happy bunny today. I had over optimistically predicted 7 / 0 for Manchester United. It's a good result.

He won't be banned unlike the West Brom player a couple of weeks ago. Seems a strange rule and 'do you know who I am' Maguire is not someone to do that accidentally.

Tzolis has been found out, and Eze has come on for a position that he's invariably been useless in. Martinelli would have had Cash sent off by now.

But he has been so good up to now. Do you think he just had an off night?

Eze was good on the left tonight.

TheNewGaard · 01/09/2026 00:38

I like Tzolis, but I'm not sure he's got the depth. He doesn't often get past his defender. Martinelli could always skin someone for speed if nothing else worked. Eze was only OK if he moved into the middle and expected Calafiori et al to cover for him. I just think we've left ourselves weaker.
