Ah yes. We had Josh Keely on loan from Spurs and he was great but it papered over the cracks. Then last season it was just one disaster after another.Simpkin recalled overnight, Bachmann broke his foot in the warm up for his first game so didn’t play a minute. Nightmare. So fingers crossed that Baxter is good and stays fit. We have got rid of two centre backs and a right back from the first team so he won’t have an established defence in front of him.

I briefly remember that. Josh Keely was great and I'm hoping Matty Young is going to be more like him than Owen Goodman but I'm really not a fan of loan keepers, would much rather have our own and it sounds like Nicholls didn't even want to leave. He's Preston's No2 now.

We just got a new full back but other than that I don't think our defence will change as much which might be good in that they are established for a new keeper but considering the goals we shipped in towards the end of the season, maybe not a good thing either!

Glasner has been announced as Forest's new head coach

There is only one way that is going to end and it isn’t good news for Glasner.

TheNewGaard · 06/07/2026 22:40

Tonali has obviously given up on football, he's moved to Sp*rs.

Is Newcastle really that bad?

DuncinToffee · 06/07/2026 22:48

Spurs are on a spending spree

I assume his contract offers him a big payout when it all goes pear-shaped, so he doesn't really have much to lose.

I could put up with that awful owner for a few million.

Yes, on the BBC HYS, someone said that they could spend around £400m in total.

I wouldn’t be surprised if yet more scandal came out about him. I did laugh at him basically teeing up his move back to Italy before he was even off the plane in London. He’ll always have a special place in my heart for his shithousery in the cup final by tying his bootlaces to waste time - bootlaces he had to first undo to tie to waste time - but beyond that, I don’t think I’ll miss him. He was too half arsed at times. And I think we’ve had Spurs eyes out for that fee.

ive name changed for the new thread. But I don’t suppose it will be difficult to work out who I was previously 🤣

The World Cup has inspired me to start supporting a local club, Cambridge United, previously I ‘supported’ Spurs but only got to see them play twice.

I'm not going to lie, I'm more of an armchair viewer nowadays, but dh and ds1 can't @afford as many Pompey games as they would like, so they go 10 mins down the road in between games to a local club and watch them £5 entry and no traffic jams Grin

There's something special about supporting your local club, even if they are shit (I'm looking at you, Huddersfield Town!).

I am old enough to remember when under John Beck, Cambridge United came close to getting into the top division. Someone called Dion Dublin playing a part in this.

Well if you like to see daylight after your Sunday lunch in January, it is. Not otherwise.

Is the Bigg Market on a Friday night still the experience it was in the late eighties?

Not convinced by Bonner but Neil Harris is a legend Smile

@BigDanBurnHesFromBlyth

what do you think about the Bruno to Arsenal rumours??

BigDanBurnHesFromBlyth · 09/07/2026 01:18

I think I had one long haul holiday ruined last year with waking up to constant transfer bollocks about Isak and I’m about to have another one ruined with similar about Bruno 😖

I have no idea what’s happening at my club anymore. Bruno going may well be a blow we struggle to recover from. Selling our four best players in the space of 12 months is just an absolute madness. And shows any ñoyalty in football is a thing of the past. Sick of these players who appear to buy wholeheartedly into a club only to decide to want sway the second things don’t go to plan.

Signing in. A massive Reading fan. Have been a season ticket holder for 40 years.

Sorry (not actually sorry about this. At all)

BARRY BANNAN IS COMING BACK TO WEDNESDAY!

Wednesday are having a good transfer window so far. I saw that they got Harry Gray on loan too who Huddersfield wanted but I had a feeling he wouldn't come here because he is Leeds through and through.

I tend to follow Crewe as well as Manchester United. About 29 years ago the then Australian goalkeeper for Crewe, whose children went to the same primary school as ours, invited us to a summer barbie at the family home. It was great fun.

My closest club (including non-league) where I live now, genuinely, are Spurs! One of my kids is a Spurs fan as a result, so he legitimately does support his local club.

My son supports Leeds United. 😂
