Looks like there will be European nights this autumn and winter at the AMEX stadium.

Yep. Great news. And another confidence boosting score line which is just as good news

NUFC69 · 29/08/2026 12:46

Please may I join a bit late? I started reading a couple of weeks ago and then had other things in my mind. You can see who I support from my name. We moved here 43 years ago and my DH said, "at last a proper team to support!" Now we have GC as well as DC and they're all Newcastle supporters.

I was at last Sunday's match and, although I'd have taken a draw beforehand, I was sad that's what the final score was. There was huge emotion in the stadium for King Kev, but the scale of the tribute was better on the TV.

I cried when Kev left, and Bobby, and then again for Eddie the other week.

You are right, I didn't spot that because the Arsenal and Newcastle fans are louder Wink Grin

As long as it stays semi friendly, I don't mind. I like the vibe on this thread.

I’d like to think we’re passionate! Welcome @NUFC69 Wor flags really outdid themselves on Sunday. Beautiful tribute to a much loved man.

Tarkan · 29/08/2026 14:18

Sorry to say there won’t be any Smokie pie photos today. I was at a wedding last night and even though I avoided the dance floor my hips are too sore to manage the walk out to Gayfield today. I won’t make next week either because I’m at a friend’s wedding renewal.

MrsMitford3 · 29/08/2026 14:22

Well @Tarkan at least you are missing in a blaze of disco glory!!

We will wait for photos of pies...

Tarkan · 29/08/2026 14:24

I might have to head to the fish shop during the week as it’s been way too long since I last had one. 😁 DH and I had a wee break at the start of the week (a lovely lodge about an hour from home provided by a local cancer charity) and I was telling a couple we met alllll about how they need to get to Arbroath to the purple fish shop for the smokie pies. 🤣

We need some more Everton fans.

DuncinToffee · 29/08/2026 17:03

Haha, I could do with someone to moan about not given penalties.

Late equaliser, not really deserved but that matters not.

Huddersfield didn't deserve to win today but we did, I can't remember the last time I could say that. We also came from behind to win, I also can't remember the last time I could say that.

No goals until the 80th minute and then 3 goals all within 10 minutes. Joe Taylor is a different player this season, I'm beginning to think the loan to Wigan at the back end of last season was a blessing in disguise after all.

Just hope we can keep hold of him now and no one from the Championship comes sniffing around.

Scoobydoobydoo19 · 29/08/2026 17:53

Hello! Sorry for my tardiness! Glad to be back, although you've caught me on a day I don't like football 😉 (Bradford City fan - it was all going so well)

Piknik · 29/08/2026 18:55

Watching Spurs Newcastle and just wondering why I do it to myself. We've had good possession, we've pressed, there have been some really good spells of passing and yet here we are, 1-0 down. Tel has just completely fluffed a free kick in a dangerous area and once again it feels like we haven't capitalised on our periods of dominance.

Every season I forget how stressful it is supporting Spurs. I remember now though...

Yes I've been watching the game too and you do deserve to have scored.

I was listening to the radio this afternoon and they were saying how ridiculous it is that we allow our emotions to be dictated by 11 men who have no clue who we are and yet what they do affects our whole well-being.

Piknik · 29/08/2026 19:19

Completely agree @MustTryHarderAndHarder DH and DS are at the game and they will have a miserable journey home. DD will be home later as well and we will all feel a bit deflated. Meanwhile the players are all probably having a massage and a nice bit of dinner!

And yet, once you're a fan, you're a fan and so here we all are, resigned to a lifetime of this!

Only caught the last 20 minutes, walked through the door to see Newcastles 2nd go in. Telling myself we will do it the other way round this year, start bad and end well 🙏It was good to see Kudus back, and I'm liking seeing Moore get game time although there's talk of another loan spell away for him.

TheSleepingGiant · 29/08/2026 19:41

Decent performance from Gillingham today, another draw but a score draw this time and plenty of chances.

@Brefugee Sheffield Wednesday 😱

BigDanBurnHesFromBlyth · 29/08/2026 19:52

Very happy with that outcome today. I thought Spurs would have given us more of a test tbh and they had some ok moments but our new signings seem to have bedded in so much better than theirs. Dedic is absolutely outrageous and Elanga and Wissa are looking like the players we hoped we had signed last season. The future is looking brighter than I could have hoped for post Eddie Howe tbh. Now if we can beat Bournemouth next weekend I will believe things have really changed 😂

Tarkan · 29/08/2026 20:40

Some crazy scores but wow at Wednesday today.

Another draw for West Ham. Sigh.

However very happy with the result from Gayfield. Beating Livi 1-0 is a great result for us. Kinda gutted I wasn’t there as their manager got a yellow card and with sitting behind the away dugout I can imagine the jeers there would have been from everyone around my seat for that.

You probably won't agree but I think that Eddie Howe leaving is the best thing that could have happened.

I am sure that he encouraged your players to be thuggish and they spent so much time doing that that they forgot how to play football.

He always came across is totally unpleasant and so did his sidekick.

It was great how your last sub just laughed in Pedro Porro's face when he was trying to wind him up.

Brightbluesomething · 29/08/2026 22:12

Completely agree with @BigDanBurnHesFromBlyth its starting to come together and hopefully we can only improve.
Sorry but have to disagree with @MustTryHarderAndHarder about Eddie and Mad Dog. Loved them both and still getting over them leaving.
However sitting in the stands behind Jaissle in preseason and seeing his enthusiasm (and incredibly tight trousers) is helping me to move on 😂
