i think the ref didn't send enough players off (and in the Sunday Times there are so many comments about it being "a bit of handbags"). Todibo's first move was to put both hands round someone's neck! I think Traoré should have gone off too, and whoever it was that flicked the other one's face.

There needs to be a very hard line on this. Very hard.

Imagine your first move is to put your hands round someone's throat!!

I don't like Cucurrella but I feel a bit sorry for him as the referees seem to accept that the opposition will pick him up and throw him around with impunity.

I am struggling to share your sorrow as I would also like to throw him round with impunity 😂

As an Arsenal fan I never thought I would be cheering for spurs!

DuncinToffee · 01/02/2026 18:07

Ha, I am rooting for Spurs here

I can't type out the cheer but am also cheering for Spurs.

What on earth did he say at half time???

Suddenly an exciting game!!!

TheNewGaard · 01/02/2026 18:18

Have to cheer on Sp*rs, but I'm watching the Ladies take the lead against Corinthians.

Hellohah · 01/02/2026 18:18

I'm also rooting for Spurs today.
We play them next week.

We had a ref nightmare at OT today. My main moan is going to be this ...
3 minutes for VAR to disallow Fulham's goal. It can't be a clear and fucking obvious error if it takes a full 3 minutes to review. I'm sure someone has mentioned this before on the previous thread, but they should get a maximum of 30 seconds before the on field decision stands.

I shouldn't be mad about it as obviously went in our favour but I really am. It doesn't half ruin the game.

Yes the 3+ minute reviews in my opinion should mean on field decision stands unless they are looking at a few incidents. The stops start disrupts the game too much.
I felt Fulham were unlucky today as well.

Literally as I read this they bloody equalised.

My Ds's and wives are there-Emirates pretty full and they are sitting in the beer allowed section. Wasn't as full for the early game.

burblish · 01/02/2026 18:41

Everyone except Arsenal fans: Spurs, you had one job today - Be Spursy. You couldn't even bloody do that! 🤣

Yes, they played like a team possessed in the second half.

TheSleepingGiant · 01/02/2026 19:48

Feeling the Spurs love over here 😂stunning goal from Solanke. Too often they cannot play 2 decent halves of football though.

Fulham always seem to shit out with the VAR decisions, I do feel for them.

MrsMitford3 · 01/02/2026 20:06

Sods Law Merino apparently has a broken bone in foot the day after the transfer window shuts...

Gutted for Fulham

DuncinToffee · 01/02/2026 20:10

I think deadline day is tomorrow?

I was out for a meal last night when the West Ham game was on. There was a TV I could see slightly from where I was sitting but then a really tall guy sat in the way. I thought it was Traore they were looking into for the red card until I saw what Todibo had done. I’m surprised we didn’t have more cards there tbh.

Arbroath lost as well then today Rangers and Hibs (DH’s team) drew so not the best weekend for any of my teams.

MrsMitford3 · 01/02/2026 20:49

Didn't realise if all subs used (watching arsenal women in a Cup) you could have a concussion sub and then the other team also gets another sub.
Seems so sensible.
Assume not the same in the mens game??

Pretty sure concussion subs are a thing in the men’s game as well.

We were Reverse-Spursy today. No idea what was said in half time, but we were a completely different team second half and Solanke's goal was stunning.

Sadly, I still have zero optimism for the next four games, we are so lacklustre most of the time. I know Thomas Frank a bit personally - not well, but well enough to say that he is a genuine and lovely man, but my goodness what I'd give for Poch and a few less injuries right now. I honestly believe we could be hovering around relegation by end of Feb.

It definitely is I remember it from the Liverpool Southampton game in March last year when Liverpool used 6 subs due to a concussion for Southampton in the first half

Itstheyearitstarts · 02/02/2026 09:06

Well done to the Arsenal women's team, great result for them.
Hope the keeper is ok, no one likes to see someone being stretchered off (well, maybe one or two players, but I won't name them!)

when the VAR starts up in German stadiums, both sets of fans (so it goes from one side to the other) start chanting "scheiss DFB" (which is basically "arsehole FA") so it's on the TV channels the whole time.

And i am a huge fan of a time limited VAR: 60 seconds at most and if still dithreing the original decision stands.

Brefugee · 02/02/2026 20:30

Any Forest supporters? You lot better look after Luca Netz or i'm coming for you.

Tiswa · 02/02/2026 20:39

I think we are all in agreement with a time limit for VAR - I also support a decision in favour of the attacker as well
