Happy New Year.

This is going to be an interesting year with the regulation change.

Rumours are Mercedes and RB engines are exploiting a loophole and so may have the most powerful engines.

AM will have a car with significant input from Adrian Newey.

Sauber becomes Audi and we have an 11th team, Cadillac.

Christian Horner seems very keen to get back into F1, preferably Alpine with Flávio - they deserve each other.

There is closed door testing in Barcelona then open testing from 11 February at Sakhir.

Edited for typo and thread title.

Fizbosshoes · 14/06/2026 15:35

Oh well a few more points for OP too 😊

Brazilianadventure · 14/06/2026 15:35

All I wanted for Lewis was one win this year ideally at Monza or Silverstone.

Really pleased for Lewis, all Brit podium is lovely.
Poor Kimi but we do need to even things up a bit to keep it interesting.

mydogisthebest · 14/06/2026 15:38

So so so so pleased for Lewis and two fingers to all the haters who said he was finished.

Good to see 3 Brits on the podium

RockaLock · 14/06/2026 15:38

I could hardly bear to watch the last 10 laps.

So pleased for Lewis. And an all-British podium - nice!

It’s a shame for Kimi, but at least it keeps the championship a bit more interesting.

Fizbosshoes · 14/06/2026 15:40

That was really sweet for Kimi to be first to congratulate him

Comefromaway · 14/06/2026 15:41

How lovely Lando going to him like that

mydogisthebest · 14/06/2026 15:43

So lovely to see so many other drivers congratulating Lewis. I am actually crying

Brazilianadventure · 14/06/2026 15:44

Lewis the 8th youngest driver to win a race and now the 7th oldest driver to win a race.

I'm not supposed to be reading about this as I have to wait for C4 coverage but omg, I couldn't wait. For some reason I needed to check.

Wow, wow. I'm so delighted for Lewis

The media love a story and know that conflict makes £££.

Sadly, there has historically been unconscious bias against Lewis. You only have to look at the headlines when the paradise papers were released with a picture of Lewis and his red plane. No white sportsman was even named.

Look at the reaction by some of the media on Thursday to Lewis having his natural hair and how the camera focused on his hair when he took his helmet off yesterday.

AD21 had an undercurrent of this with not wanting Lewis to beat Michael’s record.

Everyone wants to say Lewis is finished and now he is showing he isn’t.

I completely agree with you. There is a definite undercurrent of holding him to higher expectations because of his skin colour. I can't imagine how hard it must be to live with every day

JamesWebbSpaceTelescope · 14/06/2026 20:34

Kimi got a 5s penalty. Which I know doesn’t affect him as he DNF but means that George got the 2nd place without Kimi breaking down.

Brazilianadventure · 25/06/2026 17:15

Race weekend ahead.

Lewis has provided a brief explanation of last year’s injury. When he crashed at Barcelona he knocked a disc in his neck into the nerve. He had 9 weeks of treatment.

FIA have declared a heat hazard for this weekend. All teams need to add cooling components to their cars but drivers are free to choose whether or not to wear the vest. This ensures all cars carry the same weight penalty of the extra components.

Interesting they have already declared a heat hazard.

Looking forward to seeing the Ferrari engine upgrades. Not a Ferrari fan but excited there might be a competition this year. And it would be amazing is Lewis got his 8 th title.

Fizbosshoes · 26/06/2026 07:08

OP has a custom lid this week... so expecting another underwhelming result, there!

Also hoping there will be some good competition from Ferrari at the front (and Charles completes a race, without incident )

HundredMilesAnHour · 26/06/2026 11:46

My boyfriend is off to Monaco today on business (and will be there until Wed). Selfishly I’m wishing this is a Monaco GP weekend instead of Austria as then I could have bagged a free hotel stay and watched the GP. Dammit F1 please sort out your scheduling to fit in with my hopes and desires! 😝

Less selfishly, I really hope Lewis can pull off another win.
