If any set of fans have needed to grow a pair, it's Arsenal fans, bless em 😂

DuncinToffee · 09/01/2026 13:38

Hahaha Evertons red cards this season:
Slapping your own player
Pulling hair
Sarcastic clapping ref
Bonus point for Dewsbury Halls 5th yellow card for taking a free kick too quickly....

3 match ban for 2 of those, violent conduct.

You just got to laugh

I see Man City signed Semenyo

To be honest, I can see why Nelli thought he was time wasting - Frimpong and Wirtz were flopping about all over the place in the second half and he was chasing a winner. Then Bradley went down and deliberately rolled himself back on the pitch in order to stop the game, which is what players tend to do when they are time wasting.

But I guess the meedja have to have something to froth about...

Liverpool players weren’t the only ones time wasting Arsenal players do it too - all do it it’s why matches often reach 98+ minutes. He has done it himself as well

Bradley didn’t deliberately roll himself either onto the pitch - I assume he was trying to get himself comfortable - that level of pain/anxiety doesn’t tend to make you think clearly and if he did have thoughts I can’t imagine it was get myself back onto the pitch!

The referee had already blown the whistle and Liverpool medical teams were already on the way it wasn’t going to get restarted anytime quicker

He is lucky he just got a yellow card but he needs to recognise that and learn from it

In other disgusting behaviour, I am appalled to see FIFA's unlimited greed strike again - there are no tickets available for disabled supporters in the lowest-price tier of general allocation tickets for the World Cup. To make matters even worse, personal assistants will have to pay full price to accompany them, rather than getting free or concession rate tickets, and, even then, cannot be guaranteed that they will get a seat next to the disabled fan they are accompanying. What the hell is this?!

Pens in the Wrexham/Forest game. Great game.

MrsMitford3 · 09/01/2026 22:09

Brilliant game and exciting pens!!

burblish · 09/01/2026 22:13

Wow, Wrexham! Poor Omari Hutchinson looked so nervous.

MrsMitford3 · 09/01/2026 22:15

He really did. DH said I turn into all of their mum's in a moment like this.

That final pen was Hale End boy V Hale End boy.

They probably trained together.

Brightbluesomething · 09/01/2026 22:35

I only switched over for the pens but they were really good. Hope Wrexham do well. They’ve played my local team and the fans are so respectful, not a bit of bother.

Scoobydoobydoo19 · 09/01/2026 23:30

Despite all the media coverage I do have a soft spot for Wrexham because Phil Parkinson is still a legend in my eyes.

DuncinToffee · 10/01/2026 12:09

FA Cup time.

We are fielding the strongest team we can and have a bench of U21/18's, down to the bare bones.

Macclesfield currently leading v Palace 1-0.

Palace have generously given them all of the gate receipts- £60,000 which is a very classy thing to do

A Macclesfield fan has another entertaining thread running

https://www.mumsnet.com/talk/am_i_being_unreasonable/5472991-to-hope-we-win-tomorrow-light-hearted?reply=149766611

That’s nice of them. If they loose they might wish they hadn’t been so generous!

TheSleepingGiant · 10/01/2026 13:40

Get in Macclesfield. 2-0 and fully deserved.

"We want 3" Grin

burblish · 10/01/2026 13:57

If Macclesfield do hold on to beat Palace (the Cup holders!!), Sean Dyche is going to feel a lot better..!

Tiswa · 10/01/2026 14:07

Nervy last few minutes now it is 2-1

abd obviously extra time looming for Everton Sunderland

burblish · 10/01/2026 14:13

Holy shit, Macclesfield have done it! 😲Biggest ever shock in FA Cup history?!

DuncinToffee · 10/01/2026 14:15

First time in 109 years that a national league team kicked out the holders in the first round according to Radio Merseyside

We somehow managed to take the match to ET

MrsMitford3 · 10/01/2026 14:17

First time since 1908 a non league side knocked out the holders.

Much deserved and wonderful to see!!

@DuncinToffee sort of cross post but very exciting!!

TheSleepingGiant · 10/01/2026 14:18

Excellent advert for the FA Cup and lower league footie. Well done Macclesfield, best team by far today.

burblish · 10/01/2026 14:22

I would have preferred it not to have been Palace (have a soft spot for them as I'm married to a Palace fan), but matches like this are a wonderful reminder of what the FA Cup is really about and that the fabled magic of the Cup still exists. (Ironically, Palace beating Man City against all odds in the 2025 final was another great example of this! So was Liverpool losing to Plymouth in the 4th round last year.)

Tiswa · 10/01/2026 14:28

It is what I love about the fa cup unless it is your team everyone roots for the non premier league team everyone is going to be rooting for Exeter/Pompey/Barnsley/Charlton the fact we started with one is amazing!

though having seen the Man City team sheet…

no disrespect @DuncinToffee the all premier league matches are kind of boring I mean other than fans who really cares!

burblish · 10/01/2026 14:59

@Tiswa Agree, 100% - we all love it when a Prem club loses to a lower tier opponent (except when it happens to our own club, and then we sniff saltily that we didn't care about the cup this season anyway... 🤣).

I reckon the Man City lineup is Pep's way of signalling he is determined not to come away without silverware again this season!

Incidentally, after Palace so generously let Macclesfield keep all of the gate receipts from today, it would have been a nice gesture if City had agreed to give some of their take to Exeter after Exeter asked them. I know they don't have to, but that money means a great deal to smaller clubs, especially after they lost the potentially lucrative option of replays in order to avoid more fixture congestion for the biggest boys.

burblish · 10/01/2026 14:59

(Urgh, sorry, double posted by mistake.)

DuncinToffee · 10/01/2026 15:00

Ah well, there is always next year
