Watching Chelsea v Arsenal.

TheNewGaard · 30/11/2025 18:31

That could have been better, but it was a tough game.

The irony of the Chelsea fans singing "Same old Arsenal, always cheating" when they were diving left, right, and centre...

LetsGoFlyAKiteee · 30/11/2025 18:33

Annoying how could've gone with 11 but hey ho ill take a point after going 10 men down expected a loss so all fair..

TheNewGaard · 30/11/2025 18:48

Why does anyone employ Sturridge as a pundit? He's the most dreadfully awful one yet! Not to mention his dress sense...

DuncinToffee · 30/11/2025 18:56

@Brefugee those are hilarious. The arm looks a bit scary.

Yes, Chelsea are a good team and they were better than us today. Everyone of our players was under par.

Glad that Palmer didn't come on.

I said at the start of the season that I thought Chelsea would win the league. I hope that I am wrong.

Tiswa · 30/11/2025 21:49

Has anyone read Lucas Paqueta response to his red card!

Nahhhh no chance. We are too inconsistent. Even if won yesterday we'll likely go on to drop points next week.

If we can keep our goals conceded record then be happy with that though it did seem a bit daft talking how it may be beaten about 6 games into the season...8 more goals needed and be safe

Tiswa · 01/12/2025 11:22

I think the league is set up for inconsistency- Arsenal have been the standout but the lead they have doesn’t seem insurmountable

Liverpool had their worst run in 72 years yet are 4 points from second

apart from Wolves I think we might have a proper battle on all fronts

Brefugee · 01/12/2025 20:19

My Boro supporting DH is enjoying a long moment of Schadenfreude about Wolves.

He really wasn’t happy at all. There’s no way he will be wanting to stay come next month, he wanted to go as it was but this will definitely be the final straw for him I think. He’s been a great player for us through everything but you can tell he’s really not happy at all now.

And speaking of great West Ham players - RIP Billy Bonds. A true legend of the club.

Brefugee · 02/12/2025 11:08

The Grman Sky commentator kept calling him 'Barry' Bonds. DH was very shouty

Tarkan · 02/12/2025 11:15

I would have been too. 🙈 Barry Bonds is a big name in baseball but that’s still no excuse.

@JasonTindallsTan completely off topic here but need some newcastle advice and before I post a thread calling for Geordies I thought I'd start with you!!

Or any other newcastle people on here.

DC went to newcastle for uni and has stayed. getting married in the spring.
it is DH birthday whilst we are up there and I need somewhere for about 14 people for dinner. Not fancy-more pub. Maybe a pub with a private room?
we are staying in Jesmond for the build up but doesn't matter where-does anything spring to mind?

I will now go back to being an annoying Arsenal fan 😉as you were.

JasonTindallsTan · 02/12/2025 17:19

Or maybe the three mile in gosforth threemile.co.uk

JasonTindallsTan · 02/12/2025 17:24

Banyan in Newcastle have a private dining area as well www.banyanbar.co.uk/bars/newcastle/private-hire

Can think of a few more but none of the above are super fancy and should cover most price points. Have a look and see what you think 😊

Now as you were. Down with Arsenal and all that jazz 😂

(although I do promise to try and beat Spurs tonight 😂)

MrsMitford3 · 02/12/2025 18:04

@JasonTindallsTan thanks will have a look!!

And yes please to beating spurs 😉

Brefugee · 02/12/2025 19:21

Argh. Decided not to go to Gladbach's cup match today because i CBA.
Glad i gave it a miss because they were awful. And lost.

ETA: Good news for Wednesday that all points deductions will be in this season

TheNewGaard · 02/12/2025 21:21

Ooh, come on Fulham!

Hellohah · 02/12/2025 21:30

Absolutely cracking game that Fulham v City one.

Hoping they could have got back for a draw, but wasn't to be.
