Good over evil, come on, it's a game of footie 😂

Arsenal fans are a weird bunch Wink

Did you actually see how NC played???

They are absolute animals.

But we are used to it now.

DuncinToffee · 28/09/2025 18:53

No, I didn't watch the match but I do think the Arsenal fans on here are prone to overreacting.

Just enjoy the win Wine

Nope in no version are Arsenal good against evil. No one is going to ever cast Arsenal as good in that one

they are just a good football team who deserved the win on balance and should enjoy it

because there is every chance it will be them on top on goal difference for the international break

anything else is just hyperbolic nonsense

The on here is obsolete it is everywhere this notion that PGMOL are against them and they are a force for good against everyone else

they are a good side the premier league race should be taken to the wire and they are one of a handful of teams who could IMO win the Champions League

but that’s it!

Newcastle need to wonder yet again how they didn’t get anything

That’s an understatement! I didn’t dislike Arsenal particularly before joining this thread but I’m afraid all the thinking it’s worse for them has turned me against them.

DuncinToffee · 28/09/2025 20:04

Ach, the Gunners here are not that bad.

It must be exhausting not being able to enjoy a win without crying on about how hard done to you are. I could spend hours bleating on about how Gyokeres dived (embarrassingly so) in order to try and win a penalty, Gabriel starfished and handled the ball in the box and also hit Woltemade in the face in the huff. And the shirt pulling, my days, the red tinted glasses must be blackout blinds for fans to never ever see the behaviours Arsenal indulge in. But the simple fact is, we made two errors and were punished for them and other decisions didn’t go our way and that’s all there is to that. Whining on like a spoilt brat won’t change that and would quite frankly, make me look and sound like an absolute bellend. More so if we’d actually got a result 🙄

TheNewGaard · 28/09/2025 21:44

Oh dear, someone talking about tinted glasses!

🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

Tiswa · 28/09/2025 21:47

I think the good vs evil bit was little bit too far!

I get the irritation about the penalty but generally I don’t think Arsenal are half as put upon as they say and the corners for example are more in the ‘evil’ than ‘good’ column!

I think that the WORST decision so far this season has gone against Fulham who frankly were robbed against Chelsea - that is the decision for me this season that was frankly awful and game changingly so

other than that it is all much of a muchness for me

Tiswa · 28/09/2025 21:48

And we all wear rose tinted glasses in life it is naive to think otherwise!

DD(16) was talking about two boys at sixth form with her, she likes one doesn’t like the other. Objectively a neutral would put them as actually by and large quite similar characters - typical 16 year old boys. She totally doesn’t see the one she likes behaviour in anyway the same as the other. One is cute the other is annoying! One of her friends at a different school likes the one DD finds annoying - when DD was telling her about him and not holding back (remember doesn’t like him) her friend still thought he sounded cute

Football fans are exactly the same! Forgive behaviour in the team they support whilst noticing every little thing about those they dont

Ok, well, if you didn't watch the match, then fair enough, you would not have seen now NC played.

After the NC Liverpool match Slot (I think) said that he hadn't watched football. Was he whining about nothing as well?

I wonder what the common denominator was? It couldn't possibly be poor innocent NC could it?

Brefugee · 29/09/2025 09:29

oi, what happened to our lovely thread?

DuncinToffee · 29/09/2025 09:54

I don't know but I do not like this Newcastle bashing.

It’s an obsession at this point. Tiresome and quite frankly weird.

We go again in the UCL this week then Forest at the weekend. Would be nice to start picking up some results before the next international break. Hopefully our other striker will be fit after that and fingers crossed Tino hasn’t done his ACL again.

Tiswa · 29/09/2025 11:26

My grandad (mums side) was a QPR fan and was adamant if I was going to support Spurs (dad’s side and he was old school so agreed with) I had to also watch QPR and Northampton (he moved from London) so I could understand what lower league football was like and the differences and every now and then he would go to a Spurs match (the 4-5 North London Derby was the best match he had ever seen)

and I am glad because football isn’t all silky passes and beautiful runs it can be tackles and holding the back line

which is why we have been to some non league matches as well as Anfield (married a Liverpool fan sadly) to actually get an overall perspective of the game and Sutton United has a great vibe

I think even if you are a Premier League fan of a longstanding league club chasing for the top watching lower league football is a must watch to really understand the game

TheNewGaard · 29/09/2025 11:49

I can't argue with that. We go and watch FC Isle of Man (who have just sacked their manager) when we get the chance in the North West Counties Football League. But we can still appreciate it when they play good football.

And I think you're being a bit judgemental on the quality of football in the lower leagues - they aren't all playing agricultural "kick them off the pitch" type football. They're playing quality football to the best of their abilities in most cases.

Tiswa · 29/09/2025 12:47

Yes I know I was meaning to be judgmental I love lower leagues but it does teach you that football is just about goals at the end you don’t get points for best in show and all teams revert to kicking the ball up the pitch

DuncinToffee · 29/09/2025 12:50

I wish we did right now, we'd be second behind the mighty Palace according to the stats 😂

Tiswa · 29/09/2025 14:26

@Hellohah sorry to say that has made me laugh!

Hellohah · 29/09/2025 17:08

@Tiswa don't be sorry, you chuckle away lovely 😂

TheSleepingGiant · 29/09/2025 19:11

Lower league footie is special, my fave way to spend a Saturday or Tuesday night watching a game live. The EFL show is always a good watch (Sunday 9am ITV4), some absolute worldly goals shown on there which you can actually celebrate in real time

TheNewGaard · 29/09/2025 21:10

Looks like Saliba has signed a new contract.
