Hmm, not clear to me why Gravenberch got booked but Joelinton and Trippier can stick their studs in with impunity. Oh well - won't be the only booking of this match, I'm sure.

I love that both VVD and Slot acknowledged how immense the Newcastle home support was. I don't appreciate the argy bargy (WTF was Dan Burn doing at the end, squaring up to Alisson?!) and rough housing on the pitch, but the Newcastle players and fans do have a lot of heart.

Couldn’t have done any more on the pitch. Alexander Isak should be ashamed of himself watching his teammates give everything to get something out of that game whilst he sits at home in a sulk. Embarrassment.

I think they left everything on the pitch but then at the end let a 16 year old unmarked. He is a gem but alongside Dowman needs managing (more so actually as he needs to do his GCSE’s!)

I still think it is a two way thing with Isak I think he feels let down and aggrieved and I would be shocked if he comes back. The problem now of course is his price is dropping he hasn’t played any pre season his fitness has dropped and even if he does rejoin he isn’t going to be ready anytime soon
