We are over halfway through the season. It looks like the WDC will either be Lando or Oscar. Hoping for a grandstand finish in Abu Dhabi.

Just spent an hour looking for the new mclaren set up shirt I bought in Oct and never opened to wear to work tomorrow. I work in a factory and run the gauntlet of football shirts on a Monday morning.
Changed my mind and went for my Norris 4 shirt instead after all that.
It's been an excellent motorsport season- Lando taking the drivers championship, Mclaren taking the constructors championship and Tom Ingram taking the touring car championship. Full house!

What nonsense.

2 wins in the past 4 years. Beaten twice by George Russell in the same car, comprehensively obliterated by Leclerc this season, seven times on the podium to Hamilton's zero, in the same "shit car" and "shit team".

He's nothing close to the driver he once was. 2021 appears to have broken him, and now he looks every bit the washed-up has-been.

And finished 6th in the drivers championship out of 20 drivers.

Yes, I hardly think that counts as a "washed up has been"!

This was a transition year for Lewis. The ground effect cars have not suited some drivers Lewis but also Danny Ric. Seb didn’t find the 2014 regulation change suited his driving style.

I have always said December 2026 is when you judge where Lewis is.

Huge congratulations to Lando. He drove well today.

Max was amazing today but I'm glad Lando won the championship. I feel for Oscar, I'm sure his time will come.

I really hope Lewis has a better year next year

Apologies everyone else for the slightly cliched response but I’m taking the Mark Twain “never argue with a fool” approach. And trying not to roll my eyes too much. Okay, I lied…my eyes are pretty much doing a 360.

For some reason that poster doesn’t like Lewis. This thread is full of supporters of various drivers & teams but has overwhelmingly been respectful of all the drivers & it would be good to end this season that way.

Im surprised (but maybe I shouldn't be) about the amount of hate and sore losers there are on social media.
We were rooting for Oscar but he had several races after the summer that weren't great, whereas Lando performed well at all of them. The previous 2 weeks (LA and Qatar) essentially cost both drivers points. I felt Qatar was really unfair on Oscar and I was gutted for him especially when only 2 of his team were there at the end.... but even if had won that, hed have still been on the back foot coming into the final race.
The drivers are all respectful of each other and I loved that Landos family gave Oscar a hug at the finish, but there are some pretty bitter deranged supporters online

I agree. It’s not the drivers and their families. The drivers girlfriends get awful abuse on social media.

Las Vegas and Qatar were both unfair to the drivers. They should have pitted Oscar and he had every right to feel hard done to.

Exactly. One of the thing I most like about this thread (well, under yesterday’s unpleasant poster) is that it feels like chatting with a bunch of friends. We may have different favourites or preferences or opinions but everyone is respectful and supportive and actually rather lovely.

Dd is sending me links to Lando's store now as well as Mclaren. I fear my purse is going to be hit.

Good marketing ploy to make sure everyone updates their kit! Although i guess there will be a new kit next year anyway.

I hoped OP81 stuff might be reduced after yday 🤭 there was a sale but there was barely anything available (that I could get for DS) it was all xl or bigger.

I always think it’s interesting only Lewis kept 44 rather than taking the No 1.
Lando has used the 4 on a lot of his marketing so going to 1 is going to be a big make over.

I'm assuming if hes not 2026 champ then he'll go back to 4.
I only buy Maclaren merch when it's on offer. Just bought the setup top reduced from 60 to 30. Actually very good quality. I was surprised.

We have a Castore outlet store nearby so most of DD’s merch is from there apart from a couple of things she bought at Zandvoort

Bless Lando, I’ve just seen he said he would like to keep No4 but the mechanics etc. want the No1 so he’s doing it for them.❤️

Helmut to leave RB at the end of the year - can't say I'm unhappy about that, I believe Max is rumoured to have an exit clause that he can trigger if Helmet leaves, wonder how next years RB car will shape up over the winter, Max might well leave if he thinks its not a front runner👀
