We are over halfway through the season. It looks like the WDC will either be Lando or Oscar. Hoping for a grandstand finish in Abu Dhabi.

I have a dodgy 7 star Michael Schumacher cap I brought in China 2007. Along with a pristine genuine JB Brawn cap.

DS has a tatty OP81 polo shirt that he got 2 years ago in TK maxx and has worn it to death. It was the first thing he ever bought himself, with his own card. I wanted to get him a better one, but l need to wait til next year (and hope there is a sale!) because there's nothing similar left in his size now.

What size is he?

DDs bargain is a pair of McLaren team trousers that were in the outlet store with no price labels on that the staff decided to sell for £10

Glad Marko is leaving. He seems like a bit of a liability these days. Too much of a dinosaur for modern F1.

Very pleased Marko is leaving before Isaak gets there. I was worried how that would go.

There was an interesting interview with TV Producer Andy Wilman on Jake Humprey's podcast this week, it was mainly about Top gear / Grand tour but he talks about working with Schumacher and trying to get f1 footage from Bernie and his recent experiences as a guest of McLarens at Silverstone this year. I might have to read his book now.

Hes a small (skinny 16 year old) i bought a predominantly black/grey tshirt with orange sleeves, as i was running of places to look for the polo shirt.

If hes small, m and s do selection of kids maclaren clothes.
I'm a 2xl and cant get the grey and orange stuff in my size, only the predominantly orange.

Wonder if/where Christian Horner will be next year?

He did make the shortlist but it's a tough one, 2 Euro winning lionesses, a women's RWC winner, Luke Littler and Rory McIlroy.

I think it is unlikely as it is a very strong year this year.

My money on the England goalie. Runner up the rugby lady, she was very good.

I think he might get it, because hes sort of "man of the moment" most of the others acheived their sporting success months ago (although id like Hannah Hampton to get it)

Potentially silly question : how/when do they get to try out the new cars? Obviously they've been developing them over the course of this year, and probably significantly prior to that ...but assuming fp1 in Australia won't be the first time any of them will have actually been in the car....?

Barcelona end of January they will be testing apparently.

Did anyone see the fia president messing up Landos hair when he got the award. It was so strange!! 😳

Creepy

He also did it in the cool down room, you saw a hand grab Lando’s hair. What ever it is, it does give very creepy vibes.

Lewis is polite but gives MBS a keep away from me vibe. I know it’s been a year without a podium but I noticed in previous seasons he barely shakes hands, barely acknowledges him and immediately takes the medal off once it’s awarded.

Yes I saw it in the cool down room as well, very creepy. (In that respect Oscar was probably relieved he didn't win!)

They must be desperate for the winter break. I know they travel by private jet but they have been all over the place this week, Lando is probably on adrenaline winners high but the rest of them won't!

I didn't realise it was the president. Dodgy as hell. Poor Lando couldn't even say anything.

Apparently no one likes him & once elected he changed the system to make it harder to get him out.

He touched him a couple more times, on the arm and he looked uncomfortable. Can't imagine him doing that to Max though!

It’s impossible to get him out as under the current rules, no-one can stand against him so he ends up as the only candidate hence he stays in power.

This is because each candidate must have a supporter from each region on the ‘official approved FIA list’ from but there’s only one person on the approved list for South America (actually Bernie Ecclestone’s wife) which effectively gives her all the power to decide who the FIA President is. And she continues to support Ben Sulayem so no-one is able to stand against him. It’s a complete fix.

Edit: shame that Carlos Sainz Senior dropped out as he would have been a great president - if Mrs Ecclestone could have been convinced to support him. 🙄
