We are over halfway through the season. It looks like the WDC will either be Lando or Oscar. Hoping for a grandstand finish in Abu Dhabi.

What a shocker for Mclaren.

And what an utterly pointless race in the end: almost half of it under a safety car. F1 really need to look at this. What is the point of having cars trail round behind a safety car for lap after lap? Surely it’s far better to stop the race, then they can get the track cleared up more quickly, and the drivers can spend their time on the track actually racing.

Dh and dd say it was Hulkenbergs fault but I think Oscar drove into him and then Lando. Thought Zac was a bit off with his amateur hour statement.

I wonder if Stroll will get an penalty for trying to drive on with the car is such an obviously unsafe condition, it make the clean up harder and spread out,

Was 10 seconds for Bearman harsh? Guess he could have given the position back but either way he would get zero points so guess it was worth rolling the dice.

I liked George's reaction when he watched it. Definitely Oscar's fault. Thought Mclaren boses had more integrity than that.

He told me what happened but from his pov it was an accident because piastri left room for hulkenberg but wouldn't have seen alonso....hes a mcClaren (OP in particular) fan so not unbiased. I would probably be none the wiser even if I'd seen it!

Yes, that was funny to watch - Karun was so obviously trying to get George to say it was Oscar's fault for turning in so sharply (and I tend to agree). George did very well to not actually come out and say it 😂

It was Oscar’s fault. That was far too severe a direction change in the crowded first corner.

It was worse than Lando’s bump in Singapore both in action and consequence. It will be interesting if McLaren release a statement next week about repercussions for Oscar.

Lance has got a 5 place grid penalty. Not sure if that was for the collision or for driving when the car was unsafe.

Interviewer asked about five times about Oscar hitting him, lando replied each time ' but he didn't run into me'
I see Zac has backtracked and said it wasn't Hulks fault.

A pp asked about who needs to do what to win.

If Oscar finishes second in every race & sprint then Max cannot win the WDC. Lando is only 22 points behind Oscar so there are too many permutations at the moment.

Interesting that there is unexpected drama, and it seems the wheels might be coming off for OP....but ....at the end of the year, if MV wins the drivers championship again, it won't make the list very interesting! 😄
