Well, Arsenal seem to be doing their best to ensure that Chelsea do not have any issues with PSR.

I like Madueke but he is not worth £50m.

I think the club World Cup also helped - as they said Joao Pedro 2 goals pretty much covered his fee!

I don’t get the Chelsea to Arsenal current pathway because Arsenal seem to be collecting players Chelsea don’t need because they buy footballers like my teenage daughter buys clothes!

Havertz I think just about worked but Sterling didn’t!

Yes, but fortunately we didn't pay anything for Stirling and I also assume that Chelsea also subsidised his wages.

I'm not sure why we are paying so much for Chelsea's cast offs.

Let's hope Arteta knows what he's doing, but then he didn't with Stirling and he knew him much better than Medueke.

I’m probably a bit early with this, but is anyone keen for us to resume our fantasy football league when the PL restarts next month? Looks like they’re making some updates to the FPL app and website, but all details for how to join should be on this link, if anyone is interested 😊 - fantasy.premierleague.com/?_gl=1xqupcn_gaMTczMDM4ODg2Ni4xNzUyMjM0Nzc3_ga_Z815NWVZJY*czE3NTIyMzQ3NzYkbzEkZzAkdDE3NTIyMzQ3NzYkajYwJGwwJGgw

JasonTindallsTan · 11/07/2025 13:01

Yep I’ll be in again as reigning champion I believe 👀

Tiswa · 11/07/2025 13:27

We used to do it differently in our house and do it on a week by week basis so you could transfer.
DS is now joining a league with his friends so have to do it the other way.
Will be interesting though as quite a few players I had have moved or should be moving.

@MustTryHarderAndHarder I don’t get the love Arsenal fans have for Arteta at all, his only trophy came when half of it was done by Emery and can’t even remember them being Ina final. And I don’t find his interviews to be anything other than quite spiky and defensive and lacking a certain charm.

Chelsea/Spurs/Man Utd would have sacked him seasons ago

DuncinToffee · 11/07/2025 13:28

I am in too

Still sticking to my principles of no red shite GrinHalo

The only thing I don't like about Arteta is when he makes us a laughing stock by complaining about the ball etc.

Apart from that, I am happy that we have come second 3 years running. Yes, it would be great to win a trophy and I hope that we will soon, but I can't think of a manager that I would prefer.

Ah that’s a shame! When I saw Lyon (owned by the same guy as Palace) would stay in Ligue 1, I thought it would be bad news for Palace. I like them - even though I shouldn’t, as a Spurs fan!

Only silver lining may be that they have more chance of winning the competition, as some of the teams in it are part-timers and many without a European pedigree. Though winning a trophy is not to be sniffed at.

I'll be joining in again with another new name Smile

I have never done this. Considering having a go if that’s ok?

JasonTindallsTan · 11/07/2025 20:38

Deffo, the more the merrier. I love FPL. It makes the season for me. Our whole family does it as does DH’s sister and family and we have an FPL group chat that gets pretty heated at times. DH got bragging rights in the family mini league and I won the year before.

Fandango52 · 11/07/2025 22:48

Fab 😊 let’s look at getting a league set up in the next few weeks!

Tarkan · 12/07/2025 13:57

Hello from the Madri fan zone at Gayfield. Got my wrist band so we can go in and out of the drinking area.

We left the house in bright sunshine so got the sunscreen on and left hoodies at home. And the haar has come in so it’s weirdly warm yet foggy at the same time.

Got a Smokie pie. The fish is in a sort of white sauce I think but it’s absolutely packed with fish. And the cheese crust is lovely with it.

That pie looks delicious. Enjoy your day!

I tried to get tickets for our friendly against Roma in the general sale but was too late Sad

Tarkan · 12/07/2025 15:09

There was so much fish in it I’m absolutely stuffed.

I meant to say we’re apparently on Premier Sports but DH said it was a PPV streaming thing rather than the main channels.

We’ve all had our pics taken by the press for the new fan zone things as well. Like we suspected, each team is trialling a different idea. We’ve had basically a full bar, although the only beer was Madri, but I had a wine and there was a whole range of spirits and mixers. And we haven’t had a limit on drinks, whereas Ayr have a drinks limit and they have Moretti or nothing apparently LOL.

love the nails!!

Tarkan · 12/07/2025 17:20

Thanks @LlynTegidSmile

So we drew at 90 minutes against St Mirren. One point each. But then we went to penalties to see who gets a bonus point. And we won it 5-3. The missed penalty was Fraser Taylor who we had on loan from St Mirren last year and was a little wonder for us.

LetsGoFlyAKiteee · 13/07/2025 22:14

Wooo we won this odd thing

Fandango52 · 13/07/2025 22:19

Well done @LetsGoFlyAKiteee ! So pleased for Cole Palmer in particular. He’s a real class act. And well done England women!! 👏👏

outofdate · 13/07/2025 22:21

Wow shock result for Chelsea. Absolutely smashed PSG

outofdate · 13/07/2025 22:22

A good day for the James family!

LetsGoFlyAKiteee · 13/07/2025 22:23

That ending was a bit dramatic though!
