Football fans join in to share the joy, the heartache and VAR frustration ⚽

“Some people think football is a matter of life and death. I don't like that attitude. I can assure them it is much more serious than that.”

Ds2 has gone to London to meet ds1 for Spurs v Man City.

Brefugee · 30/10/2024 20:19

Gladbach are so useless. Cup match against Eintracht Frankfurt. Eintracht are one man down after 19 minutes and gladbach still managed to loose 2-1. Maybe they will finally sack our useless trainer now..

Not so peeved about Wednesday going out on penalties against Brentford, they put up a good show by all accounts.

Hope they had an amazing time. That was some result.

Oblomov24 · 30/10/2024 22:19

Pleased. Thought solanke ran and ran. Son jacket was rank.

AndNobbyDancing · 30/10/2024 22:20

Love Solanke, he was brilliant at Bournemouth.

I like the beer they had on at Preston for us this week!

😂😂😂

I've just applied for tickets when we come to you. I won't get them, our ballots are horrendous!

Brefugee · 01/11/2024 20:06

have just found out that my next trip to visit my mum is at a time when Wednesday are playing at home. 2 visits within about 10 weeks!!

JasonTindallsTan · 02/11/2024 16:18

Absolutely nowt to complain about with that result Arsenal fans.

DuncinToffee · 02/11/2024 17:17

VAR was wrong to disallow Beto''s goal but I can't really complain about the result, we were dreadful again.

Notts Forest is playing well and a good win for Bournemouth.

FPL is rubbish again so far Grin

JasonTindallsTan · 02/11/2024 17:35

Lewis Hall was my first sub and I was so close to getting him in the team except Pep gives no shits about my FPL and gave Rico Lewis a 10 minute run out instead 🙄

CrossPurposes · 02/11/2024 17:42

I swear if I had stuck with my fantasy team I had at the beginning I would have more points than I do now.

I haven't seen the game yet, about to catch up but can't imagine we were very good - sounds like we escaped a draw.

Massive win for Bournemouth.

I like seeing NF doing well, it reminds me of my childhood.

kiterunning · 02/11/2024 17:56

Great results today!

Not really.... at this stage i just have to laugh.
Gladbach playing tomorrow. I have no expectations, so hopefully they'll sack their coach (and if Wednesday are stupid enough to sack theirs, I'd want him at Gladbach)

EboueEboue · 02/11/2024 18:03

Sounds like we weren't at the game today. We're missing Ødegaard more every week. (I seem to remember saying before the season started that we should have kept Smith Rowe as cover).

Well done to the Barcodes, they played their usual awkward squad game and we couldn't cope with it.

At least it was a good goal this time.

And go Bournemouth!

We were very good and you just couldn’t really get in the game, only one shot on target in the 90 minutes.

Forest away for us next. Let’s hope Chrissy Wood forgets his shooting boots 😳🤦🏼‍♀️

Brefugee · 03/11/2024 19:51

gosh, went for brunch with a friend and had enough time, according to Uncle Google to make our match at 5:30. Only just got into the car park which was as full as it has ever been, then walked over to the stadium, they kicked off as we got to the beer garden, then as we were going through the turnstile we scored - then as i was being patted down by security... we scored again!

Luckily we saw our next two goals. Amazingly good performance by Gladbach today, beating Werder Bremen 4-1. Takes a bit of the bite out of Wednesday's dismal performance yesterday :)

TheSleepingGiant · 03/11/2024 20:00

Really don't like this scrapping of replays this early in the FA Cup. Got to feel bad for Boreham Wood, came back from 2-0 down against Leyton Orient in L1 only to go out on this silly new rule of straight to ET and penalties. Same story for Weston super Mare against Bristol Rovers. I just think it takes the magic out of it and spoils it.

@Brefugee not funny you missed the first 2 goals but the thought of how you described it happening did make me laugh Grin Least you got to see the last 2.

DuncinToffee · 04/11/2024 09:03

The scrapping of the replays was ridiculous, all to 'protect' the bigger teams who are playing too many games in Europe

They don't even enter until round 3 and have big enough squads

OP posts:
Brefugee · 04/11/2024 09:15

afaik most European countries don't do replays either.
What they do in Germany really puzzles me. When one of the matches in a round has to be postponed, and it goes past the time the next draw would be made - they postpone the draw to. Baffling.

I think that scrapping replays protects all teams. Whether you are aiming to win the league or trying to avoid relegation, you don't need extra games where your players could be injured.

Even the "smaller" teams don't play all their best players because they always have an eye on the next PL game.

Unfortunately, referees don't protect players as "it is a physical game" so clubs have to protect themselves.

MustTryHarderAndHarder · 04/11/2024 10:52

It looks like Edu (the Arsenal Sporting Director) is going to Notts Forrest.

A big blow.

EboueEboue · 04/11/2024 11:03

Notts Forest? On Talk Shite this morning they were suggesting he's going to Brazil.
