Come on Scotland....

Hands up all those who forgot about match day 2 fantasy football changes

Also we think Gunn isn't 100% fitness. Keeping an eye on that but I've said to DH I think he's got some sort of minor niggle in his lower back or glutes.

I was thinking that with Tierney taking the goal kicks.

i hate when that happens as if the kick goes wrong then everyone is played onside by Tierney.

So why have we got the news over the highlights of the first half?

DwightDFlysenhower · 19/06/2024 21:01

I'm still undecided on some of the VAR. Perhaps I need to listen to Cristina more. Grin

I like it in cricket, and tennis so it isn't that I don't think it's generally good. I just feel like it's somehow made the offside rule less fair in a way. If you're looking for mms of toe being in front or behind. Officials would look more at the body I think? Which would give a better idea of who had the advantage from their positioning, not just who had bigger feet.

Not sure, what do other people think? Maybe I'm just not sure football feels like it should grind to a halt for checking. Tennis and cricket have more natural breaks.

ARichtGoodDram · 19/06/2024 21:03

One thing I’m hating about VAR is the way it’s evolved into a word by some of the commentators - some are saying var like car, rather than V.A.R.

I don’t know why it irritates me so much 😂

ARichtGoodDram · 19/06/2024 21:17

Ah bugger. Tierney’s pulled something.

DuncinToffee · 19/06/2024 21:18

Close for Switzerland, Scotland playing themselves in to trouble

Not looking good for Tierney

Ooo, that looked painful for Tierney.

ARichtGoodDram · 19/06/2024 21:20

Going by his reaction I’d say that’s Tierney done for the tournament.

He’s so unlucky with injuries.

DuncinToffee · 19/06/2024 21:25

I thought that was in, flipping post

Cmon corner.

Tarkan · 19/06/2024 21:37

To me that looked like a bad hamstring injury for Tierney. He had one really long extended step then a short one that would have juddered it and he immediately grabbed around there. Not great when he was doing Gunn's goal kicks like @ARichtGoodDram mentioned.

I just hope we have Shankland for the next match. I don't know how bad his injury was but we need someone like him back when we don't have Dykes at all.

YouOnlyCameToSeeEboue · 19/06/2024 21:46

Oh great, that's Tierney out for months, so no loan or sale in that case...

littlbrowndog · 19/06/2024 21:46

Take the draw should have had the win.

LadyShimura · 19/06/2024 21:47

That sucks for Tierney. What a crap way to end a massive tournament.

DuncinToffee · 19/06/2024 21:52

FT 1-1

OP posts:
littlbrowndog · 19/06/2024 21:53

That’s ok

LadyShimura · 19/06/2024 21:54

That score line did not reflect the game at all. Both teams had great chances. Atleast Scotland have come away with a point.

ARichtGoodDram · 19/06/2024 21:56

That’s so Scotland - so frustrating. if we want to beat Hungary we need to find some finishing skills and pack in the silly errors.

I also think that’s it’s a joke that McTominey has now been credited with the goal. It was a good strike, but that was an OG 😂

littlbrowndog · 19/06/2024 21:57

Exactly

burblish · 19/06/2024 22:07

Not looking good for Tierney, but good to see Shankland come on towards the end. I was hoping for a Scotland win, but at least they got a point from it.

Cooper77 · 19/06/2024 23:22

Though I’m English I cheered on Scotland tonight. I really hate the way the home nations turn on each other during football tournaments. It’s so pathetic - and depressing. Surely we ought to be supporting our fellow Brits.

Exactly this. ^ I can't bring myself to cheer on the Scotland team though, because I know how utterly loathsome the attitude of the Scottish is towards the English during the football. I have heard MANY Scots saying they don't care who wins as long as it's not England.
